  1. Walker Exosuits in Helldivers 2 were a welcome addition, though players soon found them to be less powerful than expected. With quick ammo depletion, they can be rendered useless fast—but one player seems to have found a solution. Enter: Rearm Exosuit Strategem to refill functional, depleted Walkers. A Reddit user shared their suggestion on May 26, complete with a Strategem combination and concept art. As Exosuits lose their ammo quickly, walking around inside of them becomes obsolete, so the user believes players should have the ability to rearm them if they’re not destroyed. They also pondered on how to implement these changes without causing too many bugs or disruption to the game, and their best idea seems to be that players could call in a resupply pod and manually reload the Exosuit. 2. One Elden Ring player recently saw their attempt to cast Comet Azur go hilariously wrong, all because their target was approaching them from a slightly elevated terrain. Their unfortunate experience, which later made the rounds on social media, underlines the polarizing nature of this Elden Ring spell. View the full article
  3. Bungie has won a major lawsuit against AimJunkies, marking another warning for Destiny 2 cheat sellers. The video game maker was suing the four men behind the website, whom the Destiny 2 developer claimed were harming the games player base by selling cheats. Not only had the Washington-based studio received thousands of complaints from gamers about cheaters, but Bungie had also doled out millions of dollars in anti-cheat strategies. View the full article
  4. Recent rumors surrounding Fortnite's Rocket Racing spinoff have suggested that the racing game may be receiving its own battle pass in the near future. The massively popular battle royale from Epic Games has seen major expansion in recent years, adding a variety of new spinoffs to the game's universe. LEGO Fortnite thrusts players into a sandbox survival game similar to Minecraft, while Fortnite Festival takes a note from Guitar Hero as a rhythm game. Now, Rocket Racing is rumored to be receiving a major update to the game in the near future. View the full article

  6. In V Rising, there are many different weapons and ******* types for players to choose from, and now there is a new ******* to find and unlock, the Whip. The Longbow and the Whip were both added with the newest update to the game, and players might have a tougher time unlocking the Whip, depending on their player level. Unlike many other basic versions of weapons, the Whip will not be available until the mid-game. View the full article
  7. A decade since launch, Paradox Interactive's mighty Europa Universalis 4 ******** one of the best grand strategy games on PC. Much like rivals Civilization 6 and Stellaris, EU4 continues to grow through community-made mods alongside its official expansions. One of the most creative and interesting of these yet is Europa Universalis 4: Post Finem, which dares to imagine how our world might look absent the influence of the mighty Roman Empire. 8. CS2 received a major gameplay update on May 23, primarily the economy, and the changes are already creating a divide in the community. However, one fundamental change—the CT-side incendiary grenade nerf—is being praised by many as a “good start” and a step in the right direction. Discussions in a Reddit thread posted today on May 26 have been quite divisive, put positive feedback seems to be winning out, chiefly due to how powerful CT incendiaries were on select maps and chokepoints such as the Inferno Banana. The thread’s creator claims that the nerfs have gutted CT’s defense due to reduced ***** spread and damage. Others said the change was much-needed and that incendiaries now function similarly to how they did in CS:GO. View the full article
  9. Despite XDefiant encountering its fair share of technical hiccups during launch weekend, the Ubisoft shooter is getting off to a promising start. 10. Bungie has now won its lawsuit against Destiny 2 cheat sellers AimJunkies/ Phoenix Digital, though it's not much of a win. Earlier this week, the trial between Bungie and cheat sellers AimJunkies began, and as reported by Stephen Totilo, it was a win for the Destiny 2 developer. This was a pretty landmark case, as it might be the first time a jury, in the US at the very least, has ruled on a game cheating case. The result has led to Bungie receiving a measly (for it, anyway) $63,210 in damages, obviously not a huge sum, but it is just the amount that Bungie will have supposedly lost due to the cheat-selling. Important to note is that in most cases cheat sellers/ makers just give up when developers impose legal pressures on them, as going up against big companies can obviously be a huge financial risk, but as reported by Totilo at Game File, AimJunkie/ Phoenix Digital actually counter-sued Bungie, themselves alleging that the developer had accessed the person who allegedly violated Bungie's copyright James May's computer "without his authorization, [then] accessed one or more copyrighted works on his personal computer." 11. A ***** from Honkai: Star Rail is teasing a powered-up version of a classic boss for its new "Apocalyptic Shadow" game mode, expected to launch in Version 2.3. The sci-fi RPG has seen plenty of major additions to the game since the release of Penacony as its newest in-game world. The popular Simulated Universe game mode received its newest world with the addition of World 9 featuring "Something Unto ******" as its main boss, while events have added mini-games like Cosmodyssey. Now, Version 2.3 will reportedly heavily focus on endgame content. View the full article
  12. Like any Souls-like game, No Rest for the Wicked is largely defined by its challenging combat and boss fights. Aside from the bosses that progress the main storyline, there are plenty of hidden, powerful enemies found throughout Sacra. 13. I've really appreciated how Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 treat us like adults: that's right, baby, our RPGs have tasteful premium cable nudity now, throw that formerly de rigueur loincloth diaper in the trash and feel the breeze. Both games, however, have a censored mode for more impressionable audiences, and while Cyberpunk just slaps a pair of briefs on V and calls it a day, Baldur's Gate 3's solution had me cackling when I saw it in action... 15. As popular as they might be, Warner Bros. has seemingly threatened to "********" YouTuber ToastedShoes' channel over his Mortal Kombat 1 mod videos. While they can obviously get you in a bit of trouble, mods for fighting games are actually pretty popular, primarily because it's just plain old funny to watch the most random of people or characters duke it out (take this Mortal Kombat 1 Kendrick vs Drake mod, for example). However, YouTuber ToastedShoes has found himself in that aforementioned trouble, claiming that Warner Bros. is "threatening to ********" his YouTube channel, leaving him uncertain in what he needs to do. ToastedShoes is known for a big range of popular modding videos, with Mortal Kombat 1 being amongst so of his most popular. "This morning I received an IP Infringement Notification directly from Warner Brothers stating that the Mortal Kombat mods in my content 'infringe' on their intellectual property rights," ToastedShoes wrote on Twitter earlier this week. "I've been requested to delete all Mortal Kombat 1 videos from my channel or else they will issue copyright strikes and essentially delete my channel in its entirety. Read more View the full article
  16. A new Genshin Impact ***** is hinting at the ******* type and signature ******* for upcoming unconfirmed character Emilie, currently rumored to be releasing during Version 4.8. While the HoYoverse RPG often eases off its new character releases during the second half of its regional cycles, Fontaine has shown no signs of slowing down. Each new version has consistently added new characters to the game, with Version 4.7 set to welcome three new characters in Clorinde, Sigewinne, and Sethos. Now, Version 4.8 is reportedly looking to have a featured character of its own. View the full article

  18. Larian Studios isn't making the next Baldur's Gate, but the third game's narrative director doesn't care what it's like, as long as it's not made just for profit. Look, we all know that for rights holders, executives, and the like, sequels and follow-ups to established IP are really just money makers. And with how well Baldur's Gate 3 has done since its 1.0 release last year, it's an entirely safe bet that someone will be making a sequel. That someone just won't be Larian, as it said as much earlier this year, even if it was something the studio was on board with once upon a time. Wizards of the Coast is currently looking into potential partners for future Baldur's Gate entries, though nothing is set in stone just yet, so you'll have to wait a little while longer. But in a recent interview with GamesRadar, narrative director Adam Smith shared his thoughts on a potential sequel. Smith explained that he doesn't really care about what a sequel might look like, for him the priority is that whoever makes it, they're making it for the sake of passion rather than purely financial reasons. "I don't mean that in a harsh way," he said. "What I would want is for somebody to do it because they wanted to do it, not because somebody said 'that would hit our earnings next quarter.'" 20. One Cyberpunk 2077 mystery is still baffling players four years after launch, and Phantom Liberty seems to have made it even more complicated. Originally released in 2020 in a wildly different form, the game has undergone a lot of changes, not least of which were part of Cyberpunks 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty DLC. Besides adding tons of new content, tweaking character progression, and fixing bugs, these major post-launch releases changed some of the finer details of how the story works. View the full article

  24. Helldivers 2 still has a problem with players getting kicked out of missions by griefers, but Arrowhead has at least promised a solution is on the way. In this day and age, it's pretty necessary to allow lobby leaders in games to kick players out of a squad if they're causing trouble. After all, if someone is just taking the mick, harassing other players, or anything similar, it can really ruin the experience of playing. It could especially cause problems in a game like Helldivers 2 which features friendly ***** - just imagine if players could come in and ***** other players without consequences. But, Helldivers 2 actually has a different problem that comes from the ability to kick other players out - one that sees lobby leaders kicking others out right before a mission ends so they can't benefit from the results. Right now, there's no solution to this problem, but as spotted by [Hidden Content], over in the official Helldivers 2 Discord, a spark of hope has at least been offered. After one member of the server asked if players could "keep 50 percent of the samples collected if [they] get kicked by an ********* lobby leader when the dropship has been called" community manager Twinbeard shared that Arrowhead is "actually working on a solution to mitigate problems with, well, 'getting kicked by an ********* lobby leader' as someone once eloquently put it. No ETA on that, but it's coming." Read more View the full article
  25. Image: Samar Haddad / The Verge From the earliest pixelated games to the outrageously realistic experiences of today, flight simulators have always been pushing the boundaries of what can be visually recreated in a video game. It’s one thing to make space look good; it’s another thing entirely to faithfully recreate the cockpit of a 747 and the whole world around which it might fly. On this episode of The Vergecast, the fourth and final installment of our series on the five senses of video games, we asked Polygon’s Charlie Hall to help us make sense of the current state of the art in flight simulation. Hall, who once spent more than four months in VR mapping the edge of the Milky Way galaxy in Elite: Dangerous, has more experience in a virtual cockpit than most. We...
