Nintendo has teased some kind of new project with the hashtag "Who is Emio?" and all I can say is that I'm deeply uncomfortable. Hey Nintendo, you ok there buddy? You need someone to check in on you? Because you just put out a weird tweet linking to a video literally just titled Emio that shows grainy footage of a man in a trench coat wearing a paper bag with a smiley face on it. Yeah, that's not normal, buddy. If this all sounds like some kind of funny prank, I'd love to tell you it is, but no, this is really something that Nintendo has just decided to drop on some random Wednesday. The video ends with some ********* that machine translation suggests it says something along the lines of "smiling man" which I've got to say, doesn't exactly provide either any more context or comfort to this whole situation. There is a website you can head to too, but you won't find any information there, it's pretty much just the same video as above. Though, I guess you can get a better look at the man in the smiling brown paper bag - it looks like there's a couple different bags that Emio (I'm assuming this is Emio, right?) wears, one with these kind of crescent moon eyes and big smile completely filled in, the other with round eyes and an equally big smile, albeit with teeth. Nintendo isn't exactly known for making games for mature audiences, but the trailer at the very least does have a Mature 17+ rating, so we can probably assume the game will have the same rating. AMD has just released its FidelityFX SDK 1.1 software suite which means game developers are now free to implement the company's latest FSR 3.1 frame rate-boosting frame generation tech into their games. While we've seen FSR 3.1 already in a handful of games, such as Ghost of Tsushima, this release now means it could soon arrive in many more. While AMD's rival for DLSS 3.0 isn't quite as capable as Nvidia's version, it still offers up a way for any entrant - AMD or Nvidia - on our best graphics card guide to provide a big performance boost via AI-generated frame generation. What's more, the most crucial addition to this latest update is that it decouples FSR 3.1 frame generation from any FSR upscaling, allowing developers to offer DLSS upscaling and FSR frame generation at the same time. That in turn means owners of older RTX graphics cards can access frame generation. Read the rest of the story... This is not a drill, nor a joke. Dota 2 now has a fighting game mode included as part of the recent Crownfall update. Included within the battle pass, it has five characters, dedicated move lists for each fighter, alternative skins, frame data, and more. It's a little cheap sure, and not quite a fully-fledged fighting game, but it's real. Fun too! This inclusion - titled Sleet Fighter by the way - was a total surprise addition to the game, and has been recieved rather well! Sure, it's purely PvE at the moment, but as far as battle pass rewards go, it's way more interesting than new skins or currency. It's not the first time Dota 2 has included such a mini-mode either. Roughly four years ago battle pass owners were able to play a Dota Underlords-style hero battler. In terms of other rewards, Dota 2 players get some treasures, candy snacks which can be exchanged for hero sets, couriers, wards and more. There are also Crownfall coins that provide handy discounts for those who collect enough of 'em. All in all, a fairly standard selection of battle pass prizes aside from, you know, the fully functional fighting game. Read more View the full article

Fallout: London's project lead has confirmed that the massive mod will need to downgrade your copy of Fallout 4 to a version from before the next-gen updates that dropped earlier this year in order for you to be able to play it. The reason cited is that the next-gen version of Bethesda's RPG "isn't stable enough". If you're out of the loop, Fallout: London's a full conversion mod for Fallout 4 that's set to let us explore a post-apocalytic version of the English capital, complete with fresh factions and quests. After Fallout 4's next-gen update forced its creators to abandon their planned release date of April 23, the mod has been left in what's felt like a bit of a purgatory. However, at the weekend, the team behind Fallout: London released a statement revealing that the mod is now undergoing QA testing by GOG.com, the storefront that'll be disrtibuting it, and is therefore just "waiting for the final green light". One detail mentioned in this statement is that the mod not only has its own installer, but also a downgrader, and project lead Dean 'Prilladog' Carter has now revealed that the latter certainly isn't just being chucked in there as a cool optional inclusion, as you might have assumed.
