  1. Bethesda’s former head of publishing, Pete Hines, has said he decided to quit the company because he felt that The Elder Scrolls publisher is “part of something that is not authentic and is not genuine”. Hines quit Bethesda in 2023, after 24 years at the company, shortly after the release of Starfield, which was its first game since Microsoft acquired its parent company ZeniMax Media in 2021 in a $7.5bn deal. Speaking in a frank interview with Firezide Chat, the former Bethesda veteran claimed that it was always his intention to leave the company after Starfield shipped, and suggested that he was unhappy with the direction of the company, post-Microsoft acquisition. 11. The School Room is one of six shelters available in Road to Vostok, and it's arguably the hardest one to unlock. The condition is tied to finding three Oil Samples that are all located on the Terminal map. The Terminal is in Vostok, which is a permadeath zone. In simple words, your game is truly over if you die. Let's figure out how you can find these samples to get yourself a shelter in Vostok. How to get Oil Samples in Road to Vostok Before we deep dive into the process, the School Room can be unlocked with a key. You can get this key if you're lucky. Whether you find it or not is based on your luck, but you don't have to work hard to find the samples. If you don't want to rely on your luck, read on. The Oil Samples are all located on the Terminal map, so you'll need to have access to Vostok. From Outpost, you'll first need to go to Minefield. This is an extremely dangerous area as it's filled with mines. To reduce your risks of dying, you should stick to the edge of the map. You'll still find mines, but they will be fewer in number. The mines, honestly, are not a big problem if you're careful. The actual problem is the AI enemies that patrol these locations. Once you reach the Apartments from Minefield, you'll be able to reach the Terminal. There are several NPCs that can shred you if you're not careful. Image via Road to Vostok Ideally, you'll want to use one of the large tanks in Terminal to scout the area. However, I have always found enemies patrolling them, which means that you'll need to be on your toes. To make matters more difficult, the exact locations of the tanks will be different. However, the samples will always spawn at the Terminal, which is some solace. You can bring all three together or across multiple runs. Finding all three in a single run is difficult, but going to the Terminal multiple times isn't fun either. Image via Road to Vostok Typically, you'll find these samples near and under the pipes in Terminal. I found them between the large tanks, and yes, there are enemies around. Hence, you'll have to be swift when adding the samples to your inventory. Once you manage to bring all three samples, you'll be able to unlock the School Room shelter. It's the best choice if you're looking to farm medicine, which is almost always necessary to have. Hence, the risk is worth the rewards. However, just go the lucky route and hope to find the key from random drops if you don't want to risk a permadeath. There are five more shelters you get to unlock to save your resources and in-game progression on your journey. Horus Mask: Celestial WingsAnubis Mask: Doomsday JudgmentSobek Mask: Abyss OverlordAmun-Ra Mask: Glorious Hymn The Horus Mask, aka Celestial Wings, is unlocked by default. It's the first new mask you'll receive when you start falling from the sky. You won't have to do any extra work to grab the mask, which also allows you to fly in Mimicry mode. However, obtaining the remaining ones isn't so simple. Sobek Mask: Abyss Overlord Image via Qooland Games To obtain this mask, you'll have to defeat the pyramid boss at the Three River Junction. It's near a portal named Barren Sandland, and you'll find the Ancient Pyramid near it. This is where you'll encounter Sobek, and it's a difficult battle at the start of the DLC. Once you defeat Sobek, you'll get the mask. The Abyss Overlord is extremely useful for underwater survival. You'll have a ******* pool of Oxygen that allows you to breathe longer. You'll also swim faster and reduce the incoming damage from arrows. Once active, you'll also recover HP from self-healing, along with 20% Crit buff. Anubis Mask: Doomsday Judgment Image via Qooland Games To get this mask, you'll have to defeat Anubis near Sunken City. There's a mysterious portal that you can use for fast travel. You'll find an Ancient Pyramid to its north, and you'll get the key to a nearby pyramid that contains the mask. When in Mimicry mode, you'll change into Anubis, and there are several benefits. The duration of all bandages when you apply them will be increased by 50%. If you get affected by status effects, it will be inflicted on the target instead. Killing marked enemies in Mimicry mode will raise as your undead army to fight beside you. Amun-Ra Mask: Glorious Hymn Image via Qoogames Games To get this mask, you'll have to head north of the river junction all the way to Rock Lake. There, you'll find the Rock Lake mysterious portal, with an Ancient Pyramid to its north. Head inside, and you'll find the Scarab boss. Defeat the boss, and you'll get the Glorious Hymn. The mask can convert solar energy to enhance your abilities. You can use the laser energy to expose the weak points of enemies. When you're in Mimicry mode, it will create energy pulses. These pulses deal damage to enemies when they're within a certain radius. You can also use the ability to burn enemies in front of you and deal damage over time. 23. Call of Duty, undoubtedly Activision's biggest franchise, has been part of Game Pass' Day One program since 2024. Two titles so far were available on release for Game Pass subscribers, but that could soon be wrapped up, according to Jez Corden. Corden, a reliable leaker of all things Microsoft, said in a stream last night that CoD could soon be taken out of Game Pass' Day One program, which'd make the franchise no longer available for subscribers on release. Being such a massive franchise, this would surely have a massive impact on the viability of higher Game Pass tiers, behind which Day One is currently locked. And Corden seems to think as much, saying "cracks" will inevitably start to show in Microsoft's gaming strategy if Call of Duty is taken out of Xbox Game Pass, which is becoming more and more certain as time goes by. "If [Microsoft takes] Call of Duty out of Game Pass this year, which is a possibility from what I've heard, I think it'll reveal some of the cracks in [its] strategy," Corden said. [Hidden Content] In response to a viewer commenting on the decline of Microsoft's gaming revenue, Corden said that "revenue is down because Call of Duty is down," which isn't only due to its availability on Game Pass but also its overall decline in quality and the rise of alternatives like Battlefield 6 that far outshone Activision's established, formulaic franchise. By removing CoD from Game Pass, Microsoft stands to "motivate" eager players to purchase the game instead, at no less than $70, potentially boosting the company's gaming revenue at least during the peak of CoD sales around launch. Offering it on Game Pass on release day inevitably weakens the franchise's strongest moment, so I could see the logic behind such a move. Nothing official has yet been published by either Microsoft or its subsidiary, Activision, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Game Pass has been shown, time and again, to heavily impact game sales, especially if a title is part of the Day One program or comes to Game Pass shortly after launch. Players are apparently ready to wait for a week or two to get the game via subscription rather than to buy into it immediately, severely hampering sales and player counts. The Outer Worlds 2 is a recent AAA example, as that game failed to reach any meaningful numbers on Steam, despite high reviews from critics and players alike, since it was available via Game Pass. The post Imminent removal of CoD from Game Pass will show ‘cracks’ in Microsoft’s gaming strategy, leaker suggests appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
  24. The Gavi vs Nico Gonzalez Showdown SBC is an interesting bit of content in FC 26, where you can choose between one of them. While the two cards have their own strengths, one of them will be eligible for significant upgrades. Let's look at how the two cards look in-game before you pick one of them to complete. Table of contentsFC 26 Gavi vs Nico Gonzalez Showdown SBC tasksGaviNico GonzalezWhich one should you pickFC 26 Gavi vs Nico Gonzalez Showdown SBC tasks It's important to look at the tasks you have to complete to get these cards. The two SBCs are priced pretty similarly. Gavi FC Barcelona Min. 1 Players from: FC BarcelonaMin. 1 Players: Team of the WeekMin. Team Rating: 86 LaLiga Min. 1 Players from: LALIGA EA SPORTSMin. Team Rating: 87Which one should you pick Both cards have great in-game stats, and they are very economical. Almost anyone should have the fodder required for completing the SBC. However, Gavi's item is better before the upgrades. He can operate in a couple of positions, and he is ideally suited to the CM position. He has two great playstyle+ in Tiki Taka and Pinged Pass. The rest of his playstyles are pretty great, and so are his passing stats. If he gets an upgrade, the card will improve a lot. If not, you should still be able to use this 89-rated item in an ongoing evolution. For 50,000 coins worth of fodder, it's a no-brainer. That said, Nico Gonzalez could be a good addition if you need an attacker. Moreover, Atletico will be playing the match at home, making them favorites in the clash (and Nico for the upgrades). However, Gavi will still be my choice, considering the respective pros and cons of both cards.
