  1. Supergiant Games surprised us with a Hades 2 Technical Test dev livestream out of nowhere yesterday, and oh my ****, it looks incredible. I have been gnawing at the bars of my enclosure ever since Melinoe and co. were first revealed back at The Game Awards 2022, and now the princess of the Underworld is here to show why she's the superior sibling. She's also more than shown why the wait for the Hades 2 Xbox and PS5 versions is going to be an agonizing one. If you're looking to dodge spoilers before you can play, click away. 2. Tencent Games subsidiary MoreFun Studios has revealed that its realistic shooter franchise, Arena Breakout, is coming to PC in the form of a new title called Arena Breakout: Infinite. The free-to-play foray into the PC realm is set to release for Steam later this year. MoreFun says players can expect “unparalleled firearm customization” and first-person shooter realism, calling Arena Breakout: Infinite “the most visually stunning and immersive FPS experience that isn’t in a perpetual alpha state.” The original Arena Breakout launched for iOS and Android devices last year and has been hailed as a mobile alternative to Battlestate Games’ Escape from Tarkov. MoreFun described its PC version of the tactical military experience in a brief summary that you can read below. “In Arena Breakout: Infinite, enter the Dark Zone and become the deadliest soldier of fortune known to man. As a highly skilled military operative, journey into the war-torn Kamona region where high stakes equal high rewards. Pull the trigger, take cover, and move ahead. Break into combat arenas to extract high-value items and strike it rich… but be prepared to ****** for survival.” Additional details tease dense customization options that include more than 500 accessories, such as rifle stocks, sight placement options, custom barrels, muzzle brakes, and more. Each tweak allows players to customize the stability, accuracy, and range of their ******* of choice before heading into combat arenas that feature real-time lighting and 360 spatial sound effects. MoreFun adds that Arena Breakout: Infinite is aimed to be a player-first experience built on competitive and fair gameplay. “Infinite represents an all-in commitment to launching the first viable tactical FPS on Steam that’s accessible, content-complete and free of issues like cheating, bugs, poor servers and more that longtime fans of the tactical-********* genre have sadly grown accustomed to,” MoreFun explains. Arena Breakout: Infinite doesn’t have an exact release date yet. Be sure to check out first information about beta sign-ups here, and don’t forget to read up on the latest from Arena Breakout, recent Bruce Lee crossover update. 3. Fallout New Vegas has some of the most in-depth character creation that the series has ever seen, and Traits are a huge part of making your build stand out.In addition to your SPECIAL stats and other character creation decisions, Traits can drastically alter your character’s abilities and open the door for several unique builds and archetypes. Each Trait offers a powerful bonus like an increased critical hit chance or bonus points to some of your SPECIAL stats, but they come with negative tradeoffs to balance things out. Some of these are more worthwhile than others, so which Traits are the best in Fallout New Vegas?Which Traits Should You Pick in Fallout New Vegas?Ultimately, the best Traits for your Fallout New Vegas character depend on the playstyle you have in mind. Before you start thinking about any of that, though, you need to select Wild Wasteland. Don’t ask any questions, just do it. This adds special wacky encounters throughout the wasteland that you...View the full article
  4. I'll be the first to admit that my excitement around the announcement of Hades 2, the direct sequel to one of my favorite games of all time, was pierced with apprehension. Supergiant's approach to sequels in the past has been to, well, not make them. Each new game the indie studio puts out features a new world with new characters, challenges, narratives, and gameplay styles. Hades hit differently, though, with its roguelike structure embellished with tales of mythological family and personal struggles. The element of the original Hades that really drew me in, as a ****** woman, was the underlying theme of sexuality and gender identity that highlighted the personal lifestyles of us all. Version 4.6 is arriving soon and most of its upcoming content has already been confirmed by HoYoverse. The new characters in Genshin Impact 4.6, the 5-star units featured in banners, story quests, events, and much more have already been showcased during the official livestream. In fact, the presentation confirmed a lot of the content that had previously leaked. The main focus, however, was on Arlecchino. View the full article
  6. Despite military sim series Arma and its zombie survival spin-off DayZ having their de facto home on PC, developers Bohemia Interactive opted to snub us keyboard-and-mousers for their post-DayZ game Vigor. The free-to-play survival shooter hit early access on Xbox way back in June 2018 - almost six years ago - and subsequently made its way to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. And yet, for more than half a decade, no whisper of a PC release was heard - until now, that is. Read more View the full article
  7. The attention to detail with every Spider-Man 2 suit is impeccable, and that applies to Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 costume too. While it may arguably be the greatest Spidey suit to hit the big screen, the PS5 game's depiction of it is sadly hindered by a bizarre bug. Now, Insomniac Games promises that it will resolve this issue in a forthcoming PlayStation 5 patch. Read the rest of the story... 8. Content Warning was a hit when it released – although as time’s gone on, more people have been modding their games. Typically, this is fine, however some players are having their games ruined by less considerate modders.Modders are ruining Content Warning for manyModding is typically a fun practice to be had with friends and those who know what’s going on. However, recently there are players who have been cheating the using mods in public lobbies, ruining the fun for everyone else.Image: LandfallReddit user Nyawul shared their experience with modders, and it certainly does not sound fun to have someone randomly “spawn a million spiders.” Note that Landfall and the developers are aware of the sudden increase in griefing and unfair modding in the lobbies, and are actively working toward a way to circumvent this. They are considering implementing a “vote to kick” feature, so players can kick players who are cheating. This doesn...View the full article
  9. You might have caught a new name in the Apex Legends universe scrawled into today’s Urban ******** trailer, and you’re not alone. Many fans saw what appeared to be confirmation of the game’s season 21 character, Alter, doing some live editing of the Apex Rumble standings. The moment, which occurs 39 seconds into the trailer, sees Fuse’s name written over at the top of the leaderboard and replaced by Alter’s, along with a smiling green cartoon ****** that seems like it could be Altar’s logo. The same logo appears over Lifeline’s face on a screen in the background at just four seconds and also over Octane’s face at the very end of the trailer. View the full article

  12. Illustration by Alex Castro / The Verge When I reviewed the Xbox Series X nearly four years ago, I called the console a “next-gen PC.” Not only did the Xbox look like a PC with its boxy, rectangular, tower-like case but it also felt like one thanks to hardware upgrades that allowed it to run games with a variety of PC-like graphical modes. Now, as we approach the next generation of Xbox, it looks like Microsoft is about to close the gap between Xbox and PC even further. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has teased some potentially massive Xbox platform changes in recent weeks. At the same time, leaked internal memos have revealed an increased focus inside Microsoft on Xbox game preservation and forward compatibility. When you put all the breadcrumbs together, it feels like... Continue reading… View the full article

  15. Last year, League of Legends former executive vice president Joe Tung announced that he and a handful of other developers were branching off from Riot Games, creating a new game studio called Theorycraft Games to put their own spin on a MOBA with Project Loki. 18. Larian aren’t just not making Baldur’s Gate 4 – they’re treating Baldur’s Gate 3’s success as an opportunity to develop their own intellectual properties, with two new games in the works. These games will build on the “sensibilities” of Baldur’s Gate 3 in being “immersive experiences shaped by your choices”, but by the sounds of things, they won’t be adaptations of anybody else's narrative or setting.
