  1. Deciding what to prioritize in Cities Skylines 2 must be challenging. Since the city-building sequel launched in 2023, Colossal Order has had to fix performance issues, repair and improve fundamental aspects of the simulation such as the economy and building demand, and also mitigate the criticism aimed at the Beach Properties DLC. Almost 12 months since CS2 was released, however, I would like to think the developer can begin to focus on more intricate, micro elements of Cities 2. The new Cities Skylines 2 patch makes some pretty fine changes, but in an attempt to fix one of the game's most sensitive problems. Read the rest of the story... 4. PS5 console exclusive hero-shooter game Concord is shutting down on September 6. Concord was first revealed to the world this past May, and right off the bat, it struggled to generate interest. Many criticized the game for being yet another hero-shooter in what is becoming an increasingly crowded market, while others were not impressed with how it seemed to ape the art style of Guardians of the Galaxy. 7. Concord will be shutting down on September 6, only 11 days after it's release date. Players on the PS5 and PC will be offered full refunds for the purchase of the game, as the team responsible and Sony is going back to the drawing board to figure out what's next. 11. Our IGN First coverage of Dragon Age: The Veilguard is in full swing, and as part of our recent trip to BioWare we got to take an exclusive look at a brand new area that shed new light on its exploration, its companion sidequests, and more. The new gameplay, which includes commentary from co-directors Corinne Busche and John Epler, offers the clearest look yet at The Veilguard's moment to moment exploration, showing it to be much more open-ended than it appeared when it was first revealed. You can watch the full video right here. Taking place at a later point in The Veilguard's story, the journey begins in The Lighthouse — the hub area set within the Fade where you can spend time with your companions — and continues into the Crossroads, which is the area that connects up The Veilguard's various zones. It finishes in the Hossberg Wetlands, a zone almost completely consumed by the Blight — the Darkspawn *********** first introduced way back in Dragon Age: Origins. Indeed, the Grey Wardens — Dragon Age's version of the Night's Watch — figure prominently in this video, as do the Darkspawn themselves. But wait, these Darkspawn look a little different than before. What's up with that? According to Epler, The Blight is being used by one of the game's main villains as "crafting material" to enhance the Darkspawn, giving them a new look at The Veilguard. It's one of several ways that BioWare's upcoming sequel deepens Dragon Age's lore. Ultimately, though, it's Davrin, the Veilguard's resident Grey Warden, who is the star of this slice of gameplay. Rook, Neve, and Harding are in Hossberg to aid Davrin as part of his companion quest. Similar to Mass Effect, completing companion quests brings with it special rewards, including unique outfits, and can impact how their story plays out within Dragon Age's larger arc. The video includes a glimpse of Davrin's companion, Assan, an adorable griffon who can aid Davrin in battle (and of course you can hug him too). The rest of the video contains a multitude of details. Here's what to expect. An extended look at combat with the mage class featuring a qunari version of Rook, as well as the synergies and combo with Neve and Harding.Info on the Crossroads and how they fit into the overall exploration.Upgrading the shops of the various factions and the rewards that come with them. How the open-ended design of individual combat zones encourage players to return and discover hidden secrets, chests, and other rewards. What to expect from sidequests ("We don't want you to go out to do random tasks," Busche says). All told, the video paints a picture of an RPG that's very much in the BioWare tradition of character-driven adventure, featuring a hub and spokes design built around a multitude of extensive zones that heavily encourage exploration. In short, it seems far from the linear action game we worried it would be at the start. We'll have lots more info for you as our Dragon Age: The Veilguard IGN First continues, so keep it locked on IGN through the month of September. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be out on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on October 31. Kat Bailey is IGN's News Director as well as co-host of Nintendo Voice Chat. Have a tip? It's justified this time though, I swear. You see, Xbox has just announced the latest batch of Game Pass arrivals - the titles which'll be hitting the service during September - and they're almost all aimed at the particular genre of boring ******* I am, and that you may well be too. 22. Image: The Verge Earlier this year Apple started opening up its App Store to game streaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now, freeing them from being restricted to web apps on the iPhone and iPad. Despite multiple changes to Apple’s App Store guidelines this year, Microsoft and Nvidia have still not published native cloud gaming apps for iOS, and Microsoft is now detailing exactly why. Microsoft already said earlier this year that Apple’s cloud changes don’t go “far enough” for Xbox, but in submissions to the ***’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Microsoft now argues that Apple’s changes in January, March, and April to its App Store guidelines (section 4.9 and 4.7) aren’t enough for it to operate a native Xbox Cloud Gaming app on... 23. Those of you hoping to get the second season of Ahsoka any time soon might want to squash those hopes a touch. It used to be the case that you could generally expect one season of your favourite television show a year. But as time has gone on, with streaming services reducing general season lengths from 20 plus episodes long to 8-10, and making them more like mini-movies without any of the benefits that comes with that, you're having to wait longer and longer for new seasons. It's annoying, and it seems like the latest show to fall victim to this is the Disney Plus Star Wars series Ahsoka. Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Sabine Wren in the first season, recently made an appearance at Dragon ****, where she said she likely won't be appearing at the convention next year because she'll be filming Ahsoka season 2 by then. This doesn't sound like a bad thing to start because, yippee, more Star Wars, right? But, what it actually means is that production isn't starting until summer 2025, which means the show almost definitely won't be releasing until 2026. For those that don't know, the first season of the show aired in August of last year, so if the second season doesn't come out until 2026, that'll be a roughly three year gap between seasons.
