  1. As a MOBA, League of Legends is heavily reliant on pinning your opponents down, hindering them with either slows, stuns, or other debuffs to stop them from running rampant. To calculate any given player’s efficiency in controlling the opposing side, Riot Games implemented the infamous Crowd Control Score. However, not everyone understands precisely what it is nor how it’s calculated, so here’s everything you need to know about Crowd Control Score (CCS) in LoL. View the full article
  2. Welcome to a hump day of high percentage discount opportunities. Cases in point include a hellishly good Hades price and a slam dunk on NBA 2K25. My antiquated self is also all about 80% off Oblivion GOTY and the rather timeless Batman Arkham Collection. Failing all those, go score a cheap FFXVI, GTA V, or some other acronym that will befuddle any non-gamers who have stumbled into this article by mistake… This Day in Gaming In retro news, I'm celebrating the 16th birthday of House of the Dead: Overkill which (at 189 f-bombs dropped) is one of the sweariest video games ever made. Hilariously, it was released first on the more family-friendly Nintendo Wii console and eventually morphed into a kick ***** edutainment game that taught you typing... via profanity. Bravo, *****. 6. Now that we know more about how Elden Ring Nightreign actually plays after its recent network test, you're probably starting to coordinate friend groups to play the co-op title on release. You're probably wondering, does Elden Ring Nightreign have crossplay so you can play with friends on other platforms? Let's take a look. Screenshot by Bandai Namco Is there crossplay in Elden Ring Nightreign? Unfortunately, FromSoftware has confirmed that there will be no crossplay support across platforms. There will be support for generational crossplay between platforms, which means PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can play together, as can Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. However, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players won't be able to play together, and PC players will only be able to play with other PC players. This means if you want to play with friends, you will all need to be on the same platform. On the plus side, Elden Ring Nightreign appears to be following the same release plans as Shadow of the Erdtree which means it will be released globally on all platforms at the same time. If you and your friends all agree on the same platform to play on, you shouldn't have any issues playing together come release. Is there PC cross-platform support? At the moment it appears Elden Ring Nightreign will only be available on Steam when it comes to PC. As such, there will not be PC cross-platform support because it is only available on one PC platform: Steam. This is to be expected as the base Elden Ring game and Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are both only on Steam as well, most likely due to the multiplayer features of the game utilizing Steamworks and Steam servers. It's important to note that based on this logic, matchmaking in Elden Ring Nightreign will platform-specific as well, meaning PC players will not be matchmade with console players and vice versa. 10. There is a lot of conflicting lore in The Sims franchise, especially related to its timeline. The first three games are meant to span a 50+ year timeframe. But, with so many advances between the 2000 release date of The Sims 1 and the final Sims 3 expansion in 2013, many aspects don’t make sense. Some of this is Maxis’ purposeful doing. The third game is meant to take place first in the timeline, but still makes use of modern technology and norms. View the full article

Tracking them all down can be a challenge, but you don’t want to leave the first area, Dawnshore, before you find every unique weapon, armor, and accessory available. Some of these items are only available in quests, and you might only get them if you make certain decisons. There’s a chance you could miss out on them depending on if you side with a particular individual, and you’ll want to weigh the outcomes of a quest with this in mind. Here’s what you need to know about where to track down all Dawnshore unique weapons, armor, and accessory locations in Avowed. View the full article
  12. Rocket League esports developed almost instantaneously following the game’s launch in 2015. Since then, we’ve seen hundreds of players come and go, but only a few dozen have made a lasting impact. Today, we rank the greatest Rocket League players ever. Rocket League was released in July 2015, and the game was quickly identified as a potential esport. Tournaments started popping up that same year, and by July of 2016, we’d already crowned the first Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) champions. The scene has developed tremendously in the decade since, and has produced some of the most legendary names in all of esports. View the full article

  15. Most PC games that you can play on a modern PC would run faster on an Nvidia RTX 5080 or 5090 than, say, a GTX 1070. But some games, from a particular phase of enthusiasm for particles, destructible environments, and smooth-moving hair, will take a notable hit if their owners upgrade to the latest Nvidia cards. That's because PhysX, once a dedicated physics simulation tool and card that became a selling point for Nvidia's gear, has been largely deprecated on Nvidia 50-series cards. The transition was announced in January, but it seems to have taken some time for someone to notice the impact on 32-bit, PhysX-enabled games (as seen by PCGamesN). The most recent of these affected games, Assassin's Creek IV: ****** Flag, came out in 2013. What follows is a brief primer on PhysX: what it was, what it did, and why it's left out of Nvidia's road map. Read full article Comments View the full article
  16. Tape 1 of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is filled with 90s nostalgia for simpler summers spent with friends, and a little bit of weirdness thrown in for good measure. All friend groups need a base of operations, and what better than a creepy cabin in the woods? Admittedly, it wouldn’t be my first choice for a hangout spot, but if you have a penchant for spooky things and don’t mind a hefty amount of spiderwebs, it’ll do in a pinch. About halfway through Tape 1 (scene 13, if you want to go back and replay in Collectible Mode), you’ll come across a derelict cabin in the middle of the woods. Unfortunately, you must get through the door before you can make it inhabitable, which proves problematic. First, you need to get Swann in through the window, and then you’ll need to figure out the combination for the lock on the door. How to get into the Cabin in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Screenshot by Destructoid Once you’ve found the cabin, spend some time investigating the area and pull out the camcorder to capture all of the Collectible Memoirs in the area, then make your way to the back of the cabin itself. Here, you can move a loose section of planks out of the way with Kat’s help to reveal a window. The window is boarded up, so you’ll need to find something to pull the boards off. There are plenty of things to interact with around the area, but the item you need is a hook, which is located on the side of the nearby outhouse. It’s easy to find by standing at the window and moving directly backward. When you find the outhouse, you can give Kat a boost, and she’ll pull the hook down and then hand it over. Cabin door lock combination in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Screenshot by Destructoid The strange lock inside the cabin door (which isn’t worrying in the slightest) needs four different symbols to unlock. These symbols can be found throughout the cabin itself, so get ready to explore your surroundings. Thankfully, there is an instructional page attached to the central wooden column of the cabin: Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid You can completely ignore the first instruction that shows a door because the first symbol on the lock is permanently locked in place due to decay. This means you only actually have to worry about three symbols, which is a bonus. The second picture shows a ladder, but looking around the cabin initially, you’ll find there isn’t one in sight. To find it, ou’ll need to interact with the pull of the loft hatch close to the window where you initially entered. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you reach the attic, do a 180 and locate the Moon symbol on the lower right section of the wall behind you. This is the symbol needed for the second lock slot. The third image on the instructions shows a collection of cans, which you’ll need to find within the cabin. Directly below the loft hatch, you’ll see a variety of kitchen items to interact with. Locate the red can hidden behind some spiderwebs, and then rotate it to find the Leaves symbol on the bottom. Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid The fourth and final symbol might confuse you, thanks to the gun shown on the instructional page. The gun should not be taken literally; it is instead a symbol for the more general theme of hunting. The only hunting paraphernalia in the cabin is a Bear Trap on the far wall, and the final symbol of some Stars can be found behind it. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you’ve found all of the symbols, you can then interact with the front door and enter them in the following order to unlock the front door, letting Kat, Autumn, and Nora into the cabin: Second dial: Moon Third dial: Leaves Fourth dial: Stars The post How to get into the cabin in the woods in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage appeared first on Destructoid.
