From the world at large to the characters, clothing, armor, and weapons within, basically every part of Square Enix's beloved MMORPG has been given an upgrade in the new Final Fantasy 14 expansion. Yet with those changes come issues - in particular, some of the finer details on player character models are a little out of place, or don't look quite how they did previously. Honour Mode is a brutally challenging way to play Baldur's Gate 3, and with Patch 7, even Honour Mode runs that are going well could end up running into serious issues. As a concept that first appeared in the Divinity: Original Sin games by Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios, Honour Mode ratchets up the difficulty while adding a brutal game over mechanic. Minor mistakes can end the campaign outright in Honor Mode, so making it to the credits is quite an accomplishment. View the full article

Street Fighter 6 has now sold over four million copies, Capcom has announced. The sales milestone comes 15 months after the fighting game went on ***** in June 2023 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. “Thank you for playing and for helping us reach this milestone!” Capcom said. “We hope you're excited for the future of SF6 as we intend to release more content and hold more events!” Street Fighter 6 hit three million copies sold back in January, seven months after launch. That means it’s taken just over half a year to add another one million sales. Capcom has said Street Fighter 6 is “generally progressing in line with our expectations.” Capcom had said it aimed for Street Fighter 6 to outsell Street Fighter 5, targeting over 10 million copies sold over the course of its lifetime. “While we do not communicate specific figures for internal budgets, we look to outperform the title’s predecessor, Street Fighter 5, and are aiming for more than 10 million units over the life of the title,” Capcom said. Street Fighter 6, then, has a long way to go before it beats Street Fighter 5’s sales total. To put Street Fighter 6’s sales into context, 1993 SNES hit Street Fighter 2 Turbo sold 4.1 million copies, the seminal Street Fighter 2 sold 6.30 million, and Street Fighter 5 sold 7.60 million. Another interesting comparison is with fighting game rival Mortal Kombat 1, which has sold four million copies since going on ***** in September 2023. Mortal Kombat is typically the best-selling fighting game franchise, outselling the likes of Street Fighter and Tekken by some margin. Mortal Kombat 1 hit four million sales around 11 months after launch. Tekken 8 sold two million in a month. Meanwhile, Street Fighter 6 is in the middle of Second 2, with DLC characters Terry and Mai from Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters coming soon, and Elena due out winter 2025. Capcom has yet to say what comes after. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. You can reach Wesley at [email protected] or confidentially at *****@*****.tld. Baldur’s Gate 3’s game-changing Patch 7 was seen as Larian drawing a line under the phenomenally popular Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, but the developer has said there’s more to come. Patch 7, out now on PC but delayed on consoles and Mac (check out the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 patch notes here), is headlined by the addition of official mod support, 13 new cinematics that offer varying conclusions to your most evil playthroughs (some really are something!), Honour Mode improvements and new Legendary Actions, and revamped split-screen gameplay. Larian has announced plans to leave Baldur’s Gate 3 and indeed Dungeons & Dragons behind to make brand new games, but Patch 7 isn’t quite the finish line some might have thought. “Good news kids it’s not the final update,” tweeted Larian head of publishing Michael Douse. “We ain’t gonna talk about what’s coming for the game because it puts undue pressure on the devs, but there are things we’ve said we’ll do that are still coming, and the chefs must cook.” So, what can fans expect from a future patch? Larian has said it’s still working on both crossplay and a photo mode, alongside other fixes and updates. The question is whether Baldur’s Gate 3 will get any more major patches, like Patch 7, that significantly change either the story or add meaningful new gameplay features. While we wait to find out, check out IGN's recently published interview with Larian, in which the developer reflects on Baldur's Gate 3's success and discusses its future plans, for more. There's the cartoonishly muscular Chris Redfield from Resident Evil 5, and the towering version from RE Village, but for me, the STARS frontman exists in one form and one form only - the slick-haired, Zippo-owning live-action Chris Redfield from the original survival horror game. It's almost 30 years since Shinji Mikami, who would later direct Resident Evil 4 and The Evil Within, introduced us to the world of Umbrella, and the iconic characters from RE1 have undergone a lot of changes since. But even now, with whispers on the wind of Resident Evil 9 or maybe a Code Veronica remake, the herald of housebound horror hasn't forgotten his original cast - in a seriously wonderful new video, the actors behind Chris Redfield, Barry Burton, and Rebecca Chambers pay tribute to Mikami-san. Starfield was released a year ago amid breathless excitement, and I was right in the middle of it. Ive always had a soft spot for Bethesda games - Im embarrassed to say how many collective hours I have in Skyrim, Oblivion, and the later Fallout games, but I will tell you the number has a comma in it. When Trailblazers meet her they are interacting with one of her many puppets rather than her true person an update, however, may forever change Herta in Honkai: Star Rail. View the full article
