  1. ****** Myth: Wukong developers Game Science has grand plans for its smash-hit action RPG, with as many as 13 chapters originally in the pipeline before it eventually launched with just six episodes—though those missing seven chapters are reportedly set to land in player’s hands as DLC soon enough. Industry insider Lunatic Ignus has claimed Game Science is planning at least two DLCs for ****** Myth: Wukong in a Sept. 2 X (formerly Twitter) post, further delving into the game’s faithful recreation of the ******** novel Journey to the West. Lunatic Ignus said half the game’s chapters were ultimately cut “because of the budget” but that this unreleased content wasn’t left on the cutting room floor and will instead arrive as DLCs. 2. Once you reach level 80 in World of Warcraft: The War Within, lots of content becomes available, including the Gearing up for Trouble quest. Easy access to this particular quest doesn’t mean it’s easy to finish though, with many tripping up. Here’s what you need to know to start and complete Gearing up for Trouble. View the full article
  3. Ah, the light machine ****. Back in the Call of Duty days of old, there were some truly terrifying LMGs going around, but for many years now they’ve filled a niche and aren’t all that great in the modern day of fast-moving and close-quarter battling. ****** Ops 6‘s XMG feels incredibly slow compared to its ******** rifle or SMG counterparts, but it packs a big punch and, with a focus more on objective play than eliminating opponents, you’ll find that niche in this version of CoD very quickly. 5. Thousands of players are finally getting into Valve’s new title Deadlock, with the MOBA shooter attracting attention far and wide after its super-special “private” playtest opened earlier in 2024. It’s clear from the outset the game is far from finished, but that’s what a playtest is for! That said, many are keen to know just how far along Deadlock is in development since its rumored creation in 2023. Visually, it’s clear to see there’s work to be done—but with so many people enjoying the game, surely a release date can’t be far off? View the full article
  6. It’s not often a crossword throws me for a loop, but today’s NYT Crossword puzzle clue, “Old-style “Yikes!” has done exactly that. If you’re here, you’re probably in the same boat. This particularly tricky old-time clue appears at two down in the Sept. 3 NYT Mini Crossword puzzle today. I’ve now finished this crossword puzzle, but I’m still questioning whether this is a real word because it’s that old and unusual. View the full article
  7. Welcome to a Tuesday teeming with wonderful gaming deals and (in a minute) an important quarter-century celebration. Today is a pretty even mix of best preorder prices on the hottest stuff just around the corner and slightly older things that you never should have ignored. This being said, that tactic sure worked out well for you in the money department, o' Patient One. So kudos! In retro news, I’m celebrating the 25th birthday of Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. Though I had already played the absolute cartridge pins off Blue the year previous, I was powerless to resist this Pokémon the Series-inspired rejig of the originals. Mostly because it had everybody’s favourite electro-rat as a companion (plus distorted soundbites!), and I heard this version would also let me use a Game Boy Printer to generate a Diploma for catchin’ ‘em all. Incidentally, I still very much plan to export said credentials and use it on my resume to prove that I’m the very best (like no one ever was). Long-time CoD creators like TimTheTatman, CouRage, Cloakzy, Symfuhny, and TeePee partied up in an Aug. 2 stream to enjoy ****** Ops 6‘s multiplayer mode. At the start of a match on Skyline, CouRage tricked Tim into following him through a vent to the other side of the map to find an Easter egg.
