Stormgate is a confusing proposition. It's an RTS directed by former Blizzard developers that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike StarCraft. It's a free-to-play game, but has a business model that makes you feel like you're getting a rougher deal than if you just dropped thirty notes for it outright. It's available now in Early Access, but has already been available in a kind of gravity-defying Super Early Access for several weeks (which you had to pay to get into). Borderlands hasn't even been in cinemas for a month, and Lionsgate has already confirmed that it's getting a digital release this week. The Borderlands movie is not what I, or anyone else I think, would call good. I would call it very bad in fact, I did so in my review of the film, and unsurprisingly, the video game adaptation went on to ***** at the box office, opening with $16 million on a $115 million budget, which is, to put it bluntly, abysmal. Clearly this result didn't best please Lionsgate either, as yesterday the production company announced that the premium video and on-demand release of the film will be coming later this week, August 30. As a reminder, the film only came out on August 9, meaning it's available digitally just three weeks after it was released. You'll be able to buy the film for $25, or rent it for 48-hours, which will set you back $20. Obviously buying it is the better deal of the two, but if you ask me, don't bother with either and wait until it ends up on a streaming service, where you can say "oh, Borderland's on Netflix now" before promptly scrolling through all the other shows and movies before deciding you can't be bothered and hop back on Twitter. While it's set for full release on August 30, the early access ******* for Star Wars Outlaws is already underway, though in the cases of some PS5 players, it looks like that's not proving to be quite as much of a head start as they'd expected. This is thanks to issues that are seeing folks get stuck in space, and have to start a new save in order to proceed. If you pre-ordered either the Gold Edition or the Ultimate Edition of Outlaws, the game will have started unlocking over the past day or so, in order to offer you your "up to three days" of early access, which is one of the big benefits of having pulped for a more expensive version, alongside the usual kinds of extra goodies rolled in at launch that you might expect. Unfortunately, some players have reported that they've gotten a little way into the game, and then found themselves stranded off-world with no way to progress after completing certain missions. Now, in a new interview with Deadline, the iconic actor has confirmed that she will be appearing in the Star Wars flick, a big addition to what will be the first [/b]]Star Wars film in seven years by the time it releases - there's only been TV shows since 2019's Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker. When asked what the next movie Weaver is going to film, the actor responded, "I'm playing a role in The Mandalorian & Grogu [which will be directed by Jon Favreau]. I got to meet Grogu for the first time the other day. I’m filming that before I go to London for The Tempest at the end of the year." Unionised staff at Call of Duty studio Raven Software have filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board after claims that Activision and Microsoft are stalling over contract negotiations.
