  1. The longer-than-usual wait for Arcane season 2 has been rough, and chances are you'll need to rewatch the first set of episodes ahead of its November return to make sense of all the plot lines and characters involved, but its first full trailer is so good that it might send you straight into Netflix to do so. The first proper look at the long-anticipated second season runs for about two minutes and is jam-packed with even more drama, style, and action, which is everything we could've asked for after that wild season 1 finale. Just keep that s**t coming in. We already know this is the end of the line for Arcane, but the folks at Riot Games have fortunately stated in the past they're interested in expanding the world of League of Legends (Runeterra) beyond this one show, so we just have to hope for a new series as high-quality as this one, no matter the production time it requires. 3. ****** Myth Wukong developer Game Science is working on an Elden Ring-style expansion for the game ahead of any sequel. A Bloomberg report into Game Science investor Hero Games has revealed an updated sales figure for the smash hit ****** Myth Wukong, which set Steam concurrents records upon its launch last month. ****** Myth Wukong sold an eye-watering 18 million copies in just two weeks across PC and PlayStation 5, Bloomberg reported, making over $700 million in revenue so far. That’s enough to put ****** Myth Wukong up there with Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as one of the fastest-selling games of all time. In a subsequent tweet, Daniel Ahmad, director of research and insight at Niko Partners, said the $700 million figure is actually dated August 30, and that ****** Myth Wukong is now around the $800 million mark. That’s an astonishing return for a game Bloomberg reported had a budget of $70 million over six years of development. Fans, though, will be most interested in Game Science’s plans for ****** Myth Wukong now it’s out in the wild. While the developer has yet to say, Bloomberg’s report confirmed an expansion is in the works, with Game Science said to be following Elden Ring’s lead. Elden Ring, itself one of the best-selling video games of all-time, saw a significant expansion DLC called Shadow of the Erdtree launch in 2024, two years after the base game. From Bloomberg: “It won’t take another six years for the next chapter in what’s planned to be a series based on ******** mythology — though that won’t be a sequel, Wu [Daniel Wu, Hero Games boss] said. Game Science is working on an expansion to Wukong, which will give it a chance to monetize the game a second time. 2022’s Elden Ring, a title with similar play style and design, has shown how the release of an expansion — this year’s Shadow of the Erdtree — can spur a fresh flurry of sales for the original.” Last month, IGN verified an email sent from the ****** Myth: Wukong marketing team at Hero Games that told content creators who were granted a Steam key that they must not include “feminist ***********” or use what are called “trigger words” such as COVID-19 in their coverage. At the time, Hero Games ******* to respond to IGN’s request for comment on the matter, and Wu declined to comment when asked by Bloomberg. Game Science has yet to respond to IGN’s previous report compiling numerous sexist comments made by the studio's founders and other developers spanning the last decade. Meanwhile, ****** Myth: Wukong's delay on Xbox is due to an exclusivity deal with Sony and not a development issue with Microsoft’s consoles, a knowledgeable source has told IGN. This week, a Microsoft spokesperson issued IGN a fresh statement: "As we have said before, we’re excited for the launch of ****** Myth Wukong on Xbox Series X and S and are working with Game Science to bring the game to our platforms,” the spokesperson said. “We'd prefer not to comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders but we can confirm that the delay is not due to Xbox platform limitations that have been raised to us." IGN has otherwise reported on a super cool ****** Myth: Wukong secret that lets you summon one boss to beat another boss while you basically do nothing, and on how one optional boss encountered very early in the game is absolutely destroying players. While you’re here, IGN has plenty more ****** Myth: Wukong guides to help you out, including Essential Tips and Tricks, Things ****** Myth: Wukong Doesn't Tell You, and our Boss List and Guides. IGN’s ****** Myth: Wukong review returned an 8/10. We said: “Despite some frustrating technical issues, ****** Myth: Wukong is a great action game with fantastic combat, exciting bosses, tantalizing secrets, and a beautiful world.” Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. 4. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio plans to continue making Yakuza/Like a Dragon games about middle aged men doing "middle aged men things." Series director Ryosuke Horii told Automaton he's grateful for Yakuza/Like a Dragon's influx of new players, which includes younger people and women, but said the studio doesn't plan on changing its approach because of it. "We have had a large increase in new fans, including women, which we’re truly happy and grateful for," Horii said. "However, we don’t plan to do anything like deliberately changing conversation topics in order to cater to new fans." He continued: "We are middle aged guys ourselves, so I guess that’s the kind of target audience we’re going for, probably. I think this is precisely one of [the series'] selling points. In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, everything starts with three unemployed middle aged guys being like, 'Let’s go to [the job centre].' They have a different air about them than a group of young heroes would, complaining about back pain and the like. But this humanity you feel from their age is what gives the game originality." The Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, which had a confusing name change in 2022, focused on original protagonist Kiryu Kazuma through the first six games and prequel Yakuza 0. While he was just 20 in that game, Kiryu was 37 in the first Yakuza (which was remade as Yakuza Kiwami in 2016), 38 in Yakuza 2 (remade as Yakuza Kiwami 2), then 41, 42, 44, and eventually 48 in Yakuza 6. He appears in later games too, and continues to grow older alongside the series. Yakuza: Like a Dragon protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, who takes over from Kiryu in what's essentially Yakuza 7, is 42 in that game and 46 in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (essentially Yakuza 8). The series does feature plenty of characters who aren't middle aged men, but most of its main cast are. "The characters are flesh and blood human beings much like our players are, so their problems are relatable," Horii said. "That’s why it’s easy to really get into the game and feel like you’re listening to conversations between ordinary people. There isn’t any typical 'game-like' language like 'where is the treasure chest?'" Yakuza/Like a Dragon lead planner Hirotoka Chiba gave an example. "There’s a conversation where Adachi is conflicted about whether he should drink ***** or not because he’s worried about his uric acid level," he said. "We’re making the hearty talks of middle-aged dudes our identity, rather than youthfulness." Fans expecting a hard left turn in the next game, which is being revealed on September 20, may therefore have to think again. Adachi is conflicted about whether he should drink ***** or not because he’s worried about his uric acid level. It's unknown if this new game (or potentially games) is the next mainline Yakuza/Like a Dragon entry, another spin-off game like Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, another remake like Yakuza: Kiwami or Like a Dragon: Ishin, another game from spin-off series Judgment, or something else entirely, however. Publisher ***** did register a trademark for something called Yakuza Wars in August 2024, however, and RGG has already said fans will be "surprised" by the reveal. In our 9/10 review of the last game, IGN said: "Sprawling, enthralling, and packed with dynamic brawling, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth isn’t just the best turn-based Like a Dragon game, it’s one of the greatest games in the entire series." Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. View the full article

  6. With eight different subclasses, the wizard class in Baldur's Gate 3 has the most variety in its specializations. It also has the least class-specific features at each level-up, since it focuses on its expanded spellcasting. 8. The projector market is beaming bright right now, with brands constantly trying to lure media connoisseurs and gamers away from flat-screen TVs and monitors - which require a lot of space in your home. The Dangbei Atom laser projector marks just how far consumer technology has come in a few years, packing Google TV and that vast world of smart apps into a small box measuring just over 7 inches wide. The compact Atom was released at the beginning of 2024, and it cements ******** brand Dangbei as a serious maker of smart projectors for home entertainment. But how does it stack up against the best gaming projectors? In this review, I've put it to good use over several months to find out. One of the Atom's most promising perks is the 40-180-inch display size, meaning you can install it in pretty much any room with enough blank wall space (preferably of light or neutral ******). Its brightness is also high, while on paper, features like autofocus and auto-keystone are designed to help you create a perfectly sharp and shaped picture as and when you move the Atom about from room to room. On paper is one thing, but here are my experiences with the Dangbei Atom in real life. Read the rest of the story... 12. Genshin Impact may be introducing a new Mondstadt character in Version 5.5, as a recent ***** seems to depict the final design for a female 5-Star Catalyst. Despite being the first region introduced in Genshin Impact, Mondstadt has been woefully underrepresented in content updates following the launch of Inazuma.
