EA has announced Rush, a new 5v5 mode coming to EA Sports FC 25. Rush mode features teams of five players, four human-controlled and one AI goalkeeper. Playable across Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick-Off modes, it sees players compete on a shorter pitch, with the middle third of the pitch removed, making for fast-paced gameplay. If a player commits a foul, they will be sent off with a blue card, which bans them from re-entering the field of play for 60 seconds. EA Sports FC 25 will introduce a paid season pass alongside its free track for the first time. The Premium Tier pass will be persistent across Career Mode, Pro Clubs and Ultimate Team and dish out packs, players and cosmetic customisation items. The Premium Tier will be available for purchase with both FC Points and Ultimate Team coins, and will function similarly to the current free season track in FC 24’s Ultimate Team, where Ultimate Team players complete objectives to earn XP and unlock rewards like coin boosts, player packs and special player and Icon items. And now, a week later, Nintendo has revealed that the full game is actually called Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, which just so happens to be the first new game in the series in more than 30 years. If you feel like you've heard of the series relatively recently, in 2021 the original games received a remake on the Nintendo Switch, but this title is a brand new one, and it's brought back Yoshio Sakomoto, the designer of the NES titles, and director of games like Super Metroid. "It's the first new Famicom Detective Club game in 30 years, so I did everything from the plot, to the script and the cutscenes, even all the smaller details," Sakomoto explained.
