Master Duel Forbidden and Limited list is always a hot topic of discussion in the community, especially since it sees frequent updates. Yu-Gi-Oh! uses a Forbidden and Limited list to put restrictions on certain cards to try to prevent specific strategies from being abused in any given format for more than a few months at a time. 11. Wizards of the Coast finally addressed the timing of Magic: The Gathering Banned & Restricted announcements on Aug. 26, promising players improvements to the system moving forward. The Aug. 26 MTG Banned & Restricted announcement applied big changes to formats like Modern and Pioneer, but for many competitive players, the bans came too late. The initial schedule was set up to coincide with MTG set releases, but ignored the organized play system that includes Regional Championships, Regional Championship Qualifiers, and even Pro Tour events. With the Modern format RCQ season kicking off at the beginning of August, bans on Nadu and Grief are late in the minds of competitive players. WotC acknowledged the scheduling mishap in the Aug. 26 B&R announcement, applying changes that will go into effect before the end of the year. View the full article

  17. The latest PlayStation-published live-service shooter Concord is here, and launch numbers are looking pretty bad so far. When it comes to concurrent player counts, numbers don't always matter, particularly for single-player games, but live-service titles are a different story. Valve's new hero shooter Deadlock, which it finally officially revealed last week, had a concurrent player count peak of 89,000 just yesterday, according to SteamDB, a very impressive figure for a game that isn't even out yet. However, while it's been playable for a little while now, as long as you've got an invite, this weekend did have an actual launch for another live-service hero shooter, Concord. Except, its Steam numbers are not doing so good, amassing only 697 players at one time on the game's launch day. Numbers just got worse over the weekend, when you'd expect more players to login to check it out, but nope, Saturday was worse than Friday, and Sunday worse than Saturday. That Friday launch figure is also pretty upsetting for another reason: it's smaller than last year's absolute trainwreck, and studio ruining, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which has a peak of 758 players (which it received when it launched and subsequently never topped). 21. It's no secret that today's wrestlers, whether from AEW or WWE, are massive gamers. Nevertheless, that doesn't stop the phenomenon of witnessing superstars like AEW's Will Ospreay displaying his affinity for *********'s Creed with a thematic entrance at yesterday's All In pay-per-view any less remarkable. August 25 was AEW's All In pay-per-view in Wembley Stadium, one of the biggest pay-per-view events in wrestling. One of the matches at the stacked four-hour event was Ospreay competing against Maxwell Jacob Friedman for the newly minted ********* championship. We. Are. Assassins. [Hidden Content] — Will Ospreay • ウィル・オスプレイ (@WillOspreay) August 25, 2024 Ospreay, the babyface, and out-and-proud *********'s Creed fan, made a statement before entering the ring with an *********'s Creed Shadow's inspired entrance. The entrance also had the distinction of being narrated by none other than Ezio's voice actor, Roger Craig Smith. Unlike Ospreay's *********'s Creed Syndicate entrance at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 18, his pyro-heavy All In entrance was kitted out with a crew of cloaked break dancers, *********'s Creed Shadows gameplay interspersed with his ******-defying flips, and Ezio cutting a promo hyping up the Essex-born "Aerial *********" to defeat MJF. Ospreay's entrance was all the motivation he needed to defeat MJF thanks to the help of his *********'s Creed-inspired Hidden Blade signature move and the long-awaited return of his devastating Tiger Driver '91. 25. Star Wars Outlaws takes place away from the main conflicts between the Empire and the Rebels, but does that mean Darth Vader isn’t involved? We’ve got the answer below.
