  1. The First Descendant has plenty of cosmetics for you to show off your style. If you want something truly special, though, the game has Evolved Skins that upgrade as you play the game. Here’s everything you need to know about evolving skins in The First Descendant. What are Evolved Skins in The First Descendant? A skeleton Bunny is certainly something new. Screenshot by Dot Esports Evolved Skins are a separate category of cosmetics in The First Descendant that you can find in the Event Skin tab of the Shop. They are some of the most expensive cosmetics in the game and come in multiple styles. View the full article
  2. Gamers always find the best ways to cheese the system and earn the best loot. The First Descendant is no different, and a Valby run emerged as the favorite approach—but how does it work? We’ve got the details. The First Descendant has a truckload of materials that need to be farmed to unlock new weapons, Descendants, and more. There are some resources you always need on-hand, and the Valby run provides them in abundance. View the full article
  3. ***** by Daylight finally has cross-progression, allowing you to share your in-game progress across multiple platforms. If you want to know how to set it up, you’re in the right place. While DBD’s cross-platform progression has some limitations (particularly for Switch users), it allows you to share characters, Iridescent Shards, items, and more across various platforms. So, if you’re playing on PS5 in your living room but get booted out so someone can watch TV, you can pick up where you left off on PC—but you need to set it up first. Here’s how to enable cross-progression in DBD. View the full article

  6. STALKER 2 has been hit with another delay, pushing the game deeper into a late 2024 release date, but fans have been promised “the most comprehensive update on the game yet” in an imminent deep *****. Initially pushed back to a Q1 2024 release, a further delay was announced in January to Sept. 5, but the title has now fallen even further into the year, with a new release date set for Nov. 20, 2024. 7. You might not remember it, but in early 2022, Netflix and 2K jointly announced the BioShock movie was back from the ***** and in active development. Later that year, we learned that Francis Lawrence (of I Am Legend and The Hunger Games fame) would be directing. Now, that's looking more and more unlikely. Up until recently, Lawrence has been openly chatting about the project and what his hopes and goals for it are, yet we're not convinced he'll be the filmmaker to journey down to Rapture once we look at his increasingly packed schedule. We do hope that notable scribe Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) stays on board though. Via Deadline, we've learned that production on the long-in-development big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk has finally started ********* with Lawrence in the director's chair. After that, he's supposedly sticking around in Panem for the next Hunger Games prequel, which would become the fifth installment in the long-running franchise he's handled. In fact, only the first Hunger Games was directed by someone else. Read more View the full article
  8. It's already exciting that Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is receiving the remaster it's always deserved but what makes it even better is that developer Asypr is giving fans the Easter egg that should have been in the original game. Released in 2002, LucasArts' cult-classic third-person action-adventure game served as a tie-in for Star Wars Episode II: ******* of the Clones by providing Jango Fett's backstory. While it may no longer be canon, it's good to see Aspyr bringing some of the more obscure Star Wars games to modern platforms, especially when it goes above and beyond. View the full article

  10. Out of an "abundance of caution" AMD is delaying the launch of its Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors, which were set to debut on July 31, 2024. Now, the launch date has been scheduled for August 8 for the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X, and August 15 for the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X. Read Entire Article View the full article
  11. Ubisoft is battling a fresh Star Wars Outlaws gameplay ***** that saw over 13 minutes of footage hit the internet. The lengthy gameplay clip, which appears to reveal the start of Massive Entertainment’s upcoming adventure, was uploaded to YouTube before it was taken down by a copyright claim by Ubisoft, cementing its legitimacy. Of course, the internet noticed and has made the gameplay footage available elsewhere, although it’s worth pointing out it features heavy spoilers for the setup of Star Wars Outlaws protagonist Kay Vess’ adventures. Meanwhile, further footage has found its way to social media, apparently from the same source as the YouTube *****, this time showing Kay play Sabacc, the Star Wars card game, as well as over two minutes of space combat. It’s a disappointing development for Ubisoft, which has controlled the release of Star Wars Outlaws gameplay ever since it properly revealed the game at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase. IGN has asked Ubisoft for comment. Warning! Star Wars Outlaws spoilers follow. The leaked gameplay footage shows Kay recovering from a ****** landing on a moon and having to fend off an ******* from a group of bandits. A local offers to help repair the spaceship, but in order to do so, Kay needs to head into the local town and secure work from a ****** boss. The gameplay shows third-person shooter combat, open world travel via landspeeder, and exploration of the town, which is packed with Stormtroopers asking people for identification. Kay manages to work her way into a meeting with the ****** boss, only to be thrown out. At this point, another local offers her a job which, if successful, will help her build up her reputation to the point where the ****** boss will take her seriously. Earlier this month, Massive revealed to IGN that three of the five planets in Star Wars Outlaws can be crossed in four or five minutes while riding a speeder. Speaking to IGN as part of a larger interview, creative director Julian Gerighty reiterated the planets — Tatooine, a Toshara moon, Akiva, Kijimi, and Cantonica — will be around the size of two or three zones in *********'s Creed Odyssey, and confirmed "Toshara is very close in size to Akiva and Tatooine; I think Tatooine may be a little bit larger." When then asked how long it would take Kay to ride from one end of Tosharra to the other side on her speeder, Gerighty gave the four or five minute answer, which will seemingly apply to Akiva and Tatooine too since they're around the same size. Star Wars Outlaws was revealed in 2023 as a scoundrel adventure set between Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi. It stars Kay, her droid partner ND-5, and her beastie friend Nix as they attempt to carve out their own success during Star Wars' golden era of ********* activity. It arrives August 27, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, with the $70 Standard Edition joined by a $110 Gold Edition, which comes with three days of early access alongside the Season Pass. An even more expensive, digital-only Ultimate Edition comes with both of these perks alongside cosmetics (the Rogue Infiltrator Bundle and the Sebacc Shark bundle) alongside a digital art book. 13. Monster Hunter Now is good. Long-time readers of the site will know my opinion on the game from the often-gushing articles I’ve published over the past year. But from Summer Game Fest 2023, when I first played the game and fell in love, Niantic has improved the mobile title immeasurably. Initially, the roster of monsters on offer - and the overall flavour of the multiplayer gameplay - was limited. Unless you had IRL friends to go and hunt with, you were locked into playing most of the game in single-player, which means grinding out high-end monsters and often getting backed into progression bottle-necks if you couldn’t slay certain beasts. It was a relief, then, when Niantic introduced the ability to matchmake with other players earlier this year. It’s all very passive, and that’s kind of the point. If you load into a Hunt-a-thon that’s taking place at your local Post Office, say, and no one else is around in the real world, the game will now automatically find other players that are waiting in lobbies around the world for you to ***** a Barioth with. 17. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has been live and kicking for over a month, and that’s plenty of time for players to rigorously field-test all the new Incantations and Sorceries. 18. In a certifiably not-great week for gaming CPUs, AMD have announced that the new Ryzen 9000 series is being delayed for a few days. That’s thanks to initial production units not being up to standards, an AMD executive admitted, and comes shortly after rivals Intel copped to a potentially chip-******** fault in their latest Core processors. Ah well, there’s always – oh, wait. No. Those are the only two. Read more View the full article
  19. Everyone loves Radahn! Perhaps one of the most memorable bosses in Elden Ring is a fan favourite among players and far-flung spectators alike. But if you're still hungry for some time with FromSoftware's beloved horse rider you can spend an indefinate amount of time with the bloke in an unexpected game: League of Legends. This comes courtesy of a fan-made skin for Pantheon available through Rune Forge, the MOBA's biggest hub for custom skins. For those who download it, Pantheon will be totally morphed into the Elden Ring boss, with all his abilities altered to match Radahn's own move set. The creator of the skin Kaizen posted their results on Twitter, as well as work-in-process videos and screenshots in prior weeks that you can check through. It's always ***** to see grassroots, passion-led creatives make all manner of fun stuff for their chosen games, and League is no different with its community skin scene. 20. Many Ultimate Modules in The First Descendant change how your builds work and require dedicated strategy. 21. The hotly anticipated Fallout 4 mod, Fallout London, finally launches today, July 25, after a series of delays. Team FOLON lead project manager Dean Carter told Inverse that, “unless nuclear war happens, yes,” July 25 is the release date. Fallout London is perhaps the most high-profile mod ever created, and lets players engage with everything from “stuffy parliamentary aristocrats to a resurrection of the Knights of the Round Table to an uncompromising cult of revolutionaries" in what amounts to an expansion-sized add-on. It has even secured the likes of Baldur's Gate 3's Neil Newbon for its voice cast, with former *** Speaker of the House John Bercow in the game, too. The mod was previously due to arrive on April 23, 2024 but actual Fallout developer Bethesda announced a surprise update for Fallout 4, which the mod developer feared would impact its release. Carter later lamented how Bethesda, which has made clear it's aware of Fallout: London, ******* to inform Team FOLON of its plans. "That has, for lack of a better term, sort of screwed us over, somewhat,” Carter said. As a result of Bethesda’s Fallout 4 updates, the release of Fallout London is slightly fiddly. If you get the mod on GOG, it’s compatible with Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition from both GOG and Steam. But the Steam version of the game is after the next-gen update, making it non-compatible, which means you have to downgrade your game. Meanwhile, GOG has confirmed that Fallout London won't be playable via Epic Games Store-bought copies of Fallout 4 at launch because the storefront doesn't support update rollbacks. Bethesda development chief Todd Howard has confirmed Fallout 5 will arrive after the Elder Scrolls 6, which is still years away itself, though massively multiplayer online game Fallout 76 continues to be updated. 22. Since its inception, Red ***** Online has introduced five roles to the main game. These roles function as classes, and the newest one included in the Moonshiners DLC is the Moonshiner, a more illicit role than the rest. So, how does one go about becoming a Moonshiner? Becoming a Moonshiner in Red ***** Online The new Moonshiner role is an offshoot of the original Trader specialist role in Red ***** Online introduced in the latest update. To unlock the class, you first need to become a Trader and then get the role up to level five. This can be expensive since you must purchase a Butcher’s Table for 15 Gold Bars to get started as a Trader. You can do this from the Wilderness Outfitters store. View the full article

  24. With Deadpool & Wolverine now rolling out in theaters worldwide and many Marvel fans revisiting the two characters' past solo adventures, it makes sense that we'd hear something from Logan director James Mangold, who tried to wrap up Hugh Jackman's run as Wolverine back in 2017 at 20th Century Fox. Unsurprisingly, he doesn't have kind words for cinematic universes, yet almost half his big-screen career is IP work. The filmmaker admits in an interview for Rolling Stone, following the release of the first trailer for his Bob Dylan biopic, that even he's surprised he's worked in "the world of IP entertainment," which is funny considering he's cashed three **** checks already thanks to two Wolverine movies and the fifth Indiana Jones. Moreover, he's set to direct a Star Wars movie at Lucasfilm and Swamp Thing for James Gunn's DCU, Warner's new attempt at mimicking the MCU. "It’s weird that I’ve even worked in the world of IP entertainment because I don’t like multi-movie universe-building. I think it’s the ****** of storytelling. The ****** of storytelling. It’s more interesting to people the way the Legos connect than the way the story works in front of us," he explained. And you know what? The thing is that he's not wrong. Studios and fans often get lost looking for quick profits and surface-level satisfaction even if fan-service and proper good narratives can coexist. Read more View the full article
  25. Over 500 World of Warcraft developers at Blizzard have come together to form a union, narrowly missing out on pipping the Bethesda staff who did the same late last week to the post, but it's ok, there was never anything other than a a bit of "friendly" competition between the two. This Blizzard union is called the WoW Gamemaker's Guild, or WoWGG, and has been formed in partnership with the Communications Workers of America, or CWA. The difference between this union and ones we've seen in the past is that's its a wall-to-wall union, meaning members stretch across multiple departments within the company, rather than a single portion of the company. He added that, while, there was a bit of fun competion going on between the Blizzard and Bethesda staff over their efforts to unionise, the WoW folks are more than fine having taken second place, saying: "In a friendly way, we were seeing who was going to squeak in there first. Never happier to be outrun. Huge congratulations to them." Read more View the full article
