  4. If you’re unable to launch PUBG, join a multiplayer lobby, or load into a match, chances are you aren’t alone. Commonly reported in online games, server hiccups are usually the culprit behind such issues. PUBG is a popular online battle royale shooter with a significant player base. While Krafton is vigilant about server issues, maintaining large-scale systems to support multiplayer gaming across several regions isn’t easy. Bugs or other hiccups may creep in to disrupt the net code, causing unknown launch errors or crashes. View the full article
  5. We've seen quite a few 24-inch screens going for surprisingly low prices lately, but this latest Amazon gaming monitor deal brings a big-brand 27-inch monitor down to a rock-bottom price, enabling you to pick up a decent-size screen for just $139. It's not just a basic monitor either. This Asus TUF Gaming display not only has a 165Hz refresh rate, but it also supports the company's Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) tech to reduce image ghosting. The Asus TUF Gaming VG27VH1B usually costs $179, which is already a generous price for a 27-inch screen from a big brand, so it's great to be able to save a further 22% on it. This gaming monitor also shares some key specs in common with some of the best gaming monitor options you can buy right now, including the aforementioned ELMB tech. Read the rest of the story... 9. A new leaked character for Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 may be the first of their kind, according to leaks highlighting the superficial aspects of their alleged gameplay kit. In addition to that, players will still have to go through the entirety of Version 2.6, a patch that is confirmed to introduce Rappa in Honkai: Star Rail. 10. One of the most impressive mechanics in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is its Tyranid swarm technology. Built upon the tech used to power swarming zombies in developer Saber Interactive’s World War Z, it sees hundreds of the terrifying xenos swarm not only in the distance but close to you and your squad mates. It’s an incredible sight to behold: the Tyranid swarm crashing over the landscape in the distance and, closer to the player, clumping together to climb walls or emerge from higher-up platforms before assaulting the Space Marine squad’s position. It adds a sense of scale and impending ***** to Space Marine 2, and makes some of the game’s set pieces truly memorable. What’s more, you can actually ****** individual Tyranid units as they’re swarming and the game will register hits. You’ll see the red hit marker if you take **** shots at the swarm from a distance, and, if you lob a grenade or two, you’ll see Tyranids fly off as they’re caught by the **********. But as Space Marine 2 enters its third weekend on *****, players have begun to test the limits of its swarm tech, and have come to wonder how much of it is smoke and mirrors, and how much of it truly impacts gameplay. Some are now wondering whether ********* at the Tyranid swarm, whether it’s far in the distance or closer to home, has an impact on the number of Tyranids you have to actually face when they inevitably reach your position, of if you’re just needlessly burning ammunition in a game that, on ******* difficulties, is stingy with resources. In an exclusive interview with IGN, Saber Interactive chief creative officer Tim Willits, said the truth of the matter falls somewhere in the middle. Essentially, there is no point ********* Tyranids who are swarming in the distance, but there is indeed a reason to ****** Tyranids who are swarming closer, for example up a wall. ********* at them way off in the distance, you're just wasting bullets. Pro tip, don't do that! “So yes and no,” Willits began when we asked if the Tyranid swarm tech was just an illusion. “When the swarm starts to bunch, especially when they move up and down, there's this ******* where they bunch, and if you hit that you actually slow them down, which is critical, and you do reduce them. “********* at them way off in the distance, you're just wasting bullets. Pro tip, don't do that! But you can see where they can press. You can take those out, and then that will slow the swarm and then that will reduce when they fall. “Save your ammo. Wait until they bunch and then start ********* them. That's key.” So there you have it, as if the Emperor decreed it himself: save your bullets until the Tyranids are close enough for you to be sure they’re actually having an impact, otherwise, just enjoy the view. We’ve got plenty more on Space Marine 2 from our interview with Tim Willits, including the boost he expects the PS5 Pro will give the game, and how the breakout success of Space Marine 2 has “changed everything” for Saber Interactive. Meanwhile, Warhammer 40,000 superfan Henry Cavill has been playing Space Marine 2 and delivered his verdict, and we also have details on what fans can expect from Space Marine 2’s seasonal post-launch content model. Season 2 runs from October until the end of 2024, and includes a new Operations map, a new ******, a ******* difficulty level, a new *******, and various other improvements. Atlus' series of school JRPGs where you end up ******** **** is unlike anything else I've ever played, and they all have some of the most inventive mechanics I've ever seen. I used to be indifferent to turn-based games, but Persona 5 turned me around on the genre. I can easily say the same for the medieval setting, which often doesn't ***** me like I'd hope. 21. Mortal Kombat 1 developer NetherRealm decided on its next game three years ago, Ed Boon has confirmed. In a tweet, Boon said NetherRealm planned to support Mortal Kombat 1 “for a long time to come,” after an interview with ComicBook quoted the developer as saying “NetherRealm's next game has been in development for three years.” “Love the fact that there is excitement for our next game,” Boon later clarified. “And I don’t want to be a stickler for words... “But we haven’t been working on our next game for three years already. The actual quote was that we knew what our next game was going to be three years ago. “NetherRealm is still fully committed to supporting Mortal Kombat 1 for a long time to come.” Boon’s comments come as NetherRealm releases the Khaos Rising expansion for Mortal Kombat 1. It adds new story mode chapters available from September 24, along with Kombat Pack 2, which itself includes six new DLC characters: Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot (available on September 24), and guest fighters Ghostface (Scream franchise), T-1000 (Terminator 2: Judgement Day), and Conan the Barbarian (post-launch release timing to be announced at a later date). Mortal Kombat 1 itself has sold over four million copies since launching in September 2023. But what’s next? Most fans of the studio’s work expect it to release a third game in its DC fighting game franchise, although neither NetherRealm nor owner and publisher Warner Bros. has yet to confirm that. The first game in the series, Injustice: Gods Among Us, launched in 2013, with its sequel, Injustice 2, coming out in 2017. NetherRealm released Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019 and for a time it seemed like the studio would alternate between Mortal Kombat and Injustice games, but it went on to release another Mortal Kombat, the soft reboot that is Mortal Kombat 1, last year instead. In an interview with IGN in June 2023, Boon spoke in vague terms about this decision. "There were a number of factors, some of which I can talk about, some of which I probably shouldn't," Boon said. Two reasons Boon was willing to discuss were the unfortunate onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the team's choice to switch to a newer version of the Unreal game engine (Mortal Kombat 11 runs on Unreal Engine 3, whereas Mortal Kombat 1 runs on Unreal Engine 4). "But we did go to a new graphics engine, Unreal," Boon said. "We really wanted to be careful with COVID and all that stuff and everybody staying safe. So there were a bunch of variables involved that eventually we realized, 'Okay, let's do another Mortal Kombat game and hopefully we'll get back to the Injustice games.' " Just to be sure, we wanted to confirm with him directly that the door was not closed on the Injustice franchise. "Not at all," Boon answered. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN.
