  4. Which is the best ARPG ever made? For some, Diablo 2 will never be beaten, while others might call Diablo 4 a new frontier. The excellent Last Epoch has made waves in 2024, and the likes of Torchlight 2, Titan Quest, and Grim Dawn will always have their dedicated fans. Yet among those who count the genre as more lifestyle than hobby, it's Path of Exile that typically tops the charts. 6. North America won its third straight major Teamfight Tactics championship and second back-to-back Worlds title through Dishsoap’s win at the Inkborn Fables Tactician’s Crown World Championship. Heading into the final day of the Inkborn Fables Tactician’s Crown World Championship, Dishsoap was the only Americas player to make the top eight. Pulling out a win and second-place finish after losing three games in a row on day two, Dishsoap came into day three as the only hope for the newly formed Americas region. Playing at the highest level and finding lines other competitors couldn’t see, Dishsoap claimed the second NA back-to-back Worlds title through one of the wildest TFT games I’ve seen in Set 11. 8. The first age-rating for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is here, and yep, it looks like we will be playing as, er, Link? Back in June, during Nintendo's annual summer direct, the developer announced something we've all been waiting years for: a Zelda game where you actually get to play as the titular princess herself. Echoes of Wisdom clearly looks to be doing something different with the formula, as Zelda won't be picking up a sword, but a special wand that lets her copy pretty much anything, so it'll clearly be more of a puzzley kind of affair, but it's still exciting that she's getting a main series title all to herself. Except, well, it won't be completely to herself, as Gematsu spotted that the game's ESRB age-rating has gone up, with the rating's summary sharing that yes, Link, the series' mainstay hero, is playable. "This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Zelda as she attempts to dispel rifts throughout Hyrule and rescue Link," the summary starts off, which seems to be in line with what we all know so far. "From a ¾-overhead perspective, players explore various environments while fighting stylized enemies (e.g., humans, creatures). As Link, players use a sword and arrows to defeat enemies; Zelda can use a magic wand to summon creatures (e.g., wind-up knights, pig soldiers, ******) for battle." Read more View the full article
  9. A recent ***** from Honkai: Star Rail is potentially hinting at the next new variant of the Trailblazer, featuring a Path that has yet to be integrated into its playable characters. With more than 50 roster members for players to choose from, the popular sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse features plenty of variety in its playable cast. From support characters like Ruan Mei and Asta to Star Rail's heavy damage dealers like Seele and Acheron, fans have no shortage of options to build their perfect team. However, one Star Rail character makes for a particularly versatile choice. View the full article For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  10. If you loved cutting bits of fruit and riding a jetpack on your phone, then you'll love… collecting treasure from procedurally generated undersea, eldritch-horror filled caves. Remember Fruit Ninja? It was a simple, very arcadey sort of game that was all the rage in the distant year of two thousand and ten, a time when mobile games were more tiny timewasters rather than full-blown experiences. The creator of that game, Luke Muscat, later went on to make another very popular mobile title, Jetpack Joyride, a game with a little bit more substance than slicing up your five a day, again a replayable, arcadey kind of game. Neither of them would likely be very popular today unfortunately, as it's a lot more difficult to have a breakout mobile hit, not to mention certain genres dominating digital storefronts. One such genre is roguelikes, and funnily enough, Muscat has actually made one such game, Feed the Deep, a horror roguelite all about exploring deepsea caves (thanks, GamesRadar). "Feed the Deep is a compulsive lovecraftian roguelike inspired by the likes of Dome Keeper and Spelunky," the game's about section on Steam explains. "***** into an ever-changing system of undersea caves. Collect resources that can be traded for upgrades and items. Explore ever deeper, managing dark spaces, limited oxygen, and hostile wildlife, and complete your mission to Feed the Deep." Muscat also notes that this new title was "built almost entirely" on their own, as a "couple of years ago I decided I wanted to try the ultimate game dev challenge and make a game completely solo." 17. The director of Cyberpunk 2077's sequel was apparently convinced he was getting fired right up to being asked to lead the follow-up. Cyberpunk 2077 lead quest designer Pawel Sasko is currently set to direct the controversial RPG's as-of-yet untitled sequel, an obviously big task that surely comes with on stresses (we all remember the state it launched in). But before Sasko even had the chance to experience those stresses, he had another one to deal with first. The CD Projekt Red developer recently spoke on the Flow Games podcast, where he spoke about whether or not he wanted to stay at the studio, or move on to something else (thanks, GamesRadar). "When you work in one company for a long time, there's always this moment where your career is kind of in the crossroads, and you're thinking 'should I enter another really big project with this company, or should I look for somewhere else to maybe learn new things?'" Sasko said on the podcast. It should be made clear that this wasn't a serious thought, because he "[loves] this company too much" but he did ask himself the question nonetheless. After all, he did end up being asked to move to the US to help start CD Projekt Red's new Boston-based studio to work on the sequel, which he described as being "given a chance of starting something new, but you're still in the same company." 18. Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail has some of the best dungeons and jobs the MMORPG has ever seen. Learning Viper is challenging, and the new dungeon mechanics can leave you scratching your head at first, but once you master the mechanics, Tural's offerings are top-tier. Now that we're at level 100, though, where do we go from here? How will FF14 remain challenging with a solid sense of progression? Well, developer Square Enix and director Naoki 'Yoshi-P' Yoshida are certainly thinking about it. Read the rest of the story... 23. If you're looking for a (very) heavy dose of nostalgia, the newly announced side-scrolling beat-'em-up The Karate ****: Street Rumble should do the trick. Got a classic 80s movie? Need to make a video game based on it but don't want to push the boat out when it comes to imagination? How about making a beat-'em-up! That's exactly what GameMill Entertainment has announced with The Karate ****: Street Rumble, a new 16-bit-styled (key word being styled there) title that is taking the 80s classic and turning it into a common genre of the era. As revealed on IGN, the game will let you play as Daniel Russo, Mr. Miyagi, Kumiko, or Ali Mills, and you'll be able to face off against the series' villains including Johnny Lawrence, John Kreese, Terry Silver, and others. It was specifically mentioned that it's set in the 1980s too, though, that point seems slightly moot given literally everything about the game. The game is obviously riffing on more modern beat-'em-ups like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, which came out in 2022 and was met with a generally favourable response. You can check out the trailer for Street Rumble above, which mostly does just look like your standard beat-'em-up. Perhaps the full game will have a bit more to offer, but right off the bat apart from the colourful sprites, it doesn't look like it will be doing all that much. Read more View the full article
