  1. Once Human developer Starry Studio has delayed the introduction of account-wide cosmetics, due to recent "server instability." At launch, you could only make one character, with Starry Studio later adding more. Then players discovered that in-game premium purchases were on a per-character basis and not account-wide, so the team promised to rectify the issue. Now, though, with concurrent Steam peaks of over 200,000 players, the developer says it needs more time to implement the cosmetic fix, and offers a free item by way of an apology. 2. You look around today, with Manor Lords, Cities Skylines 2, and the upcoming Civilization 7, and you can't help but appreciate the rich history of the strategy game. First-person shooters are certainly a contender, but I think strategy sims are the defining genre in PC gaming - hits like the original Civ and Rollercoaster Tycoon helped shaped PC culture, and the mouse and keyboard have always felt like the most natural tools for managing an expansive virtual empire or a budding production hub. We've come a long way since the dawn of SimCity and Populous, but one series has strayed sadly into history's shadow. Detailed, granular, and inventive, it's been 22 years, but the once-iconic Industry Giant is finally coming back. Read the rest of the story... 11. Despite video games chasing the legitimacy of being like blockbuster Hollywood action films or HBO dramas, few of them take a pop at comedy as a genre. Thank Goodness You’re Here is a comedy game, and it’s a fantastic one. Developer Coal Supper’s second game is about the town of Farnsworth, a colourful, fictional northern English town. Players arrive seeking a meeting with the mayor, but they’re soon chucked out into the town square, with time to *****. Thankfully, Farnsworth is full to the brim with absurd characters with problems that only you can fix. Thank Goodness You’re Here! Mechanically, you’re traveling around the town, doing odd jobs. Your character can run, jump, and punch. These mechanics are largely used to set in motion the game’s seemingly endless string of jokes. One quest sees you assisting a never-ending extendable arm as it snakes its way through the town. Once you solve a problem, that will unlock a new part of the town, and a new quest. Read More...
