  1. In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, there are a bunch of hidden collectibles you can find, including cute outfits to dress Zelda in with 11 in total to find. While some of the outfits you can find are purely for cosmetic purposes, a handful of outfits you can obtain have additional effects than just making Zelda look different. Of the 11 outfits, four offer unique bonus effects that either increase hearts, let your spin ******* extend, or give Zelda the ability to talk to cute fluffy creatures across Hyrule. This will be Bethesda's biggest DLC to date, far outshining some of its prior best DLCs. View the full article
  4. One of my favourite things to do in Deadlock is to read up on each hero's lore. Some are as simple as "Jacob Lash is an ********," while others give a detailed description of a hero's journey and the tragedies they've overcome, like Bebop turning to a life of ****** to pay for his creator's medicine. And Deadlock's latest addition is no different... Read more.View the full article
  5. Mirage in Deadlock is tailor-made to turn the tide of fights with his quick teleports, but besides aiding your teammates, you need to sustain your lane—which requires running the correct build. Valve’s undoubtedly hard at work, introducing a new hero, Mirage, and several changes in Deadlock’s Sept. 26 update. Mirage’s addition takes the hero tally to 22, and the newest addition offers interesting abilities that allow him to be quick on his feet and evade ****** bullets comfortably. View the full article
  6. Following the departure of Neta “33” Shapira from Team Liquid, Jonáš “SabeRLighT” Volek was picked up on Sept. 27 to replace him on the TI-winning Dota 2 roster. SabeRLighT is looking to bring his outgoing charisma and playmaking ability to help Team Liquid win another Aegis. Liquid coach William “Blitz” Lee shed light on the roster situation, revealing that 33 had requested to leave the team before TI13 as he wanted to build his own roster back at Tundra Esports. With familiar face SabeRLighT being a free agent, the choice for TI-winners Liquid became quite simple. View the full article

  8. The beauty of cards is that they can be anything. You can slap together a working game with them in a couple of minutes. Take 12 blanks, doodle some faces and landscapes, and lo, you have a procedural narrative generator. Make some duplicates, invent a few rules and lo, you have systems. Conversely, the great drawback of cards - especially in those roguelite deckbuilders people have been churning out since Slay The Spire - is that everything can be reduced to them. For example: last night, I played a round of Fungi with my partner, Fungi being a charming tabletop foraging sim in which you gather scrumptious chantarelles and boletus from the forest floor. This morning I resumed playing Breachway, out now in early access, in which you guide a starship through a series of wartorn solar systems, with battles unfolding as a turn-based exchange of cards corresponding to ship components. 11. The story behind The Day Before is a bizarre one. Advertised as an MMO, it was at one point the most wishlisted game on Steam. Then, it launched, and everyone hated it. It wasn't even an MMO, and was much more akin to an extraction shooter - albeit a very basic one that fell apart very quickly due to bugs and performance issues. View the full article

  17. Valve has updated its new multiplayer game Deadlock to let players turn cheaters into a frog. Deadlock is a hero shooter that’s like a mash-up of all Valve’s previous games, including Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike. It’s in early development, with Valve updating all the time, which leads us to this week’s changes. This week’s Deadlock patch added a novel anti-cheat measure: turning a cheater into an in-game frog. If you spot a cheater in-game, you can either ban them or transform them for the rest of the match. Here’s the note in the patch notes: Added an initial Anti-Cheat detection system. When a user is detected as cheating, during the game session the opponents will be given a choice between banning the user immediately and ending the match or turning the cheater into a frog for the rest of the game and then banning them afterwards. The system is set to ************* detection levels as we work on a v2 anti-cheat system that is more extensive. We will turn on the banning of users in a couple of days after the update is out. When a match is ended this way, the results will not count for other players. And here’s how it looks: Guys do you ever get this weird glitch in deadlock [Hidden Content] — Poggu (@poggu__) September 26, 2024 According to ex-Counter-Strike developer Burton Johnsey, Valve built a system just like this for its legendary multiplayer shooter, codenamed '*** Surprise Mode,' but it turned cheaters into a chicken. Unfortunately it was never released. Holy *****, they finally built codename “*** Surprise Mode”?! When I worked on VAC, Rich and I designed this for CS but the cheater was a chicken. [Hidden Content] — BurtonJ (@sptonjohn) September 27, 2024 Deadlock isn’t properly released yet (it’s still invite only) but it’s already a big hit on Steam, where it’s usually in the top 10 most-played games. At the time of this article’s publication, Deadlock had an impressive 118,697 concurrent players on Valve’s platform. This week’s patch introduced a new Deadlock hero called Mirage, and made several map, hero, and item changes. Valve has yet to announce a release date. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. 22. You should expect to traverse several dungeons as you make your way through Remnant 2. The Dark Horizon DLC allows you to explore the Stagnant Manufactory, but there’s a tricky location where you need to navigate through toxic gases and a security room. The way the toxic gases work in this portion of the Stagnant Manufactory is you have to ******** the glass valves containing them to progress through the area. If you’re not quick enough, these gases can cause your character to **** and prevent them from moving quickly. There are several floors you have to clear to reach the end of this mechanic, but it’ll take a good amount of time to reach the end.
