  1. Growing tired of Rust? Is DayZ becoming a bore? Well, you’re in luck (or should I say duck). Duckside, a post-apocalyptic world survival game featuring ducks, is in open beta now, so you can get your feather friends together to try it out. Developer tinyBuild Riga bills Duckside as a “persistent world survival game” much like Rust or DayZ, but with ducks instead of people. The odd game features PvE, PvP, crafting and base building, with an “expansive” island to explore to collect the necessary resources (and ammo) you need to stay alive. Honestly, though, the main appeal is ducks in outfits. View the full article
  2. Manor Lords isn't open for Early Access yet (that's scheduled for next week, April 26), but some lucky players have gotten a first look at the city-building and management game through early playtests, and some have already figured out one way to break the game... 3. Larian might have decided against making Baldur's Gate 4, but the studio is already hard at work outlining its next project. Or should I say, projects. In its latest community update shared on Steam, Larian revealed that in lieu of another Baldur's Gate sequel, it is currently developing two new projects... Read more.View the full article
  4. Cities Skylines 2 DLC is being refunded and added to the base game for free after being “rushed out” in an unsatisfactory state. Mariina Hallikainen, the CEO of developer Colossal Order, and Mattias Lilja, the deputy CEO of publisher Paradox Interactive, apologised to players for the latest in a series of disappointments in a forum post published on Thursday. After Cities Skylines 2 was released for PC with various issues last October, Colossal Order said it was delaying the launch of DLC included in the game’s Ultimate Edition so that it could prioritise performance improvements and bug fixes. 5. The Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PC requirements have been revealed. ******* Punch's samurai epic was previously a PlayStation exclusive, launching on PlayStation 4 in 2020 to extremely high critical acclaim, with a PS5 upgrade accompanying the Director's Cut release in 2021. 6. Of the many new components and items in the latest update to Palworld, players should be on the lookout to find the Ancient Technical Manual. This is because the Ancient Technology Skill Tree has some of the best items in the game, but players are often pressed to find Ancient Technology points to unlock them. However, there is a new way of earning them with the addition of the Ancient Technical Manual. View the full article
  7. head of Manor Lords' early access launch on April 26, developer Greg Styczeń aka Slavic Magic wants to clarify what the city builder actually is and manage the expectations of prospective players. The game is currently the most-wishlisted title on Steam and, while this is a nice problem for any developer to have, it does mean anticipation is high, so Styczeń wants wannabe nobles to know what they're getting into... 8. A 2017 MOBA game has been revived with Gigantic: Rampage Edition, making some excellent changes, though not enough to make it feel like a revolutionary experience. Free-to-play games filled with microtransactions flooded the market over the last few years, which are thankfully nowhere to be found in Abstraction Games' third-person hero shooter. Instead, players receive a multiplayer experience with an impressive roster of quirky and unique characters for the same price other games may charge for a single character skin. 9. I'll front with you real quick, I've never played a game of Caravan. Apparently, neither have half the PC Gamer team, even the ones who sank hundreds of hours into Fallout New Vegas. It seems like there's a surprising lack of interest in the card game, or, according to a good chunk of the community, it is too stupidly difficult for its own good... Read more.View the full article
  10. The Epic Games Store free games for the week of April 25 to May 2 are Industria and Lisa: The Definitive Edition. Epic Games Store users have new freebies to claim every week. Most of the time, Epic Games Store users are given plenty of advance notice when it comes to what free games they will be able to add to their digital libraries, but there are times when the launcher surprises users with an unexpected freebie. 11. Baldur's Gate 3 has revealed a first look at what players can expect from Patch #7, and the key additions happen to be improved evil endings, as well as the launch of the game's official modding tools. Despite releasing in a stacked year defined by several major titles, Baldur's Gate 3 made history by winning Game of the Year at every major awards show. It brought the isometric RPG genre to a mainstream audience, and succeeded in living up to the tremendous legacy of Baldur's Gate 2. View the full article
  12. Helldivers 2 players have managed to successfully defend against the Automaton invasion, so Super Earth (and the devs) are sending players to the other side of the galaxy and giving them a huge task to accomplish. The latest Major Order delivered to players this morning tasks the Helldivers with eradicating two billion Terminid bugs. This must be completed by Wednesday, April 23, although the Helldiver fleet is already well on their way to accomplishing that goal. View the full article
  13. Larian Studios may have disappointed some players with the shock announcement its work with the Dungeons & Dragons franchise was over—but it certainly has something up its sleeve. Baldur’s Gate 3 won a plethora of accolades, becoming the first game to secure five major Game of the Year awards, but Larian Studios will not be making any DLC, nor will it take the reins on a sequel. 14. The next step in Helldivers 2’s ongoing Galactic War is here, and it’s just about the most straightforward yet: ***** bugs. Lots of bugs. Two billion to be exact. After the PC and PlayStation 5 co-op shooter’s community successfully completed a Major Order to slow a significant Automaton invasion, Game Master Joel has turned players’ attention to the Terminid front with the biggest ***** order since the game’s explosive launch in February. Helldivers 2 players now have just under six days to ***** two billion Terminids. That sounds like a lot, but at the time of this article’s publication, with five days and 20 hours left to complete the major order, players had already hit 19.6% completion. That is, over 391 million bugs had already bit the dust. Based on this initial progress, it seems the community will complete the Major Order sooner rather than later. Has Joel underestimated the community’s willingness to come together to ***** up bugs? That seems unlikely. Perhaps Joel had decided to let the Helldivers 2 community ***** off some steam with an easygoing Major Order after what was a somewhat grueling battle against the Automatons and those pesky Factory Striders. Or perhaps Joel will pull a level and surprise us all by increasing the ***** count in response to our rapid progress. With Helldivers 2’s meta narrative, you never can tell what’s next. Speaking of the meta narrative, the in-universe explanation for this major order is worth highlighting. Super Earth has said the Automaton invasion has slowed, and that it must now take this chance to refill its E-710 reserves in order to stage a counter offensive. What’s Element-710? A precious resource Super Earth farms the bugs for. Perhaps read E-710 upside down if you’re wondering what Arrowhead is getting at here. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. 17. Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian isn’t doing any DLC for the game, or a Baldur’s Gate 4, or anything to do with D&D in the near future. We know that. It's, uh, far too busy teasing the mysterious new things it is actually working on, and casually announcing that more stuff's going to be added to BG3 soon. Don't get your hopes up too much though, it'll be a while until we actually see those new things, especially the "very big RPG that will rule them all" that Swen Vincke's previously hyped up, which seems separate to what he's teasing this time. You know, much in the same way you'll have to wait to see what Wizards of the Coast will do with the Baldur's Gate IP going forwards. In its latest community update, number 26, Larian does a bit of BAFTA reflecting, lets us all know what the main headlines of the upcoming patch 7 for BG3 will be, and teases its future. ******, three birds, one stone - you can see why the studio netted pretty much every GOTY award known to man. After confirming that it won't be doing the stuff I mentioned it won't be right at the start of this article, the update offers a fun little statement from Larian founder Swen Vincke about what the studio's currently working on. 19. It’s not an official Nintendo accessory, but everything about 8BitDo’s Retro Mechanical Keyboard screams NES regardless. | Photo by Jon Porter / The Verge If you’re craving all things Nintendo after yesterday’s Indie World showcase event, right now, 8BitDo’s Retro Mechanical Keyboard has plunged to a new all-time low price. Normally $99.99, right now, you can buy the keyboard for $83.69 from Amazon. The Famicom-inspired Fami Edition, meanwhile, is available for about $2 more. 20. Helldivers 2 is already known for pushing out a substantial amount of updates since its launch in February 2024, but developer Arrowhead Studios clarified why it can't push out even more with an excellent explanation. Ever since Super Earth's war against the Terminids and Automatons exploded in popularity, the Helldivers 2 community has enjoyed a steady stream of patches that both add new content to the game and fix any bugs plaguing the experience. It'd be unreasonable to expect any more from Arrowhead but for those who do want extra updates, it'd be unfair to make such demands. View the full article
  21. Very rarely, League of Legends champions are banned for no reason. But this seems to be the case in Patch 14.8, where one classic AD carry has an almost 50 percent win rate, with players claiming they can’t stand him. At the time of writing, the most-hated champ in League seems to be Draven, who has a gargantuan 46.1 percent ban rate in Emerald+ rankings, [Hidden Content]. This number rises to 56 percent in Diamond and above. But he’s not specifically in the meta right now, which sparked a discussion on Reddit on April 18. It turns out it’s a personal grudge since players just dislike him. View the full article

Into The Light has been a big time boost to Destiny 2 after the game has seemingly been stuck in a rough patch the past few months as a result of an expansion delay, internal issues at Bungie, and player burnout from an extended season.
