  2. The last few weeks have made me feel like a gluttonous medieval king at a feast, but instead of a freshly shot pheasant or a pig with an apple in its mouth, I'm gorging on some great multiplayer games. Arc Raiders still has me hooked, ****** Ops 7 is the best that Call of Duty multiplayer has been in ages, and Battlefield 6 drags the series back to where it should be, offering some explosive, immersive, large-scale action. While the free-to-play battle royale spinoff, Redsec, gives you a taste of the BF6 experience, it's got nothing on actually playing a core Battlefield mode like Conquest, in my opinion. Now, a free Battlefield 6 trial will let you dive in even deeper, but it'll only be around for a week. Read the rest of the story... 3. There's a new terrifyingly quick deck in Magic: The Gathering's Standard format, one that can easily claim the win by turn three if you're not prepared to face it. This monocolored aggro deck relies on one of the most busted red cards from Avatar The Last Airbender, and it's triggered a 500% price rise for the Foundations card Bulk Up. This newly premium uncommon was previously selling for just 30 cents, but now a copy will net you $1.80, so go check your bulk (ha) boxes. Read the rest of the story... 4. Hytale was officially saved on Nov. 17 after it was reacquired by its original creators, who sold it to Riot Games in 2020. No longer in stasis, the Minecraft competitor could be out sooner than we thought, finally putting an end to a decade-long wait. If you're just as excited, you might have been wondering about how to preorder and how much it'd cost you. So, here's all you need to know. Hytale preorders, explained Image via Hypixel At the moment, preorders are not yet live for Hytale, though they should start soon. Per a Nov. 21 post, Hytale will have three editions, ranging significantly in price, all of which will be open for preorders in the coming weeks. The editions are as follows: Standard: $19.99Supporter: $34.99Cursebreaker: $69.99 The standard edition includes the base version of the game and all relevant content, whereas the Supporter and Cursebreaker editions are there for people to pitch in with extra funds to help the developers see the project through to the end. They'll contain unique cosmetics and other symbolic items as ways of thanking those who believed in the game despite all the setbacks it may have faced. The exact date at which the preorders will be open is still to be announced, but it's safe to assume it will be in the next few weeks. The game is slowly picking up steam and is likely to release early next year, if not by the end of 2025, which should reflect preorder timings. The post Can you preorder Hytale? 6. In all the thousands of hours I've spent listening to and reading Warhammer 40,000 novels, one little background detail has tickled me immensely - a romantic "pict-book" set on the "reputed paradise world of Krieg", called "My Wish to Generate Children with You is Only Exceeded by My Devotion to Him", and the only reference to a named romance or erotic novel I have come across. Its absurdity and lore implications delight me - and I'm daring the authors at ****** Library to make a replica of it so that fans in the real world can read it and, probably, be horrified at what they find. 7. In what is arguably one of the best deals of the year so far, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater has dropped to just $30 at Walmart for both PS5 and Xbox. That's $40 off the original list price of $70, and $20 less than the previous best deal from last week at Best Buy. What a thrill! ****** Friday deals of this caliber usually don't last long, so I'd pick it up while you still can. In Michael Higham's 8/10 review of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater for IGN, he said, "If I were to point someone to one of the many versions available, this is the one I'd recommend, whether they're revisiting or playing for the first time." It's also a game we consider to be one of the best video game remakes in general, so if you've been waiting for a good time to play it, now is the time to make your move. Just don't try Googling it, as the Delta/Δ symbol makes it an absolute nightmare. Thanks, Konami! Other top games that have recently been discounted at Walmart include Elden Ring for $15 on PS5 and Xbox, Sonic X Shadow Generations for $15 on Nintendo Switch, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for $30, and plenty more as well. The retailer has also undercut Nintendo's official *****, bringing games like Luigi Mansion 3, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, and more down from their original $39.99 ***** price, to now just $30. That's a huge additional saving, and what ****** Friday is all about. Amazon and Target have also already long started their official early ****** Friday sales, both of which will carry on all the way through to Cyber Monday on December 1. 8. Activision has revealed significant changes to the Call of Duty battle pass for Season 1 of ****** Ops 7 that should make progression a lot quicker. The battle pass has been the subject of much debate in recent years, with Call of Duty players often bemoaning how long it takes to unlock all its content — even if you pay for the premium version and, on top of that, the more expensive BlackCell version. In a new blog post, Activision said it had “taken learnings” from ****** Ops 6 battle pass completion times and made tuning adjustments for “a more satisfying journey.” The result is each season’s battle pass in ****** Ops 7 should be “more rewarding for your time spent in-game, no matter where you’re playing across all parts of the game.” So, how does this work? Earlier pages in the ****** Ops 7 battle pass can now be completed faster with fewer tiers needed to unlock High-Value Target (HVT) content at the end of the page, while later pages in the battle pass will contain more rewards. This means players will earn more HVT content sooner across all 100 tiers, Activision said. And, for the first time, Activision is adding the ability to earn battle pass tokens through completing daily challenges, which are now available not only in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone, but also Co-Op Campaign and Endgame. On certain days in the season, completion of your bonus daily challenge will grant you a battle pass token, which can be used right away to unlock a tier. Call of Duty players who regularly grind through the battle pass will welcome these changes, particularly the addition of earning tokens via challenges. That should speed things up by default, but it remains to be seen how progression overall will feel now the later pages of the battle pass have more content to work through. The Season 1 battle pass includes up to 1,100 COD Points, 11 operator skins, 26 blueprints and weapons, and 119 total rewards, 23 of which are free to earn, including two new base weapons. You can buy the battle pass for 1,100 COD Points, or get the battle pass bundle for 2,400 COD Points, which also grants you 20 Tokens to use. Earlier this week, new data showed ****** Ops 7 sales were lagging behind those of Battlefield 6 and even ****** Ops 6. Activision has yet to announce a sales figure for the game, or comment on its commercial performance. Microsoft has yet to say whether ****** Ops 7 boosted Game Pass subscriptions in any way. Activision is also in hot water with a member of the U.S. Congress, who called out the company’s use of generative AI in Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7, demanding tighter regulation to "prevent companies from using AI to eliminate jobs." If you're hunting for the best offers this week, we're actively rounding up the strongest ****** Friday deals on video games, tech, and more. 10. Recently, Grand Theft Auto 6 was delayed a second time, pushing the highly anticipated game's release to November 19, 2026, instead of its original May 2026 target launch. 17. Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7 developer Treyarch Studios has announced some major changes to the game's seasonal Battle Pass ahead of its big Season 1 update on December 4. 18. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has its big 11.0 patch, which adds a long list of new features to the explosive action game. New features include a new PvE map set on an Imperial cruiser (Reclamation), a new piece of PvE equipment (Sanctified Wrath), and six new heroic weapons and eight armor pieces to unlock with accolades. Meanwhile, 11.0 adds the Blood Angels Champion pack (Tactical Champion + Jump Pack for Assault + Signature Chainsword Skin), a Salamanders Cosmetic Pack, and Chaos Customisation in PvP. As for balance changes, Assault has a new feature: a set of Jump Pack Dash attacks that are much quicker and responsive than normal sprint attacks. In the patch notes, publisher Focus Entertainment said the developers at Saber Interactive plan to continue expanding and improving sandbox gameplay for all classes, with Tactical and Vanguard coming next. However, they won’t make Patch 12 because the focus there is the new class, the Techmarine. And here’s an interesting one: the developers have increased the netcode damage cap, knowing full well it will “open a huge can of worms for gameplay balancing.” “But it has to be done,” they continued. “The game damage numbers should not be restricted by net code and should be accurate all of the time. We will be monitoring which builds and perks combinations will become problematic. It's pretty clear that some damage buffs combinations from multiple sources are already insane (looking at you Blocking Power Fist). For now, have fun.” Updates continue for Space Marine 2 even as development on its follow-up, Space Marine 3, is in full swing. Saber has insisted the games are not competing for resources internally, and in August revealed Space Marine 2’s second year of DLC, confirming patches 10 all the way up to 15. Patch 15 takes players up to the end of the second quarter of next year (June 2026). Highlights include the new Techmarine class, now set for release during the first quarter of 2026, a new Battle Barge expansion during the same *******, and a new Siege map coming Q2 2026.
