  2. Boil the kettle, we're having cheap ramen. If you liked Townscaper for simple seaside town tinkering, or enjoyed the forest-dwelling demo of Tiny Glade's homely castle creation, you might get a satisfied sigh out of this. Dystopika is a cyberpunk build 'n' chill where you place down skyscrapers, apartment blocks, factories, and imposing ziggurats straight out of Blade Runner. There's no goal, no big number to hit or yammering town mayor to appease. Just some low tempo music, straightforward building controls, and the ability to insert your own cat pictures on the sci-fi billboards. Read more View the full article

  5. Here, an odd looking new film from the director of Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks, has received its first trailer and it looks… static. A fairly common thing amongst most films, I'm sure you've probably noticed by now, is that they normally feature lots of different camera angles. Some might stay with one particular shot for a while, they might move around a lot, there could be lots of cuts, or it could just be presented as a one take. But generally, the camera will move. With Robert Zemeckis' upcoming Here, though, it's a whole different story, as in the first trailer for it - which you can check out below - you can see that the entire film will be shot from one camera angle. Yes, it's quite an odd choice, but it's based on a graphic novel of the same name by Richard McGuire, which does the exact same thing, so it's not like Zemeckis is straying far from the source material. It stars Hanks, a regular collaborator of Zemeckis', alongside Robin Wright, who all previously worked together on the aforementioned Forrest Gump. As you can tell from the trailer, the story spans multiple centuries of time, all the way back to when the dinosaurs walked the earth, up to when we meet our main characters, Richard and Margaret (Hanks and Wright respectively), and over the course of what looks to be their entire lives. As you can also tell from the trailer, Hanks and Wright have been subjected to de-aging technology, and yeah, as always it looks creepy. Read more View the full article

  7. History is clearly on the mind of ****** Desert developer Pearl Abyss, which given the game is celebrating its 10th anniversary in an 800 year-old French castle, isn't that surprising. Nonetheless, as Pearl Abyss reels off a list of planned new features for its MMO, I'm struck by how much ****** Desert's future dwells upon ideas of the past. Not only is the game currently wrapping up an expansion heavily inspired by Korean traditions and folklore, its more distant plans will see players explore the history of ****** Desert itself, by travelling back in time thousands of years... 8. Several Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super cards are reportedly being made with a different GPU from previous cards, with graphics card manufacturers apparently replacing the standard RTX 4070 Ti chip with the larger chip used in the flagship RTX 4090. Before you get excited, though, this sadly doesn't mean these new RTX 4070 Ti cards are going to run at RTX 4090 speeds. Released at the start of 2024, the RTX 4070 Ti Super updated the previous RTX 4070 Ti in several key ways. Nvidia increased the VRAM from 12GB to 16GB, widened the memory interface, and added 768 more CUDA cores as well, making it a more powerful gaming graphics card in every way. This wasn't enough to propel the GPU onto our best graphics card guide, but it was definitely an improvement. Read the rest of the story... 12. Elden Ring‘s DLC has some of the hardest bosses ever invented by FromSoftware. Though there are quite a few difficult challenges, here are our picks for the most difficult boss fights in Shadow of the Erdtree. Most difficult boss fights in Shadow of the Erdtree For the sake of this list, we have focused primarily on Remembrance Bosses in the DLC, as they have proven the most challenging to face. However, we have reserved a couple of spots for honorable dungeon boss mentions simply because they’ve thrashed the majority of players that have come across them. View the full article

  17. It turns out that the developers behind Street Fighter 6 had considered unifying the character names across all regions, but eventually gave up. This means that, at least for the foreseeable future, M. Bison will be Vega, and Dictator. Oh, and Balrog is still M. Bison in Japan. Call 'em what you like. Speaking to VG247 at Summer Game Fest, both Takayuki Nakayama and Shuhei Matsumoto offered their insight into the dilemma. This was part of a larger interview which you can read right here! VG247: Speaking of not being confusing to new players... and I've had this conversation with a few developers working on older ********* games, like Sonic Team, because they've had the same problem with Eggman and Robotnik and all that... do you not just get tempted to say, ****** it, and unify the names? 22. Long time Stardew Valley players are just now discovering a useful feature for their farms. One of the game's major aspects is farm customization, and it is something many players put a lot of thought into. Each player has their own thoughts about how a farm should be set up, and first-time Stardew Valley players often go back and forth between whether they should focus on planting crops, managing animals, or the production of other goods, like wine and jelly. A perfect blend can give players enough money to live a rich life and the chance to focus on other things. View the full article
  23. The greatest Counter-Strike map, whether you're playing 1.6, CSGO, or Counter-Strike 2, will always be Dust. That's immutable. That's an objective truth. But there are plenty of other arenas in Valve's landmark FPS that deserve plaudits, especially those that have been built and shared by the community. An old favorite that has survived in various iterations across virtually every version of the game, one of the coolest and most-loved CS maps, is finally in Counter-Strike 2. 25. From Software has released an Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree patch designed to make the game easier. The expansion includes a new levelling system based on Scadutree fragments, in-game items found around the world that are used to increase a character’s abilities to deal and negate damage.
