  1. Concord has been in freefall since its release, and a recent report has highlighted just how bad things have been, with the alleged sales figures failing to even clear Liechtenstein’s popuation. According to a recent IGN report citing several named sources, Concord has had astronomically low sales. In the article, analyst Simon Carless, who writes the GameDiscover.co newsletter, stated that Concord‘s total sales are currently about 10,000 units on Steam and about 15,000 on PlayStation 5. 5. Manifest dread in Magic: The Gathering was a new keyword action introduced through the Duskmourn House of Horror set. The manifest dread mechanic in MTG is a spinoff of the manifest keyword first introduced through the Duskmourn House of Horror set. Much like the original, the ability has a player lay a Magic card face down on the battlefield. But WotC buffed the action by also allowing you to look at the top two cards of your library, with one ending up face-down on the battlefield and the other getting pitched to the graveyard. Here’s how manifest dread works in MTG. View the full article
  6. ****** Myth: Wukong's world is littered with items and rewards to pick up, and one resource that the Destined One starts to amass quickly is gold. Buddha statues can be found throughout the ****** Myth: Wukong campaign, but in a setting that's often falling apart at the seams, structural integrity isn't particularly consistent. Pieces of Gold are chips from the faces of Buddha statues, with tiny pieces showing the eye of a Buddha, small pieces adding a broken cheek, and large pieces revealing half of a golden Buddha face. 8. A new ***** from Genshin Impact is teasing one of the first locations in Snezhnaya, with several pieces of dialogue referring to the Snezhnayan border village of Nordekalle. The in-game world of the HoYoverse RPG has expanded exponentially since the game first launched in September 2020, with plenty of new places to explore. The recent Version 5.0 update saw the addition of the first areas of Natlan, the sixth playable region added to the popular game. However, one particular corner of the game's map has been shrouded in mystery since its launch. View the full article
  9. Silent Hill 2 is a bit tricky to play these days, but the PC version's fan-made Enhanced Edition is finally complete. While you've been able to play the Enhanced Edition of Silent Hill 2, a to-be-honest half-remaster of the awful PC port of the game, for quite a while now, earlier this week the team behind it released the 10th and final update for it, somehow bringing in even more quality of life improvements to the already impressive overhaul. The whole goal of the project was to add in things like high def resolutions, upscaled images, widescreen camera fixes, and restored effects missing in the PC port, which it had already achieved as well as much more than that. Now, its final update is here, which includes "enhanced environmental assets, restored flashlight reflections, improved water visuals, true 60 fps FMVs, a ton of general game improvements, and more." In fact, you can check out a whole video about all the improvements in just this video, which runs at a beefy 70 minutes long. Some of the improvements look better than others, but for the most part it's a really strong piece of work that makes a classic game run great on PC, the only modern platform you can play it on. 11. After months of anticipation, Larian has finally revealed when Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 will be released on PC. Baldur's Gate 3 was one of the best games of 2023 by a distant margin, and it continues to improve through updates from developer Larian. View the full article
  12. Oh dear, while the Until Dawn remake isn't due out until October, it appears that there's already been layoffs at its developer Ballistic Moon. While an official statement is yet to be made by Ballistic Moon, as spotted over on Resetera, and the exact number of layoffs is yet made to be clear, a couple of developers from the studio have shared on their personal LinkedIn accounts that they have been made redundant. " Like many others in this wonderful but turbulent industry, I am sadly being made redundant from my role," wrote Cassy Cornish. The other developer, Harry Williams, shared that "after two exciting years working on the wonderful Until Dawn 2024 at Ballistic Moon I am unfortunately being made redundant as a Technical Designer. I've loved working with everyone at BM and hope I cross paths with members of that family in future projects!" At the time of writing, it doesn't seem that any other members of the team have shared word of being ***** off, but any which way it has obviously added to the tens of thousands that have taken place over the past year across the games industry. The studio was set up a few years ago, partially led by a former Supermassive Games dev, and the upcoming Until Dawn remake is set to be the studio's first title. As of now the game is due out October 4, but again, no word on how the layoffs might have an effect. Read more View the full article
  13. Gamescom 2024 revealed a lot about the upcoming DLC and expansion, Starfield Shattered Space, but even more details have been uncovered throughout the various interviews that Bethesda staff gave at the event. I've been playing Starfield since its launch, and hands-down, one of the best aspects of the game for me was designing my own ship. Although it's possible to avoid space travel throughout the majority of a playthrough, blasting ****** spacers out of space with my overpowered design made me appreciate this under-utilized aspect of the game. 15. After many months of waiting, it sounds like Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 is finally coming next week. Fans have been waiting on Patch 7 for quite a while now, and this week at the end of a PAX West panel covering the game's developer, head of Larian Swen Vincke confirmed that you can look forward to downloading it sometime next week. An exact date wasn't confirmed, so you'll still need to keep your eyes peeled for it in the meantime. Also important to note it that this patch will only be available on PC to start, with the official Baldur's Gate 3 Twitter account explaining, "With so many changes and new features arriving in this patch, it’ll take a little longer to get these to you on console and Mac - but don’t worry, you’ll be murdering your enemies and installing mods in no time." For some context here, this update is finally bringing in the oft-request mod tools, which should make it a lot easier for all you modders out there to make your own classes, spells and the like. Typically most console games don't get mod support, but similarly to how Bethesda has started allowing certain mods for its games on their console versions, Larian has also been working on getting mods to work on both the Mac and console versions of the game. 18. ****** Myth: Wukong has no shortage of challenging boss fights, but they're definitely not all equal in difficulty. Although none of the Yaoguai Kings found throughout the game are pushovers, there's a huge difference between the ones that only require a decent performance on the Destined One's part and the ones that unleash intense ******* chains that quickly punish minor missteps. When it feels like the Destined One is facing a wall, however, that's sometimes a sign that there's an easier way around things than just chugging medicines and having at it. View the full article
  19. In Once Human, fuel is an extremely valuable resource needed by Meta-humans to survive the harsh world. Portable Mixed Fuel and occasional crafting recipes are needed for your vehicles, such as the motorcycle. The Barreled Premium Fuel is even more valuable, needed for larger vehicles like your pickup truck and semi, and for crafting higher-level weapons for end-game content. View the full article
  20. You can stop arguing about where The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom fit on the timeline, as Nintendo has settled it. There are some Zelda games that are very obviously connected to another another in various ways, with titles like Majora's Mask obviously being a sequel to Ocarina of Time, and A Link to the Past, A Link Between Worlds, and Link's Awakening all featuring the same Link and Zelda. But for the most part, the timeline, despite being a thing Nintendo canonised with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia back in 2011, really isn't all that important. It's fun to think about the ways the games' respective histories might have influenced one another, but it's not that important - even still, people have argued about where Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom might fit on said timeline. As it turns it, they don't sit anywhere. As reported by Vooks, Nintendo appears to have shared a new look at Zelda's history at Nintendo Live 2024 in Sydney, where you can quite clearly see that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have been cordoned off from the rest of them. There isn't even a line in between them, suggesting they're not all that connected themselves, and considering how Tears of the Kingdom hardly acknowledges Breath of the Wild, that tracks honestly. 21. The most-requested Starfield feature might actually be a huge mistake. Since launch, many players have complained that Starfield isn't quite as fully-featured as they had hoped based on its trailers. While updates have taken steps towards fixing that, like by adding more detailed maps and planet rovers to Starfield, there's one major feature that's still missing, and doesn't look likely to be coming anytime soon.
