Supermassive's X/Twitter account revealed that Pankhurst had passed away. As the tribute page reveals, any donations would be provided to "Hospice in the World," as the organization "provided such love and support to [Pankhurst] in his final weeks." We are all saddened to hear of Tony Pankhurst's passing. He was the face of The Curator, and we loved working with him. [Hidden Content] — Supermassive Games (@SuperMGames) July 29, 2024 "We are all saddened to hear of Tony Pankhurst's passing. He was the face of The Curator, and we loved working with him," Supermassive said. Pankhurst is best known for his work on The Dark Pictures Anthology series. Although Pip Torrens has done both motion capture and voice work for The Curator, Pankhurst's likeness inspired the fictional character's appearance. Pankhurst even played the character in a live-action trailer for 2021's The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. The Curator is a recurring character in The Dark Pictures Anthology series. While he appears polite and calm, his presence, combined with the dark and ominous room he is in, is unsettling. He records players' stories as they endure horrific and supernatural events throughout each game. The Curator has appeared in every installment in the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology, starting with 2019's Man of Medan, and most recently appeared in a cameo in the 2023 PlayStation VR2 spinoff The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. The Dark Pictures Anthology series concluded its first season following the release of The ****** in Me in 2022. A second season is planned, and the first entry in season two, Directive 8020, is currently in development. Taylor is a Reporter at IGN. You can follow her on Twitter @TayNixster. As The Sims 4 community continues to enjoy the Lovestruck expansion, some players are learning that the in-game dating app is a little too realistic. When it comes to apps like Tinder and Hinge, it's become more and more common to encounter "catfish," the colloquially accepted name for someone who either pretends to be a different person online or misrepresents what they look like in the real world. Catfish may be difficult enough to avoid for those currently in the dating sphere, but at least when it happens in The Sims 4, it's pretty funny. View the full article

How long do you think early access typically lasts for a videogame? I'd say between one and two years, most of the time. The developer listens to player feedback, enacts plans it already had in place, and tweaks what it needs to ahead of a full launch. 7 Days to **** did this for almost 12 years. While you might think that's a bad sign, the open-world zombie survival game is the now biggest it's ever been on Steam, setting a new concurrent player record that's as I write this is only getting *******. Marvel Rivals is out in the wild through its invite-only beta test, pulling in players and taking the ****** to a genre still dominated by Overwatch 2 (even with all its issues). But it seems that NetEase has pulled a trick to get more folks invested in the comic book based third person shooter: Jeff. He's a tiny land shark with a cute little collar, and he's taking the game by storm. Announced at the San Diego Comic **** last weekend, Jeff is playable right now in Marvel Rivals for those lucky enough to be invited. His original debut was in West Coast Avengers back in 2016, but he has since become a lovable favourite among comic book fans, showing up alongside Deadpool, Kate Bishop, and others. Jeff plays the role of a support in Marvel Rivals, healing his team and moving quickly across the map thanks to a activatable submerge ability. His ultimate is straight up disgusting though, allowing players to ******** up ****** players in a large radius before spitting them out at a chosen area nearby. He seems really solid, which only adds to his appeal. Read more View the full article
Bethesda has trademarked ‘Starborn,’ a clear reference to its recently released Starfield. The trademark, spotted by X/Twitter user @bogorad222, was submitted by Bethesda owner ZeniMax Media Inc., which itself is owned by Microsoft. The trademark has already sparked speculation about whether it relates to an expansion-sized DLC that might follow the upcoming Shattered Space, or a smaller-scale DLC, perhaps focused on the player character. It looks like Starborn may be Starfield's next expansion [Hidden Content] — Timur222 (@bogorad222) July 29, 2024 Warning! Spoilers for Starfield follow. The word Starborn in the context of Starfield relates to the beings revealed after the player character collects enough artifacts for Constellation. During the course of the Starfield story, the beings are confirmed to be humans who have passed through a portal that enables travel between universes. When you complete the main story for Starfield, you can begin a New Game Plus immediately. To do this, you must decide to become Starborn during the final quest, One Giant Leap. Starfield launched on PC and Xbox Series X and S in September 2023 as the biggest Microsoft-published game of the year. IGN’s Starfield review returned a 7/10. We said: “Starfield has a lot of forces working against it, but eventually the allure of its expansive roleplaying quests and respectable combat make its gravitational pull difficult to resist.” Since then, Bethesda has released a number of updates for the game, but it is this year’s Shattered Space expansion that is expected to give the action role-playing game a big shot in the arm. In June, Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard insisted the developer was committed to supporting Starfield long term, and confirmed at least one other story expansion will release following this year’s Shattered Space. Could it be Starborn? Howard said Bethesda is aiming to release an annual story expansion for “hopefully a very long time.” As for Shattered Space itself, Howard has likened it to the well-received Fallout 4 DLC Far Harbor. It’s a busy time for the 450-person Bethesda Game Studios, which currently operates five teams: Starfield; Elder Scrolls 6; Fallout 76; mobile; and external development partnerships. It’s working on the aforementioned Elder Scrolls 6, ongoing content for Fallout 76, various mobile games, updates for older games, and, eventually, the next Fallout. But will Starfield see a sequel? If it does materialize it may be some time before we see anything of it, with Elder Scrolls 6 expected no earlier than 2028 and another Fallout game set to follow. A recently registered trademark filed by ZeniMax Media implies that Starfield will follow up Shattered Space with an expansion bearing the name Starborn. Though the team at Bethesda has shied away from revealing any details about Shattered Space beyond its trailer, Todd Howard has assured fans that Starfield would receive more than just one expansion as part of its post-launch support. Despite having a mixed reception at launch, Starfield shattered Bethesda's records and, according to the publisher, had 10 million players during its peak, either playing via the Xbox Game Pass or through a purchased copy. Baldur's Gate 3 is on the verge of another big update with the upcoming release of Patch 7, and one of the biggest reasons to revisit the game when it drops might be one that's barely been advertised. Despite its significant length, replayability is a big part of Baldur's Gate 3's appeal, with some deeply reactive options and branching paths making subsequent playthroughs unique. What can really spice up a campaign is when the game itself changes in updates, something that's been happening steadily since the game officially released in August 2023. View the full article

***** by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has always sought to partner itself with popular horror franchises, particularly those in the slasher sub-genre. They listed numerous prominent examples, including Friday the 13th, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and IT, but also named some non-horror (at least in the traditional sense) options like Bioshock.
