  4. Epic adding Tesla’s Cybertruck to Fortnite has sparked an unexpected wave of unity among players, and not quite in a way Tesla might have hoped. The vehicle, known for its controversial reputation and multiple recalls, has quickly become a target for frustration, with Fortnite fans today vowing to ******** any Cybertruck they encounter in-game. “******** on sight” has become a rallying cry, with players prioritizing the elimination of the infamous vehicle above all else. This sentiment was echoed by some of Fortnite’s own developers, initially sparked by Robby Williams. He shared his personal dislike for the Cybertruck, and his fellow producer Kyle Wynn also expressed his agreement, though they both later emphasized that these opinions are their own. 5. “Goose eggs” certainly isn’t a phrase I’ve ever used or heard, and it’s one of the more troublesome clues from today’s NYT Crossword puzzle—unless you’re a diehard sports fan. If not, that’s probably why you’re here. The “Goose eggs” clue is from the NYT’s July 26 mini crossword puzzle, and the answer may be a little surprising. Truthfully, what I thought this meant and what it actually means are two very different things. But you’ll find out about that kerfuffle later. 8. The League of Legends Mythic shop is constantly updating, giving players a second chance to purchase all their favorite Prestige Skins. The shop uses Mythic Essence, a rare currency obtained by spending battle pass tokens or opening chests. To help, here’s all the Prestige Skins that will soon return in this year’s League Mythic Shop. View the full article
  9. Thank your own personal deity—possibly Sheogorath—it's Friday! If you somehow haven't already taken the plunge, may I cheerfully suggest you go ****, repeatedly, in Elden Ring at a very low price? Alternatively, Humble has quite the quiver of sports games available, and Xbox folk can save a ton on a terabyte. Whichever way you do go, stay safe, save often, and I'll see you Monday. In retro news, I'm remembering the 23rd birthday of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, an N64 cartridge I still own that's now worth, ohhh, a kidney. Originally slated to be on the ill-fated N64DD and technically the sequel to Kirby's Dream Land 3 on SNES, Crystal Shards was a six-planet platformer that was the only title in the franchise to offer combinable copy abilities (Cutter, Spark, *****, Needle, Ice, Burning, and Stone). This rock solid (yet short and easy) solo campaign was bolstered by a decent 4P minigame assortment of 100-Yard Hop, Checkerboard Chase, and Bumper Crop Bump. 11. Counter-Strike 2’s glamorous IEM Cologne 2024 event won’t have any best-of-one matches, with organizers ESL today unveiling a more best-of-three-focused strategy today. Best-of-ones have long been among the least favorite tournament formats for many CS2 fans and even professional players like Adam Friberg, who was very vocal about hating the short-changed play almost 10 years ago. 25. Nobody Wants to **** begins with two 2010s storytelling flourishes that made me groan. First, we've got some ***** wife hallucinations up in here, the favored psychiatric symptom of tough guy protagonists everywhere. The second was the main character, whose name I already forget, making a noise like "Hnnnnrrrraaaaagggh" and looking down at his hands clenching and unclenching while the screen kind of pulses and goes all blurry. This guy has a terminal case of Xbox 360 FPS protagonitis... Read more.View the full article
