  1. Earth Defense Force 6 is one of the most joyful shooters I’ve played in years, delivering mega-scale slapstick gunfights like nothing else while walking a tightrope-fine line between genius and idiocy in its design. It’s also a janky, rough-hewn piece of software with a mediocre PC port and egregious recycling of assets... Read more.View the full article
  2. Players interested the open-world action RPG that launched in March can now try it out for free and are able to transfer their save data into the full game. View the full article
  3. MrBeast has finally broken his silence on the grooming allegations levelled against his frequent YouTube collaborator Ava Kris Tyson, denouncing the supposed acts as “disgusting” and firmly distancing himself from his long-time friend. In a statement shared on July 24, the famed YouTuber told fans he had been waiting to comment until an independent third-party investigator had updated him with “all the facts.” While that investigation is still pending, MrBeast now feels like he’s “seen enough online” to immediately remove Tyson from his entertainment company. “I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions,” he stated. 4. Late in 2022, the mod team behind Fallout: London uploaded some songs from their in-game radio station to YouTube, including one called I Just Can't Wait (For Tomorrow). When the team's project manager, Prilladog, reposted that song in the Fallout: London Discord server's announcements channel, fans quickly realized what was up... Read more.View the full article
  5. Bream is one of the many fish you can catch in Disney Dreamlight Valley—but only if you fish for it from a specific ******** pool in a particular biome. Knowing where to catch it can be challenging because it’s not commonly found in all biomes. Here’s how to find (and catch) Bream when you need it in Disney Dreamlight Valley. View the full article

  7. Pokémon is one of the most popular franchises in the world, and its anime and video game series have been running for decades. The creature-collector has inspired many games because it’s easy to learn but hard to master, giving it the perfect difficulty curve. The concept is simple: find a Pokémon in the wild and beat it until it’s almost unconscious. Then, trainers can pelt the Pokémon with Pokéballs until they catch it. You can then raise the Pokémon and make it stronger by having it ****** other wild or caught Pokémon until they faint. You lose if all of your Pokémon faint during battle. But if you win, you get money. View the full article
  8. Baldur’s Gate 3 is chock-full of hidden areas to explore and secrets to discover. Some of these are hidden behind Cracked Walls that can be destroyed. You may not notice these walls at first, since they blend into the background. They’re easily identified by massive cracks, and you’ll be able to click on them to see their description. Unfortunately for players new to the Dungeons & Dragons world, it may not be readily apparent how you’re supposed to break these structures. View the full article
  9. A lucky Fallout 4 player shares how they managed to bypass one of the game's most tedious quests and walk away with its incredibly useful reward. Upon starting the Nuka-World DLC, players will quickly discover the Galactic Zone, a massive area that ultimately fell prey to its own defective security system and hostile robots. To gain full control of the facility and the ultra-powerful Quantum X-01 Power Armor behind a locked display case, the Sole Survivor must track down 35 Star Cores to access various parts of the Galactic Zone, a process that can take a while. 10. For years now, The Sims has offered its players the ability to create just about any life they can imagine, and for many, this includes the ability to have twins or even sometimes triplets. Though these pregnancies can be influenced naturally through gameplay, many players have also opted to utilize cheats to guarantee them the family of their dreams. View the full article
  11. Whatever the Baldur's Gate 3 modders have been drinking, I'd like a double. They've given us mods that make your entire party scrabble around on all fours, add an entire roguelike mode, and commit a war ****** against Astarion's hair follicles. And they haven't slowed down yet... Read more.View the full article
  12. As per always, I've found a way to fill an otherwise nondescript Thursday with surprisingly decent deals. Personally, I would trigger the NOS and beeline to that 13-buck Need For Speed triple pack on Xbox first. I'm also all about those (discounted basically everywhere) copies of No Man's Sky. That new update for it is gorgeous, to the point where I'm seriously considering a fresh save to re-experience the thrill of Permadeath mode + PS VR2, but prettier. Because I'm an ******. In retro news, I'm commemorating the 34th birthday of Magic Sword, an arcade classic. In this Capcom hack 'n' slash side-scroller, you were cast as one of two He-Man-types and set loose on 51 floors of mummies, dragons, and...er, Easter Island heads? Nabbing keys and releasing prisoners would add an AI party member who basically acted like a side ******* pod. What hooked me: the thematically left-field inclusion of a ninja. Because, hey—anything in the late '80s / early '90s with a ninja in it was an instant must-play. Proper obsessed. This Day in Gaming Aussie birthdays for notable games. - Magic Sword (ARC) 1990. - Mario’s Picross (GB) 1995. - Painkiller (XB) 2006. - Dynasty Warriors 8 (PS3,X360) 2013. - Shadowrun Returns (PC) 2013. 13. Fortnite players aren't happy about the new set of quests released by Epic Games as part of the Summer Road Trip event, as it requires them to be in a party to get the rewards. Since the quest in question requires players to earn XP while in a party, solo Fortnite players are essentially locked out of it and have no other way to complete it. View the full article
  14. The Worlds Part One update has brought a myriad of fresh content to No Man’s Sky, including a complete graphical rework of the entire galaxy. Alongside updates to the visual appearance, the 5.0 patch has introduced a swarm of giant insects and biological creatures. If you are brave enough to challenge this new hive of horrors, then you may just earn yourself an insect-themed suit of armor. Here’s everything you need to know about obtaining the Insect Armor in No Man’s Sky Worlds Part One. View the full article
  15. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrails Arcadion raids are noticeably *******, and the hike in difficulty might be too much for casual players. Released on schedule only a couple of weeks following the expansion, the normal raid features several painful tank busters and raid-wide AOEs, some pretty ****** damage-over-time effects, and more than a handful of unique mechanics that trigger in rapid succession. After a decade of reusing several of the same mechanics for new fights, however, the introduction of new gimmicks was a welcome change for many players. View the full article

  17. When you first ***** into The First Descendant, you’ll quickly realize not everything is available from the start. Void Fusion Reactors, for example, require you to have Void Shards. If you have yet to get any Void Shards, you won’t be able to interact with the Reactors. Farming Void Shards is a relatively straightforward process in The First Descendant. Unlike some other rare items or weapons in the game, like Enduring Legacy, you won’t need to endure a lengthy and tedious grind. With a bit of time investment, you can efficiently gather all types of Void Shards in The First Descendant. View the full article
  18. No, you aren’t hallucinating from overexposure to Internet brainrot. Yes, you read that headline correctly: Inexplicably viral jangling-keys meme Skibidi ******* is being optioned for a movie by none other than Transformers mastermind Michael Bay. It hasn’t even been a year and a half since Georgian YouTuber Alexey Gerasimov uploaded the very first Skibidi ******* video, but in that time it’s become a ubiquitous pop culture phenomenon and a testament to the power of the Internet to foster overnight superstars. There are Skibidi ******* Fortnite maps, Roblox games, Infinite Craft recipes, and more knockoff merch and low-budget, quick-turnaround horror games than I have time to even vaguely get into here. Now, if Bay gets his way, Skibidi *******’s next step (metaphorically; toilets don’t have legs) could be onto the big screen. View the full article
  19. An Elden Ring player has received more runes than they know what to do with via a random interaction with a helpful stranger. Like most Soulsborne games, Elden Ring includes a system of player-versus-player invasions. In short, one player can opt to invade another random player's world, popping up in a nearby location and attempting to ***** them in exchange for their runes. But if the host defeats the invader, they'll claim the hostile player's runes instead. Although toxic invaders do exist, the invasion system is mostly a source of good, clean, adversarial fun. 21. Premium battle passes are already a pervasive (some would say predatory) mechanic in online gaming, but what if there was a premium battle pass for your premium battle pass? Such is the ethos behind Call of Duty: Warzone‘s BlackCell upgrades, and players are beginning to tire of their predictable aesthetics. At its core, BlackCell is an idea Epic Games is probably kicking itself for not thinking of first. Essentially, players can pay a premium on top of the cost of the paid battle pass to unlock an even higher-tier reward track that includes exclusive Operators, skins, finishing moves, and more. This upgrade costs $30, or just under half the price of a modern triple-A game. View the full article
  22. MultiVersus players may soon be able to enjoy content from the worlds of Harry Potter and Barbie if a datamine ***** is to be believed. Information on what could be the Warner Bros. platform fighter’s next batch of content comes from X/Twitter user @AusilMV, who has been sharing what appears to be images from concepts of different stages and characters. While some of the pictures highlight what appear to be early-in-development locations and gameplay modifiers, others are instantly recognizable. One notable example shows a stage with broomsticks that hover above a platform decorated with four distinct colors: blue, red, green, and yellow. It doesn’t take a Harry Potter expert to recognize that the broomsticks could signal that the map is intended to be Quidditch-themed, but those banners also seem to be placeholders for the universe’s four houses, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff. While no Harry Potter representative can be seen in the image, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the stage accompanied by someone like Dumbledore or Hermione should Harry Potter content ever make its official MultiVersus debut. The datamine also reveals a stage that is unmistakably inspired by last year’s megaton movie hit, Barbie. The all-pink location is dressed with palm trees, multiple levels to ****** on, and a twisty slide that seems to lead to a pool. It looks almost exactly the same as star Margot Robbie’s Barbie Dreamhouse, though like the Harry Potter stage, it lacks any Barbie or Ken character representation. Other MultiVersus datamine images show off heavily rumored characters like the Powerpuff ******, DC’s Nubia, and Adventure Time’s Marceline, though until developer Player First Games has anything to announce, it’s best not to expect any of the content shown to officially appear in-game. It's at least clear that the developer has more plans behind the scenes, as Warner Bros. Games moved to acquire the studio earlier this week. MultiVersus is still in the midst of renewed player interest following its re-launch in May. Fans are currently enjoying Season 2 of its post-launch roadmap, which brought along newcomer Samurai Jack with Beetlejuice promised to arrive at a later date. This is all while players continue to wait for introductions for other characters who have been previously leaked, such as Aquaman and maybe even a few mystery anime characters. We’ve had our eye on MultiVersus since its return to the public and had great things to say about it in our 8/10 review. At the time, we said, “MultiVersus may not be a must-play at social gatherings, but its refreshing team-based battles make it a great platform fighter online.” Michael Cripe is a freelance contributor with IGN. 23. I'm gettin' pretty old. I don't like to say my age out loud because maybe if I don't say it, it won't actually be real, so let's just say I'm Gen X, I was born the same year as Pong, and my high school had a designated smoking area—for students. 24. The news surrounding PlayStation’s latest online ********* game, Concord, hasn’t been all that great. But the developers did offer up some good news to players. In a thread posted on X/Twitter, developers thanked those who participated in the Concord beta test and teased several bits of information about the game. This included details on game modes, progression systems, and different maps. One statement that did stand out among the others was that Concord will not feature a battle pass at launch. In the section talking about their plans for post-launch content, the developers clarified that they wanted players to focus more on playing the game and leveling up in order to make the experience better for everyone.
