  3. On September 3, the Patch 11.0 campaign finale of World of Warcraft: The War Within was made unavailable for some players after Blizzard took it down to address some issues.   4. Payday 3 has revealed the official teaser trailer for its upcoming new heist. Officially titled ***** & Greed, Payday 3 players will soon be able to hit Wall Street, with the new heist asking players if it's time for some "insider trading." It includes a trilogy of games from the Nintendo DS era that show designer Koji Igarashi arguably at the height of his powers: the experiences combine smooth, satisfying action with worlds that are intricate labyrinths to be mastered slowly over time. The name of a new card called Meathook Massacre II was teased by MTG designer Mark Rosewater before the 13 days of Duskmourn: House of Horrors began. There are, however, plenty of changes that players should pay attention to in the Sept. 9 launch patch, including a new map being added to the pool. Spectre Divide is a unique take on the tactical first-person shooter genre, where players are thrown into a 3v3 battle, but can control two different avatars on the battlefield. Firewalk Studios Game Director Ryan Ellis said in an announcement Tuesday that publisher Sony will offer refunds to all players who purchased the game on PC or PS5. Sony may not need to pay out all that many refunds, in the grand scheme of these things. GameDiscoverCo analyst Simon Carless told IGN last week that he estimated an underwhelming 25,000 total sales for the game across PS5 and PC. According to the latest Steam Hardware Survey for August 2024, Windows 11 is now the default choice for gamers, knocking Windows 10 from the top spot for the first time since 2016. Windows ******** the dominant platform on the whole with a 96.78% overall share of users running Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7. Support for other platforms, including macOS and Linux, ******** reasonably steady, but still with under 3.22% of the total market share.   24. A new patch just went live in Overwatch 2, and it includes changes for four heroes. Unluckily (or luckily, for some), the changes are all nerfs. One tank, two DPS, and one support hero have all gotten hit with slight changes that will negatively affect their performance moving forward in season 12 and beyond. View the full article
  25. Another day, another indie studio shutting down in the gaming industry. But at least not all of their employees are being left out of their future plans. Hopoo Games, the studio known for creating the rougelite Risk of Rain and the stealth game Deadbolt, announced in a series of posts of X/Twitter yesterday that the heads of the studio along with several others will be working on a brand new game for Steam creator Valve. The thread didn’t go into any detail on what this new game will be about, this announcement came at the expense of the unannounced game “Snail”, which was cancelled as a result.
