  13. Valve dropped a CS2 update earlier today aimed at putting an end to hardware-assisted counter-strafing. An inadvertent side-effect has already popped up though: The game is now kicking innocent players for quickly pressing buttons. These frequent kicks seem to be from the strafe detection code being too sensitive, as reported by Counter-Strike 2 players across the CS subreddit and X (formerly Twitter). Until it’s dialed down to more reasonable levels, you’re hereby warned from repeatedly pressing the sidewise movement buttons (which are A and D for most CS2 players) if you are playing on Valve’s official matchmaking servers—you may get kicked. 14. Counter-Strike legend s1mple has shared a candid update regarding his future in the Valve esport, saying he’s as motivated as ever and is tired of “doing nothing” but acknowledges it’s tough to return to a team that has found immense success since his CS2 hiatus began. The 26-year-old Counter-Strike superstar talked about his return in a series of posts on his Telegram account last weekend as the glamorous IEM Cologne event rolled on without him in attendance. “There are things that are hard to talk about, but the motivation never faded,” s1mple said in the update. It’s “just a matter of time” until he makes a return, he added, though he didn’t give a hard date as to when we’ll see him hit the server. View the full article

  16. As a history buff and someone who enjoys the **** of War games, I found today’s NYT crossword clue a walk in the park. The Fallout franchise is explicitly linked to the ******* States with post-apocalyptic Americana baked into the series' very essence. 19. ****** Myth: Wukong has lots of things in common with the Souls games, and rechargeable healing potions are among them. The Gourd is Wukong’s version of a healing potion, and it gets its charges back every time you rest at a Shrine, but this makes enemies respawn, too. You need all the healing you can get to progress in ****** Myth: Wukong, so you should upgrade your Gourd whenever you have the opportunity. You can upgrade the number of uses or mix in different ingredients to alter the Gourd’s effects, but first, you need to find Shen Monkey in Chapter One. View the full article

Getting a free Ability Point is essentially the same as getting a free level-up, so finding every Meditation Spot is key to reaching your full potential. To make matters easier, as soon as you’ve found one Meditation Spot in a chapter, ****** Myth: Wukong tells you exactly how many more you need. They’re often easily missable, though, especially in Chapter Two and on—if you want to find them all, this comprehensive guide’s here to help. View the full article
  21. There's no shortage of strategy games that riff off of XCOM, but one of this year's most interesting newcomers has to be Capes. The turn-based superhero tactics title might not be revered as a genre-defining experience, but it's certainly distinctive and has gone over well with a lot of strategy fans. It's now got some additional content for you to try, as a brand new update drops four new missions into the game. Read the rest of the story... 22. Valve is laying down the law with the advancement in keyboard inputs, slamming input-automation features, and even going so far as to name Snap Tap as an example. In a major blog post, Valve stops short of threatening a ban for CS2 players, instead warning that matches may be interrupted if the feature is left on. Some of the best gaming keyboards now come with this new input technology, and while Snap Tap is Razer's version of this, it isn't the only one that has been blacklisted by Valve. Wooting's Rappy Snappy is also on the chopping block, and this move sets a concerning precedent for other competitive shooters to follow. Read the rest of the story...
