Rust is home to some of the most creatively antagonistic building designs in any survival crafting game, but that's mostly out of necessity to deter thieves from stealing precious metals and weaponry. 7. Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7's campaign is a short but adventurous romp through some trippy hallucinations and a whole lot of Avalon. Once it comes to an unceremonious end and before you're thrust into Avalon once more for the fun Endgame PvE mode, one last cutscene plays during the credits and teases what may be coming next in the game's storyline. Stop reading now if you're avoiding spoilers. Otherwise, scroll on down to find out more. Table of contents****** Ops 7 campaign ending credits scene explainedWho was the man at the end of the BO7 campaign?****** Ops 7 campaign ending credits scene explained Screenshot by Destructoid In BO7's final campaign mission, Mason and co. save the day by destroying Emma Kagan and The Guild's facility that they were planning to use to deploy the Cradle biological weapon all over the world, and Kegan has been captured and brought into custody to face justice. But with Emma Kagan captured, it appears The Guild is still active and someone new is in charge, judging by the reveal we get in the final scene. And so this is not the end. Who was the man at the end of the BO7 campaign? Screenshot by Destructoid The man at the end of BO7's campaign in the teaser scene during the credits is an unknown, new character to the ****** Ops franchise, or at least someone who has been minor in the shadows up until this point. The subtitles reveal his name is Dorne, but beyond that, we don't know much else just yet. We can see that he is a part of The Guild judging by the robot characters and technology around him, so it appears Treyarch is setting him up to be the new villain moving forward. ****** Ops 6's campaign had a similar ending that teased a character named Jackson Caine. Caine ended up being one of the driving forces behind seasonal cutscenes and content drops throughout BO6, and so Dorne will likely have a similar role moving forward throughout the next year or so of lore drops. This time around, though, Treyarch will be able to use content drops in the 32-player PvE mode Endgame to expand the story, so the potential for a more cohesive narrative to take place for the next 10 or so months is highly possible. You can watch the full BO7 campaign ending in the video by MrDalekJD below: [Hidden Content] The post ****** Ops 7 ending, explained: Who was the guy at the end? appeared first on Destructoid. 8. Call of Duty never ends. Once you roll credits on one feature, there's even more to come thanks to seasonal content. Season one of ****** Ops 7 is being called the "biggest season ever" in CoD, and judging by what Treyarch and Activision have already revealed about it, I'm inclined to agree. Whether it's weapons, maps, Zombies, Warzone, game modes, or even Endgame, there's something to look forward to not long after launch. Here's everything we know so far about what's to come in season one of BO7. Table of contentsWhen does ****** Ops 7 season 1 start?****** Ops 7 season 1 countdownEverything included in ****** Ops 7 season 1Seven weaponsSeven multiplayer mapsNew multiplayer modesThree Zombies mapsNew Zombies contentNew Endgame contentWarzone integrationCollaborationsWhen does ****** Ops 7 season 1 start? Image via Activision According to the in-game timer for the end of ****** Ops 6's season six, season one of ****** Ops 7 should begin on Thursday, Dec. 4 at around 11am CT. This information is not yet official, but Treyarch and Activision will announce something concrete in the weeks following BO7's release on Nov. 14. ****** Ops 7 season 1 countdown The countdown timer below ends right when BO7 season one should begin. Weapons will be available for free in the battle pass as well as unlockable with challenges in limited time events. Seven multiplayer maps Screenshot by Destructoid In sticking with the game's theme, sevens are wild this season. Season one will include seven new and remastered maps, including BO2 classics Standoff and Meltdown, new maps called Fate, Utopia, and Odysseus, and one more. New multiplayer modes Sticks and Stones, the classic party mode from ****** Ops 1, will make its return shortly after season one, along with Prop Hunt, holiday limited time modes, and more. Three Zombies maps Image via Activision A new round-based map, Astra Malorum, highlights season one, along with two new Survival maps for Zombies gamers to enjoy. New Zombies content Light Mend, Mister Peeks, and Frost Blast are among the Zombies loadout equipment being added in season one. Treyarch also confirmed limited time Zombies modes for the holidays and later. New Endgame content Screenshot by Destructoid Treyarch is tight-lipped about additional Endgame content so far, but Activision reps hinted at limited time modes and more coming as part of season one, including some very familiar boss enemies, and potentially more to come. Warzone integration BO7 content will be fully integrated into the free-to-play Warzone as part of season one, including the new Resurgence map Haven's Hollow and all of the weapons in the game. Collaborations In a now-deleted post by leaker @TheGhostofHope, they reported that season one will feature a collaboration with Bethesda's Fallout series. While Activision has said that BO7 will be "more grounded" in its design, but collabs will likely still take place. This article will be updated with official information whenever it's announced by Activision and Treyarch. The post When is ****** Ops 7 season 1? 9. The Locked Gate event has arrived in ARC Raiders as part of The North Line update, and completing it will require a fair amount of coordination. Like all map conditions, the Locked Gate isn't available at all times. You'll have to be lucky to find it on a map rotation. This guide will help you to complete the event successfully if you manage to start a raid while it's available. Table of contentsARC Raiders Locked Gate event walkthroughCheckpoint Gate locationARC Raiders Locked Gate event walkthrough The Locked Gate event takes place on the Blue Gate map, but adds a custom modifier. The modifier restricts you from using any Raider Hatches and also blocks entry to the underground tunnels. All of this is part of an emergency shutdown protocol. Your job will be to find relevant security codes to open a locked gate (hence, the name). Control Room in ARC Raiders. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid To begin the quest, head to the Gate Control Room inside the Warehouse Complex. I have marked its location on the screenshot below, but it's hard to miss. The Warehouse Complex is located between the central and the northern part of the Blue Gate map. Head inside the room, and you'll find four systems. When you try to interact with them, you'll be asked for security codes. Finding the security codes is easy, as they will have a POI in their respective names. Security code locations on Blue Gate. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid If you're trying to find the Pilgrim's Peak code, you'll have to head over to the location. All four POIs will be present on the Blue Gate map, but finding them can take a fair amount of time (not to mention the added dangers of ARC enemies and enemy Raiders). Checkpoint Gate location The locked gate location on Blue Gate. Screenshot and remix by Destructoid Once you have found all four codes, head back to the Gate Control Room. Use the four codes to unlock the central gate in the Checkpoint POI (marked on the screenshot above). You'll find an unlocked gate, along with plenty of valuable items to loot inside. However, be highly cautious as enemy Raiders could try to ambush you for a free lot. The post How to complete Locked Gate event in ARC Raiders appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
  10. If you ask random gamers what price they think Valve will charge for its newly announced Steam Machine hardware, you’ll get a wide range of guesses. But if you ask the analysts who follow the game industry for a living the same question… well, you’ll actually get the same wide range of (somewhat better-informed) guesses. At the high end of those guesses are analysts like F-Squared‘s Michael Futter, who expects a starting price of $799 to $899 for the entry-level 512GB Steam Machine and a whopping $1,000 to $1,100 for the 2TB version. With internal specs that Futter says “will rival a PS5 and maybe even hit PS5 Pro performance,” we can expect a “hefty price tag” from Valve’s new console-like effort. At the same time, since Valve is “positioning this as a dedicated, powerful gaming PC… I suspect that the price will be below a similarly capable traditional desktop,” Futter said. DFC Intelligence analyst David Cole similarly expects the Steam Machine to start at a price “around $800” and go up to “around $1,000” for the 2TB model. Cole said he expects Valve will seek “very low margins” or even break-even pricing on the hardware itself, which he said would probably lead to pricing “below a gaming PC but slightly above a high-end console.” Read full article Comments View the full article
  11. Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has announced another round of layoffs, which is at least its fourth in two years. 16. There are plenty of unique skills to give you a competitive or looting advantage in ARC Raiders, but the Security Breach skill is easily one of the most rewarding in the game. Unlocked after putting 36 points into Survival, the Security Breach skill lets you access any of the several Security Lockers scattered around each map for free, which is one of the best farming methods for high-rarity weapons, gear, and Blueprints alike. 19. You can now drop whatever other roguelite you're using to fill the Vampire Survivors-shaped hole in your soul to experience the game in VR, the official X account of the developers has announced—as long as you own a modern Quest machine, that is. [Hidden Content] The announcement proudly states that "you can be the bullet hell with your face", which is one of the most puzzling statements I've ever read, but probably no more so than the concept of using VR to play a third-person perspective game. No, really, the new take on the game seems to play exactly the same as the original, meaning players help a tiny sprite to fight off and avoid coming in contact with a horde of other tiny sprites and their deadly projectiles. This approach is the only one that makes sense for a game where the player needs to be aware of all of their surroundings at all times, but it still feels like something that'd work wonders as an April Fools' prank. [Hidden Content] Either way, I'm sure both hardcore fans of the game and VR enthusiasts will probably find something to like here. What's definitely not great, however, is how Vampire Survivors VR currently leaves out not only all non-Meta VR headsets on the market, but also all Meta Quest headsets before version 3. Pretty strange, considering we're probably looking at one of the least graphically demanding VR games to come out in a while. Should this one prove a hit, we'll hopefully see it spreading to other VR platforms and even see similar titles, such as the more recent and also excellent Megabonk, making their way into VR. You can now help Poe survive the vampire horde in VR on Meta Quest 3 and 3S.
