  5. You know the emergency lights are blinking at Bungie when the developer starts putting out balance changes with triple digit percent buffs in a bid to lure Destiny 2's dwindling playerbase back. That was the case with yesterday's ability tuning blog, which saw the Hunter class eating especially well. (About time too.) Today, attention turned to next week's Renegades launch, in the form of a live stream breaking down what to expect from the Star Wars-themed expansion... Read more.View the full article
  6. FC Pro Open's Matchday 2 brings another Mystery Nation objective to Ultimate Team, and FC 26 players can complete the task to get freebies. If you're still unaware of the concept, this guide will help steer the way. The trick is to guess what the mystery nation is, and then complete a task with a player from the same one. 7. Destiny 2: Renegades launches next week, and I'm still relatively unsure how to feel about the "Star Wars-inspired" expansion. Renegades still feels to me like Bungie just said "hey, Star Wars is cool, let's do this partnership" just because it could, regardless of how it may fit into the Destiny 2 story. Having blaster weapons and light sabers in Destiny is possible, sure, but it still feels kind of off. But now, I'm not so sure I care anymore. [Hidden Content] After today's live stream and ViDoc, I feel more excited about the game than I have in a very long time. I'm still not fully sold on it, but the John Williams-esque soundtrack, good vs. evil sword battles, and being an outlaw in wild space entice me after all. Renegades has its "Jedi" in Aunor, and its "Sith" in Dredgen Bael (who sounds like he's trying to emulate Adam Driver as Kylo Ren a bit too much for my liking), and it looks like they will come to blows with their "lightsabers" (Praxic Blade, a new Exotic sword). And for the first time, I felt moved. I have some Star Wars burnout like seemingly everyone else, but lightsabers are always going to be cool. Destiny has had swords for many years now (about 10, actually), but the ability to swing and sway the blade to deflect incoming fire is just so naturally Star Wars and out of place in Destiny, but it's so cool that I don't mind how out of place it may be. The Lawless Frontier activity is one of the big new additions in Renegades, where you as a Guardian are taking on "shady jobs" in the lawlessness that has become Mars. This includes being a Bounty Hunter like Boba Fett, hunting down high-value targets, and getting loot. This feels more Destiny-ish to me, so sign me up. I have no idea if, or for how long, Renegades will hook me back into Destiny. This summer's expansion, The Edge of Fate, was fine, I guess. But according to Steam, I haven't opened the game since August. And judging by SteamCharts, I am not alone. Image via Bungie I'm still relatively sure my days of Destiny 2 being a habitual game that I play multiple days a week are over. I'm just hoping for a good story to move things forward after The Edge of Fate's revelations, and I don't know if this Star Wars-themed stuff is going to do it. For now, I'm cautiously optimistic that Renegades will be cool enough and Star Wars enough (but not too much) to bring me back in the fold, so I'll be there on launch day Dec. 2 to try it all out. The post Destiny 2’s Star Wars-flavored Renegades DLC still doesn’t make sense to me, but I can’t deny how badass it looks appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

  12. Holy cow, when did eurogames get so beautiful? That's the dominant thought coursing through my grey matter when I look at the Kickstarter page for The Great Library, the newly announced strategy board game by Eagle-Gryphon Games. 13. EA and Battlefield Studios have launched the first Battlefield 6 free trial, giving new players on PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Xbox Series X | S the chance to try Season 1 multiplayer maps and modes all Thanksgiving week. The limited-time event runs from today, November 25, at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET to December 2 at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET. It’s a scheduled test ******* for anyone wondering if the new Battlefield is worth it, following what EA has called the most successful launch in the FPS shooter franchise’s history. “We are extremely proud of what our amazing teams at Battlefield Studios have accomplished and tremendously excited about the community’s passion as we continue to build Battlefield for and with our fans,” general manager of Battlefield Byron Beede said in a statement. “Today’s launch of a free trial for Battlefield 6 is the perfect opportunity for new players to have the All Out Warfare experience that millions of players around the world are raving about.” As detailed in a blog post from EA, the Battlefield 6 free trial week offers three playlists for new players: Initiation Breakthrough, Close Quarters Battle, and All-Out Warfare. The first is meant to ease newcomers into the entry’s destructive gameplay with 48-player matches mixed with real-world people and bots. Close Quarters Combat focuses on fast-paced gunplay in smaller maps with Team Deathmatch and Sabotage modes. Finally, All-Out Warfare presents Battlefield 6 multiplayer unrestricted, giving free trial players access to Conquest, Escalation, and Breakthrough modes on the biggest maps it has. The free trial isn’t quite the full Battlefield 6 Season 1 experience, but it does give players a chance to try out its core gameplay without leaping into a $69.99 purchase (or a little cheaper if you act fast). Maps players can expect to enjoy through the free trial playlists include Siege of Cairo, Blackwell Fields, and Eastwood. EA has also clarified that those who have enjoyed Battlefield REDSEC, which introduced free-to-play battle royale and Gauntlet modes when it launched late last month, will notice their progress carries over to the Battlefield 6 free trial. Additional progress made during the trial will also carry over to the full experience, should a player choose to purchase the full game. Those who log in to either experience by November 30 also gain access to the free long-range Lethal Force Weapon Package. Battlefield 6 launched for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S October 10, 2025. BF Studios has pushed frequent updates since, with patches adding everything from new Season 1 content, such as the Blackwell Fields and Eastwood maps, to a laundry list of gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, lighting improvements, and more. Arriving alongside these changes is news that the new Battlefield game managed to secure the best month of sales for any game in the U.S. in the last three years.
