  1. Season 12 of Overwatch 2 brings about the arrival of new support hero Juno. But there’s a lot more than just a cute Martian girl with a jetpack on the way. There are also new maps, a new mode, balancing updates, and of course, a new battle pass. The season 12 battle pass has several new skins for players to add to their collections, and they have a fun theme with some pretty cool designs. View the full article

Now, she’s ready to launch in season 12, called New Frontiers. View the full article
  3. Overwatch 2 might be free to play, but that’s not stopping the hero shooter from coming to Game Pass. And since you’re already getting the game for free, Xbox Game Pass owners can expect a suite of free cosmetics instead. Coming to Xbox Game Pass on Sept. 17, users with a subscription to the game service will be treated to several popular skins for free, including Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver. 4. Overwatch 2 is gearing up for Season 12 as Blizzard pulls back the curtain on what players can expect from the next major content drop. Despite accusations that the competitive hero-shooter is struggling to stay relevant, Overwatch 2 still boasts a healthy player base that's already excited to gain access to a new hero, an additional game mode, and several shiny customization options. Season 12 is just around the corner, beginning on August 20, so there are just a few days left to complete the current Battle Pass and prepare for the next collection of rewards. 5. Nobody likes war, but unfortunately for everyone in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, there's not much anyone can stop it from coming. It's been a couple of years since the first season of The Rings of Power aired, but here we are just a couple of weeks away from season 2. Ahead of the newest season, Amazon has released the final trailer for it, showing how war is brewing all across Middle-earth. It looks like this season is going to have some quite big setpieces, with armies of orcs and the like fighting one another on massive battlefields - you know, the usual kind of Lord of the Rings stuff! This particular season covers a big battle in the series, the Siege of Eregion, and let's just say it won't be an easy one. As well as all the big war stuff, you've also got Celebrimbor trying to come to terms with what he's done, notably helping Sauron with his plans. Of course Sauron can be seen sauntering around setting up his plans, and he's looking like just as much a regular guy as he has in every trailer. Fan favourite Tom Bombail wasn't anywhere to be seen, but he is meant to be showing up somewhere along the line, so you have that to look forward to too. All in all, it looks like you're in for a pretty good time! Read more View the full article
  6. If you only pay attention to PC releases when they drop on Steam, you may have missed the release of Witchfire, the new game from The Astronauts. It arrived nearly a year ago on the Epic Games Store, and though it didn’t launch with a lot of content, it received nearly-universal praise. We also happen to be big fans of Witchfire here, and the developer has some really good news for those who have been eagerly anticipating the game's arrival on Steam. Read more View the full article
  7. The next advance in video game graphics technology is not ray-tracing or tray-racing or any variation thereof - it's janky stop motion and rubbish plastic dolls, and it actually began about 30 years ago, when I watched the Adam and Joe show for the first time. If you never watched the Adam and Joe show, they used to do home movie recreations of famous films like Titanic and Saving Private Ryan using stuffed animals and action figures. I found these "Toymovies" hysterical as a **** - I suspect they are less so now. Probably, they are full of jokes we might tentatively class as "of their time". The point is, Reptilian Rising is sort of Toymovie: The Game. Read more View the full article
  8. What are the Stalker 2 weapons? It has now been confirmed there are 35 different weapons in Stalker 2, and each ******* can be modified with attachments and upgrades to make them feel distinctly different. 12. The massive number of skins you can choose from in Fortnite is easily one of the game’s coolest features. It’s even better that this includes both collaboration designs and Fortnite originals like the Sparkle Skull skin. The process for obtaining skins looks different depending on when and how they’re released. Some skins are available through the battle pass, some are exclusive offers only available for a limited time like The Paradigm, and some are only in the shop. This can make figuring out how to get the one you’re after tricky, so here’s how to get the Sparkle Skull skin in Fortnite. View the full article
  13. Image: AMD AMD launched its first Zen 5 desktop processors earlier this month, and tomorrow, it’s about to release what looks like a disappointing flagship Ryzen 9 9950X CPU. Early reviews of the initial Zen 5 CPUs — the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X — revealed a lack of performance improvements and efficiencies, and now reviews of the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X are coming to the same conclusion. Hardware Unboxed has tested a variety of productivity workloads and games with the 9950X, and the results make the previous generation Ryzen 9 7950X chip look like a better value in most cases. Over a 13-game average running at 1080p with an RTX 4090, Hardware Unboxed found that the 9950X was just a single percent faster than the existing 7950X. AMD’s new... 16. A new gameplay system leaked for Honkai: Star Rail 2.5 was originally putting players at a disadvantage, but it seems like the mechanics have undergone a much-needed buff ahead of the updates arrival. Version 2.5 will continue the story arc started with Version 2.4, which sent players back to the Xianzhou Luoufu to attend the Wardance. There are already a few confirmed details about what players can expect from the next patch, starting with the hunt for Hoolay, a prisoner who escaped the Shackling Prison. There are also three confirmed characters: Moze, Lingsha, and Feixiao in Honkai: Star Rail 2.5. View the full article
  17. If you've been dying to check out the Until Dawn remake, there's good news: it finally has a release date, along with a trailer showing you its changes. Back in May, during a PlayStation State of Play, a remake of the 2015 horror title from Supermassive Games was announced, despite not even being a decade old yet, but hey ***, that's how the industry is these days. It wasn't announced with a release date, but earlier today PlayStation confirmed over on the official PlayStation Blog that you'll be able finally play it this coming October 4, on both PS5 and PC. This announcement came paired with a new trailer, which you can check out below, comparing and contrasting various scenes between the original and the remake. The first obvious difference is that the visuals are looking a bit better, with the game having been relit and rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5. "One of our key visual improvements for Until Dawn has been around revisiting the character models and bringing them in line with modern advances in character modeling and rendering," explains the blog post. Hi-Fi Rush by developer Tango Gameworks finally ended its Xbox exclusivity after over a year when it was released on PlayStation 5 in March 2024, which led many to believe a Nintendo Switch version was on the way. 24. Well, it happened to me. By my count, approximately 97% of the human race fell deep into a Fallout ***** after Amazon dropped all eight episodes of its TV series this April, and you bet your bottom bottle cap I was one of them. It took me a while to settle on the one I was gonna pour my time into, though.
