Avowed is finally out and available to everyone, with pre-ordering players having the chance to explore the world of Eora in first person a tad earlier than others. Thus, sentiments around the game have already formed, with some believing Avowed‘s lack of traditional RPG elements actually makes it great. A series of threads on Reddit and other platforms have cropped up since the game launched in early access on Feb. 13, culminating with the game’s official launch today. In one discussion, a player argued how Avowed feels like an “RPG in Arcade Mode,” explaining how it “streamlines fun,” not hanging up players on things like searching for ammo for ranged weapons or a thievery system. They added how the game is beyond accessible, with tediousness and proper RPG elements left out in favor of simple, addicting fun. Those responding to the thread generally agreed with OP’s views, with one player saying how they hate when “half [of] their gameplay is managing inventory and tedious puzzles.” View the full article
PC gaming handhelds come in all shapes and sizes now, but this N97 Elite from Sugar Cubes might be one of the smallest that actually works. Taking inspiration from the classic Nokia N97 sliding cell phone, this clever device drops the full keyboard for simple gaming controls, and while it won't be challenging the Steam Deck for power, it's a fun novelty item that has me very curious. Many of the best handheld gaming PCs have to balance power, practicality, and compatibility. This is where the Steam Deck excels, as it's far from the most powerful handheld on the market, but it makes up for it elsewhere. The N97 Elite, as intriguing as the concept is, would ultimately fall short on all three fronts, but it's a nice trip down memory lane for someone who once bought a very similar phone only to discover how woefully impractical it was. Avowed has plenty of hidden items you can find, including the Robe of the Arcane Cheater, whose location is hinted at through a treasure map. Your character can buy or find treasure maps throughout your adventures, which give you clues about where certain loot can be found. Anyone can narrow down where this particular treasure rests by recognizing certain landmarks on a map. View the full article

It's been over four years since RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition first launched, and now more platforms are finally on the horizon. Atari is bringing the sim to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on March 20, 2025. The Complete Edition previously made its way to PC and Nintendo Switch in September 2020. Turning back the clock even further, the original Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. That certainly lands it firmly in the "nostalgic" camp for some at this point, and you can stoke those rose-tinted fires with the announcement trailer below. [Hidden Content] As its title suggests, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition includes the third entry in full HD along with the content from the expansion packs. The Soaked! expansion is all about water parks and the Wild! expansion has you throwing animal habitats into the mix. The full package here seems right in line with previous versions, so don't go into the PlayStation and Xbox ports looking for anything new. The rest is more or less just how we all remember it. You'll be tasked with managing everything from staff to shops as you attempt to grow your theme park. Or, if you just feel like going wild, you can hit up sandbox mode and build the park of your dreams without worrying about a ballooning budget. When Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition launches on PlayStation and Xbox next month, you can strap in for a one-time entry fee of $29.99. There's also a 20 percent discount in place for those who preorder. The post RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition finally has a date with PlayStation and Xbox appeared first on Destructoid. While Activision-Blizzard’s been silent about a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster, it seems that an actual professional skater has revealed it’s the works. Tyshawn Jones, the skater in question, said that he will feature in the remastered version as he was also in the first remaster batch. As reported by Insider Gaming, Jones spoke on the New York 105.1 FM radio network on Feb. 18, and revealed some interesting details regarding this mysterious Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster, which would likely be 3+4, released in a similar vein to 2020’s 1+2 remaster. “Tony Hawk’s that’s coming out,” he said, adding that “they’ve got a new one they [are] remastering.” According to Jones, this new remaster is also coming out soon. Jones also featured in the first 1+2 remaster as part of the devs’ effort to pay homage to the current skateboarding scene, seeing as the first game in the franchise came out 26 years ago, so him being involved in any new THPS projects make sense. Call of Duty’s Season Two Reloaded update drops into ****** Ops 6 and Warzone in just a few days, and the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be a part of it. The classic heroes, along with some other characters from the franchise, will be invading CoD as part of store bundles and a new event pass, meaning if you want to re-live your glory days of TMNT childhood (me, this is about me), you will need to pay up. I am torn, because the turtles look incredible and I think Activision did a phenomenal job bringing them to CoD’s art style and aesthetic. View the full article

Monster Hunter Wilds adds various new tinctures of wyvern, toad monster and arachnid to the fantasy creature chopper's vaunted eco-stew, but that additional variety isn't quite apparent from the weapon types. They're fancier-looking with tweaked or expanded movesets, but it's a familiar line-up beneath the additional layers of flesh and metal. I recognise most from my ancient PSP copy of Monster Hunter Freedom 2, released in 2007. Capcom have thrown in a few novelties such as Monster Hunter 4's Insect Glaive over the intervening years, but according to Wilds director Yuya Tokuda, the developers currently feel it's more important to trick out and rebalance the existing wargear than give you entire new ways to play.
