While we eagerly await Star Wars Outlaws, Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr are taking us back to an earlier version of the galaxy far, far away's ********* underworld with a remaster of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, starring Jango Fett. The reveal trailer, which came out of nowhere, doesn't do a whole lot of explaining what's actually new in this new release of the often overlooked GameCube and PS2 original, but the official PlayStation blog has all the deets, at least when it comes to the PlayStation versions. It's launching on PS5/4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on August 1. The Pokémon Company has officially unveiled the schedule for its 2025 esports season, with huge changes coming to how players can qualify for the World Championships from next year. Previously, players needed to reach a set Championship Point (CP) threshold to get an invite, with everyone who hit this threshold qualifying. From next year, however, only a set number of players from each rating zone, age division, and game will earn a spot, with invitations based on Championship leaderboard standings. AMD is apparently considering increasing the thermal design power (TDP) of its upcoming Ryzen 7 9700X Zen 5 CPU from 65W to 120W, in order to ensure it can outperform the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in games. This significant jump in peak power consumption could allow the chip to increase its clock speed further, potentially pushing its performance just that little bit ahead of the older chip. With the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D continuing to be the single best gaming CPU you can buy right now, thanks to its extra L3 cache chip (the X3D bit), AMD had previously stated that it expects this chip to remain the champion for gaming until an X3D version of the 9700X is produced. It's disappointing, maybe a little frustrating, but in a lot of instances I think games being delayed is a good thing in the long run. Frostpunk 2 is one of the most-wanted new strategy and city-building games of 2024, and after tearing through Cities Skylines 2 and experimenting with Manor Lords, I was all fired up for 11bit's sequel which was scheduled to land in July. The Frostpunk 2 launch date has just been delayed and that might seem like bad news. But it's for a good reason - based on initial feedback, the developers want to make it better.
