Following the news earlier this week that 241 Bethesda Games Studios staffers had formed what was at the time the biggest wall-to-wall under Microsoft, The Verge reports that over 500 World Of Warcraft developers have voted to form their own union, alongside the Communication Workers of America (CWA). Image: Team FOLON It’ll be some time before Bethesda releases a new Fallout game, but in the meantime, some enterprising fans have taken it upon themselves to release a big expansion for Fallout 4. The long-in-development mod Fallout: London is available now to download for free via GOG and is also compatible with the Steam version of Fallout 4. There is a catch, however: you need to be using the version of the game before the recent next-gen update. (A next-gen compatible version is also in the works, though it doesn’t have a date yet.) In development since 2019, the London mod introduces a new location and story to the postapocalyptic world, complete with fully voiced characters and 200 different quests. There’s an estimated 90 hours of gameplay... Continue reading… View the full article

Earth Defense Force 6, like the rest of the EDF series, is superbly wacky, kinetic, and imaginative. The co-op, arcade-style shooter is sadly becoming a relic, and I'm glad that Earth Defense Force is still alive - and still obliterating gigantic insectoid aliens en masse - in 2024. But despite its retro visuals and maximalist gunplay, the Earth Defense Force 6 Steam release has been marred by one particular technical wrinkle, similar to the PSN account linking snafu that scuppered the reputation of Helldivers 2. Currently lumbered with a 'very negative' rating on Valve's store, EDF 6 is having a tough launch day. Read the rest of the story... Those who didn’t spend their childhoods in arcades watching Ryu and Cyclops shake hands may be wondering what the big deal is, but for many, this was an announcement over a decade in the making. After getting a chance to take three of the seven games included in the collection for a spin at Evo 2024 last weekend, we’re feeling confident that this is going to be a return to glory for Capcom’s vaunted Vs. franchise, and another feather in the cap of a genre in full renaissance mode. The Pokémon Company is releasing a special Pikachu card to celebrate the 2024 World Championships, which anyone can get, even if you don’t attend the in-person event. The card is only available in certain regions, though, or through specific methods, so not every country can get their hands on it. World of Warcraft’s latest pre-patch just dropped in preparation for The War Within, and it’s totally tubular. Patch 11.0 introduces a buttload of bodacious features like Warbands and Skyriding, and one player discovered a “********” bug that lets you skate like Tony Hawk in Moonkin form. The WoW player shared their discovery in a July 25 Reddit thread. Skyriding is a gnarly feature that lets you use dynamic flight with most flying mounts in the game, but Redditor MarineQueefPrime discovered a ********’ interaction that happens when you land with a “surfing”-style mount, like a magic tome. The First Descendant's recent updates to a popular farming strategy proves the game's staying power. The First Descendant recently put out its 1.0.4 update. You might not remember it, but in early 2022, Netflix and 2K jointly announced the BioShock movie was back from the ***** and in active development. Later that year, we learned that Francis Lawrence (of I Am Legend and The Hunger Games fame) would be directing. Now, that's looking more and more unlikely. Up until recently, Lawrence has been openly chatting about the project and what his hopes and goals for it are, yet we're not convinced he'll be the filmmaker to journey down to Rapture once we look at his increasingly packed schedule. We do hope that notable scribe Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) stays on board though. Via Deadline, we've learned that production on the long-in-development big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk has finally started ********* with Lawrence in the director's chair.
