  1. Todd Howard revealed in a recent interview that Bethesda has no plans to remake classic Fallout games because he doesn’t think it can recreate their charms, and fans on X heaped praise on this decision. YouTuber MrMattyPlays conducted an hour-long interview with Todd Howard on June 16, asking the Bethesda director about the future and the state of their IPs. When asked about whether or not Bethesda plans to remake the classic Fallout games, Todd said, “I could argue that some of the charm of games from that era and the original Fallout is a little bit of that age. I would never want to sort of paste over some of that with, ‘Well, we changed how this works, so it’s more modern.’” View the full article

WWE 2K24 allowed players to choose from over 250 wrestlers at launch, making it one of the biggest lineups in the franchise's history. 3. After much anticipation, World of Warcraft finally reveals the full map of Khaz Algar, the new continent making its debut in The War Within. One of the most exciting things about watching World of Warcraft evolve throughout its long history has been the perpetual expansion of its world map. Players traveled to the distant corners of Azeroth, the shattered lands of Draenor, and even the cosmic realm of ******, as the blank corners of the map grew ever more crowded. The world of Azeroth is set to expand once again in The War Within, as players will make their way to the Isle of Dorn before descending into the depths below. 4. The development of DLC-sized Fallout New Vegas mod Fallout Nuevo Mexico has been officially confirmed to be "on hold", about two months after the mod 'went dark', with its YouTube channel, Twitter account and Discord server either having some content removed or ceasing to see regular updates. If you're out of the loop, Nuevo Mexico is a mod that was originally announced back in 2021, with the goal of taking New Vegas players on a fresh adventure set in and around the state of New Mexico just five years after the events of Interplay’s original Fallout game. Prior to April, it'd had a couple of pretty interesting-looking trailers, and its creators were giving interviews about their plans for the mod as recently as March this year. Following some questions being asked at the time the mod went dark and another bump in speculation as to its status earlier this week, Nuevo Mexico's head of public relations J.K-Serling has posted the following statement to the mod's Discord server. 5. When bringing gameplay mechanics from the core RPG Pokémon series like Gigantamax and Z-Moves to Pokémon Go, it can be tricky to recreate those experiences on a mobile phone, meaning players will have to wait for them to arrive. Both those examples are popular mechanics from different generations of titles and are right up there with things like Mega Evolution, which does exist in the mobile title. View the full article
  6. Player First Games releases update 1.04 for it's free-to-play platform fighter, MultiVersus. After shutting down last year, MultiVersus returned this past May with additional content like Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees as well as a dedicated PvE mode called Rifts. Since the game's return, developer Player First Games has continued to keep the game updated, both balancing the expansive roster of WB characters as well as addressing various issues that have cropped up. 7. Nostalgic Marvel vs. Capcom fans will be able to purchase a physical copy of the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics collection, as confirmed by Capcom itself shortly after it was officially announced during the June 18 Nintendo Direct stream. For the past decade or so, fans have been hoping for a rerelease of the seminal Marvel vs. Capcom games, with internet hashtags and noted gamers like Maximilian Dood and Micheal B. Jordan lending their support. Sadly, these hopes would remain unanswered, with the only recent rerelease being a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 arcade cabinet from Arcade1Up back in 2022. View the full article
  8. Great news, people in their late 30s and older, a new Spaceballs is in development, and it's even got Mel Brooks involved. Most of you young folk reading this probably haven't heard of Spaceballs, but that's ok, I've got you covered. The film originally came out in 1987, and was mainly a parody of the original Star Wars trilogy, though its references extended to other big pop culture franchises from the time like Alien, Planet of the Apes, and Transformers, amongst others. Now, a sequel is in development at Amazon MGM Studios, and Josh Gad is apparently set to star in the leading role (via Variety). He's also attached as a producer on the film, with Brooks, who directed the original roll, doing so as well. In terms of the rest of the crew, Josh Greenbaum is attached to direct, who's previously directed episodes of New Girl and Fresh Off the Boat. Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez co-wrote the screenplay alongside Gad, and Kevin Salter is serving as executive producer. Apparently it's still in early stages right now, and plot details are being kept quiet, though I don't exactly see spoilers for a sequel to Spaceballs being a big priority for people right now if I'm being perfectly honest. 10. Ubisoft has delisted Beyond Good and Evil on Steam ahead of an expected reveal of a remaster. A note on the Steam page for the cult classic adventure signals Ubisoft’s decision: “Notice: At the request of the publisher, Beyond Good and Evil is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search.” At the time of this article’s publication, Beyond Good and Evil ******** available to buy on GoG. Ubisoft has said it will announce more news about Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition during the Limited Run Games Showcase on June 20 at 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern 7pm ***. It seems likely a re-release is inbound. Looks like Uncle Pey'j has a message to share with you all... See you at the Limited Run Games Showcase on June 20th at 2pm EST for more news about Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition! : [Hidden Content] Big thanks to Hubert Chevillard for this little teaser [Hidden Content] — Beyond Good and Evil 2 (@bgegame) June 18, 2024 In August 2023, the Electronic Software Ratings Board (ESRB) rated Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Then, in November, Ubisoft accidentally released Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition early, blaming it on a "technical error” while confirming an early 2024 release window. Beyond Good & Evil first launched on November 11, 2003, so we’ve skipped past the actual 20th anniversary. In IGN’s 9/10 Beyond Good & Evil review, we said: “While it's over a bit before you'd want it to be, Beyond Good & Evil tells its story with amazing pizzazz and polish. Even better, it's a story well worth telling.” Meanwhile, Beyond Good & Evil 2 ******** missing in action after yet another no-show during the Ubisoft Forward event this month. 13. Gaming's greatest goat is back with Goat Simulator 3: The Multiverse of Nonsense DLC, which proved with a hands-on preview that a new map and story are filled with enough wackiness to keep its crown as one of the silliest cooperative multiplayer games around. The Goat Simulator series has challenged players to refrain from taking things too seriously with a huge, explorable world filled with minigames, pop-culture references, and more mischief than any farm animal should be able to handle. The Multiverse of Nonsense DLC takes it all up a notch. View the full article

  16. Looking at the Pax Dei roadmap shows just how early days the game still is in the eyes of the developers. Currently, it isn’t that discernable from many other games just like it, and a lot worse than quite a lot of them. However, there are some interesting plans afoot which could set it apart.Better buildingThe first point of focus for the team at Pax Dei is improvements to the building systems. Currently, although very beautiful, there are certain restrictions as to what can be built. Mainframe Industries hopes to expand greatly on the player’s freedom in the building. Image: YouTube RageGamingVideosThis is an important step for Pax Dei. It is clear that the team are keen to have the players themselves build the cities, towns and villages. For all this to be possible, there will need to be a vast array of models to use. As it stands, on the not-to-distant horizon, the Pax Dei roadmap is promising:Expanded building setsSignsGrapevine wall pieces...View the full article
