  1. Sometimes, a Call of Duty match just needs a few extra bullets. And when I say a few, what I really mean is dozens more than normal. That’s what light machine guns are for. And in ****** Ops 6, one of the LMGs on offer is the XMG, which is the LMG version of the XM4 ******** rifle, one of the better guns in the game. The XMG brings more firepower and rounds to the table than the XM4, and sometimes, that’s exactly what the squad could use. View the full article
  2. Dynamax Pokémon has been a long-awaited Pokémon Go feature. And with the Galar region Starters making their way to the mobile game in the Max Out season, it’s now possible for you to get Dynamax Pokémon. There’s a specific way you have to go about unlocking Dynamax Pokémon, though. Not every Pokémon you catch or have in your collection can Dynamax in Pokémon Go, and it can be confusing to know what blocks this feature. Even if you have Pokémon who can Dynamax, there are a few steps you have to do before this can happen. Here’s what you need to know about how to Dynamax Pokémon in Pokémon Go for the Max Out season. Tracking them down will be a key objective, and you need to know what Pokémon you can use in these activities, how many players you can bring with you, and how to activate them. Here’s what you need to know about how Dynamax Battles work in Pokémon Go. View the full article
  4. A new update is now live for No Man's Sky, bringing new fishing mechanics to the game along with new cosmetics, cooking recipes, and an underwater-themed expedition. The update comes as something of a surprise to many in the community, with the content expanding on the previously-released Worlds Part 1 update rather than marking the launch of the greatly anticipated Worlds Part 2 update. Regardless, fishing is an addition that many No Man's Sky fans have hoped to see added to the game for years. View the full article
  5. Warner Bros have released the first trailer for Vertigo and Legendary's Minecraft movie, the long-awaited or possibly, long-dreaded adaptation of Mojang's industry-straddling block-builder. Quick disclosure: I worked with Mojang and Microsoft on a book about Minecraft's first 15 years, shortly before joining Rock Paper Shotgun. As such, I am now obliged by the eternal laws of journalistic accountability to state that anything Minecraft-related is rubbish. But even if that weren't the case, I would describe this as pretty dismal. Read more View the full article

  8. The pop-out controller doubles as a trackpad when docked. | Image: Acer Out of all the new laptops Acer announced at IFA today, Project DualPlay pops out the most. It’s a concept laptop that Acer says gives gamers more ways to play on the go, but looking at the design, I’m not sure which gamers it’s talking about. For Project DualPlay, Acer took its Predator gaming laptop and added a cutout beneath the keyboard to hold its custom gaming controller face-down. The back of the controller doubles as the laptop’s trackpad. A button at the top of the keyboard releases the controller and causes two 5W speakers to pop out from the sides of the laptop. The controller can be further separated into two gamepads, Nintendo Switch-style. Acer’s press release says Project DualPlay lets a second person join you just as... 9. Two weeks after its launch, Concord is set to go offline, and players are throwing themselves off the map in order to gain the game's Platinum trophy. The launch of Concord has been a point of controversy in recent days, but the remaining players are grinding in order to secure in-game rewards. View the full article
  10. Scalpers are currently trying to sell physical copies of Concord for much more than its recommended retail price after Sony pulled the hero shooter from ***** just 11 days after launch. Physical copies of Concord have been pulled from store shelves ahead of a server shut down on September 6, 2024. The PlayStation 5 and PC hero shooter launched to abysmal player numbers with analysts estimating as few as 25,000 copies were sold physically and digitally. Scalpers who still have a sealed copy of the game are therefore seeing it as an opportunity to make some money, listing Concord on eBay for double or even triple its price. Some sellers still have it available for its standard price of $39.99 so it's unlikely many of these will sell just yet, however. "Ships overnight on September 4, get on September 5 so you can play for a day before the servers shut down," reads one listing for an opened copy priced at $119.88. "On September 6 the game will be a rare unplayable collector's item." A sealed copy is currently listed for $179.99, though at least warns players of the September 6 takedown and says "buy at your own discretion." Its next comment is a tad more questionable: "Get ready for an epic gaming experience with Concord for the Sony PlayStation 5," it says. "This rare and highly sought after game is being recalled and is available now in a USA sealed package." There is no denying this edition of Concord will be rare, but whether or not it becomes valuable ******** to be seen. It's likely only a few thousand are out in the wild though, given how poorly Concord sold and how low physical sales are compared to digital. Concord has an unclear future in more ways than one, and while developer Firewalk has said it's going back to the drawing board and suggested a free-to-play re-launch may be on the cards, Sony has made no such guarantee. It was under development for eight years according to one developer and likely cost the company tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, to make. After all that, it was on ***** for a total of 11 days. Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. View the full article
  11. It might seem like there is no end to Roblox Doors as you pass through each door, but there is a limited number of doors in this game. You just need to survive long enough to reach the last door. But if you’re stuck in The Rooms, the number is much higher. How many Doors are in total in Roblox Doors? Time to check in. Screenshot by Dot Esports There are 100 doors in Roblox Doors. You’ll have to face the entities the hotel holds by either escaping them or by using items such as flashlights, lockpicks, and even a crucifix. The gameplay is similar to Pressure, but with a different setting and different monsters. View the full article
  12. With more delays than a Christopher Walken monologue, it was always going to be fascinating to see what kind of shape Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown would be in when it was eventually released. Originally scheduled for release in September 2022, publisher Nacon kicked the can down the road numerous times, first to 2023, then to early 2024, then to a vague general “2024” – but now, here we are, two whole years after its original release date, and it’s finally ready. Was it worth the wait? Well, yes and no. Solar Crown is a perfectly enjoyable racing game but it suffers from numerous polish and performance issues that make us wonder if even delaying it by two years might still have been rushing things a bit. 17. Have you got a tenner I can borrow? Look, I know you don't do loans, but I swear I'll pay you back. Why do I need it? Do you really have to ask? Ok, I'll come clean. There's a copy of Concord for ***** on eBay for £10,000, and I didn't buy it before it was pulled from ***** as part of it being shut down as of September 6, so scalpers are my only option now. No, this PS5 copy (thanks, TheGamer), which is listed as being for ***** to the first person to pony up £10,000/just over $13,000 or make what the seller deems to be the best offer, isn't the only one being hawked by scalpers, but it does look to be by far the most expensive. Come on now, the listing's titled "Concord Ps5 Video Game Rare Pulled From Shops .... LOL!" with a ***** emoji on the end there, so you know it's worth it. Read more View the full article

  20. On paper, The Casting of Frank Stone should have been a major triumph for Supermassive Games due to its innovations in the developers signature style. Unfortunately, while positive steps were taken to make this one of Supermassives best play experiences, the actual content of the game makes it fall far short of expectations. Technological innovations are more than welcome, but at the end of the day a visual story will always live or **** based on the quality of its narrative. View the full article
