  1. Lotus Lantern: Rescue Mother may have one of the funniest subtitles in videogames, but that doesn't seem to be stopping it from finding a big and enthusiastic audience. Taking heavy inspiration from roguelike games such as Cult of the Lamb, Rogue Legacy 2, and, most directly in its overhead action design and visual style, Hades, creator Unstable Games' new launch is blowing up on Steam, attracting a ton of players since it first came out just yesterday. 2. The next time you log in on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone and use game chat, keep in mind that Activision is listening in on conversations to detect hate speech—and it will ban you for it. In August 2023, Activision announced that CoD would begin using an AI-based detection system called ToxMod to listen in on in-game voice chat. And it appears to be paying dividends, according to some players who’ve been punished, like one who posted on Reddit about they and their friend being banned for three days, albeit while in a private in-game party chat. 3. Usually when you hear about “stealing” and “free games” it’s about pirating games, so it’s refreshing to see developers like Bethesda and ZeniMax rewarding players with free content for their *******. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls Online, players can log in between Monday, April 15 and April 29 and claim the full Thieves Guild DLC for free by completing one single objective. That objective is to earn the Pocket Picker achievement by pickpocketing any NPC. View the full article

  7. Most Elden Ring players have likely been invaded by either **** ******* Alberich or Ensha of the Royal ********, if not both, without totally understanding why. Alberich is a sorcerer who first appears on the lower level of Elden Ring's Roundtable Hold. This ****** is practically inexplicable at first, requiring players to leap off of the balcony where Rogier settles in at the hub area. **** ******* Alberich has no dialogue and only drops assorted multiplayer items, but some other hints throughout the game can help contextualize his place in Elden Ring's lore. 8. The Mythics from Season 2 of Chapter 5 of Fortnite may have been vaulted. You might be scratching your head as to why they’re gone since these events usually span the entire season. If you’re wondering why they’re gone and when the vaulted Greek Mythics are coming back to Fortnite including Wings, Chains, and Zeues Lighting Bolt, we may have the answer. When are the Wings, Chains, and Zeus Lighting Bolt Mythics coming back from being Vaulted in Fortnite? At the time of writing this piece, there seems to be no return date for any of the Vaulted Greek Gods Mythics. So you might not be able to get any of the free items that came in the event right now. However, according to Epic, the Avatar event in Fortnite runs till early May. One could assume that when the current event ends, the Greek Gods from the ongoing season might return. If they do, hopefully, all the items associated with each **** will make a return too. This is something I’m counting on because I did miss...View the full article

  10. Prytania Media The grim cadence of video game layoffs continues apace, but this latest news comes with a strange twist. Prytania Media has shut down studio Possibility Space effective immediately. In an email to employees reproduced on social media by Polygon reporter Nicole Carpenter, Jeff Strain, Prytania’s co-founder, seemingly attributed the closure to an as-yet unpublished article from Kotaku reporter Ethan Gach. Strain wrote that he received questions from Gach regarding an upcoming article and that some of those questions pertained to a not-yet-public project codenamed “Vonnegut.” According to Strain, after receiving questions on Vonnegut, he had an emergency meeting with its publishers wherein it was decided that the publisher would cease... On X/Twitter, user @aitaikimochi posted information found in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania book. It apparently reveals that the main story for part 3 of Final Fantasy VII Remake is finished, and Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura aims to start voice recording "shortly." #FF7RUltimania FF7 Remake Part 3 main story has already been completed, and Nomura thinks they will perhaps start voice recording in the near future. He remarks that Kitase proposed an idea to him about “something” very important to include, even though it wasn’t in the… [Hidden Content] — ☆オードリーAudrey☆ (@aitaikimochi) April 12, 2024 Interestingly, @aitaikimochi also flagged that the book revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase hopes that Part 3 will ship in three years. "Kitase mentions FF7 Rebirth was done within three years since about one year was developing the DLC," @aitaikimochi wrote. "[A]nd he hopes to be able to stick with that schedule for Part 3 too." If the development team manages to ship out Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 in three years, it will set the release window for 2027. This would be impeccable timing for the third and final part of remaking the iconic PlayStation title, primarily because 2027 will mark 30 years since the original Final Fantasy VII was released. We already know that Square Enix began work on the conclusion after Nomura revealed in a statement posted on X/Twitter that "some development" had already begun for the final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. In our review of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which we awarded a 9 out of 10, IGN wrote: "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth impressively builds off of what Remake set in motion, both as a best-in-class action-RPG full of exciting challenges and an awe-inspiring recreation of a world that has meant so much to so many for so long." 17. Mere weeks away from the Apex Legends Global Series Split One Playoffs in Los Angeles, MoistCr1TiKaL has announced Moist Esports will drop their ALGS roster in order to let the players compete following yet another ******* attempt to get them U.S. visas. Two of Moist’s three pro Apex players are ***********, and according to MoistCr1TiKaL, they wouldn’t be allowed to enter the country at all if still applying for a visa under Moist’s name. As such, the org is releasing them so that the two Aussies, Ben “Wxltzy” Walton and Matthew “Emtee” Trengove, can enter the country as individuals and still compete with their ********* teammate, Zachary “Gild” Dennis. In his video on the subject, MoistCr1TiKaL absolutely blasted the U.S. immigration officers handling the team’s case, who he believes are the sole reason for the team’s continued denials.
