If you've been trying to drop into a firefight in Helldivers 2 recently and have ended up getting stuck in an infinite loading screen loop, then good news. The game's latest hotfix is aimed squarely at stopping that from happening as much. Also, Arrowhead's teased that we might start getting some info on the next warbond "soonish". As outlined in a set of patch notes that's mostly made up of the usual section on "Known Issues", Arrowhead's used patch 1.000.405 to specifically home in on one issue. It's those poor folks who've tried to join the action, but have ended up trapped in the hellpod drop-in loading screen, with it infinitely looping rather than the game allowing itself to move on the next stage of depositing affected divers in their planet of choice. It's important to note that, while the fix "aims to reduce the number of people" currently being affected by the issue, it doesn't sound like Arrowhead's totally eliminated it, so you might need to file another bug report if you hop on today after updating and find that you're still experiencing the problem. It goes without saying, but if you do, please think of the poor folks who've got to read it, even if you're understandably frustrated. Read more View the full article

There's a new CG, live-action hybrid SpongeBob SquarePants film on the way, but this time everyone's favourite southern squirrel is taking the lead. It's almost been a good decade since SpongeBob mixed animation with live-action through 2015's The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, but Netflix is here to change all that with the upcoming release of Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie. As you can probably tell by the title, this one isn't really about SpongeBob, though he'll still be there alongside this film's titular hero, getting up to his usual hijinks. The first trailer for the new movie arrived yesterday, and while Bikini Bottom has been in trouble plenty of times before, this time the entire town has been up and lifted out of the ocean, taken to Texas (which just so happens to be where Sandy is from). With Sandy now on land, there's also been a new reveal for the character: she's actually a flying squirrel! How that has never come up before, particularly considering Sandy has removed her suit previously, can probably only be explained by "because she wasn't a flying squirrel until now" but hey, I guess sometimes you just have to come up with a way for a rodent and anthropomorphic sponge to travel across the USA. The film also introduces Sandy's extended family, introducing a range of new cast members including Johnny Knoxville (********), Craig Robinson (Pineapple Express), and Grey Griffin (Avatar: The Last Airbender). Pocketpair, the studio behind Palworld - that controversial hit from earlier this year that turned everyone into armchair lawyers for a hot minute - has announced it's teaming up with Sony Music and Aniplex for a ****** venture aimed at expanding the game's reach. How? Well, at least in part by selling things. While a lot of folks had initially expected Palworld to be the subject of some kind of legal intervention by Nintendo after it attracted allegations that the models used for some of its creatures were close to being rip-offs of established Pokemon, it, well, hasn't. At least not yet. So, it's not surprising to see Pocketpair really starting to try and take advantage of the game's potential to infiltrate every aspect of our lives via the distribution of plushies and other tat, something that's already been happening in what we assume to be not quite official fashion on various corners of the internet for a while. Remember the weird Grizzbolt and Depresso morph suits, some of which seem to have had their listings disappear since February? Read more View the full article

No, Eddie Murphy wasn't messing around, Shrek 5 is on the way, and Dreamworks has confirmed just when you'll be able to watch it. Last month, comedian and actor Eddie Murphy made the claim that the long in-development Shrek 5 was finally happening, and that there's even a Donkey movie on the way. Of course, Murphy could have always just been manifesting his own destiny, but as it turns out he was telling the truth - last night, Dreamworks officially announced that Shrek 5 is in development, and that you can expect to watch it in cinemas July 1, 2026. The announcement trailer was unsurprisingly set to Smash Mouth's All Star, the iconic track that appeared way back in the original 2001 animated film. It also featured the number five made out of Shrek's flesh, which will give me nightmares, so thanks for that, Dreamworks' social media manager. If you were wondering whether anyone from the original cast outside of Murphy would be returning, there's a pretty simple answer: yes! Shrek himself Mike Myers will be back as the titular character, a rare performance from the actor who hasn't been in all that much since the fourth Shrek film that came out in 2010. Cameron Diaz will also be back as Fiona, potentially even more notable as she had retired from the profession in 2014, though in 2022 she started up again, now set to appear in the comedy spy film Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx later this year. We already know that you’ll be able to romance all your companions in the upcoming RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Sounds a bit synthetic on the surface, right? Even fantastic games like Baldur's Gate 3 suffered from this overly obliging approach to relationships. Starry Studio has responded to growing fears that Once Human collects personal data, attempting to provide transparency around why certain player information—including government identification—is required to play. Others were also focused on what many are claiming could be possible spyware threats.
