Avowed looks like the latest game to get hit with a delay—but, for one, it doesn’t seem like that’s a bad thing at all. In his latest Notepad newsletter for The Verge, Tom Warren reported that Avowed, Obsidian’s new RPG originally scheduled to release this year, is getting pushed to early 2025. Usually, a sudden delay isn’t a great sign, or even worse, a sign of even more delays to come (cough, Skull and Bones, cough). Talon Esports Offlaner Ws became the world’s first-ever Dota 2 player to reach the 15K MMR milestone. What could be a feat of serious awe and appreciation is somewhat tainted though, as fans have started to question its legitimacy in light of recent MMR inflation thanks to Double Down Tokens. The 1.0 version of Core Keeper is set to launch officially on August 27, but the Switch version has been delayed until September 17. The console versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have also been pushed back, as announced by the developer. Asus is reportedly working on a new gaming tablet with an incredible amount of gaming horsepower under the hood. Details of the new Asus ROG Z13 Flow 2025 tablet have just leaked, showing it using a new AMD Strix Halo chip with an 80W GPU, which looks set to be more powerful than the graphics chip in the PlayStation 5. AMD GPUs are currently used in both the main consoles from Sony and Microsoft right now, and also power several of the best graphics cards available at the moment. However, AMD Strix Halo looks set to really shake up the laptop market when it comes out, by reportedly offering up to 16 CPU cores and up to 2,560 stream processors in its RDNA 3.5 GPU. Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty isn't interested in entertaining "bad ******" conversations about the upcoming Ubisoft game's protagonist, Kay Vess. As previews for the upcoming open-world title rolled out this week, Gerighty, in an interview with The Washington Post, touched on the discourse that some are pushing on social media that Kay isn't "attractive enough." His response? Don't give that conversation attention. "Kay is meant to be approachable, a petty thief who ends up barreling through this story, making bad decisions and centered with a lot of humor, humility, and toughness," Gerighty said. "That's what's important to me. And she's beautiful, come on." "If you engage with bad-****** people, there's no nuance and no possibility of real dialogue. We've been learning more and more about Star Wars Outlaws as final previews published this week. In IGN's preview, Ryan McCaffrey wrote that he had a "fantastic time" with the game, adding, "Open-world games tend to be jacks-of-all-trades, masters-of-none, and while I’m not sure Outlaws will master any of its gameplay components, it nonetheless not only does them all very well, but it does so with a convincing Star Wars sheen." AMD has just announced that the revenue from its Gaming segment has dropped by a massive 59% compared to this ******* last year. The Gaming division is the part of the company responsible for gaming GPUs, not only the AMD Radeon chips used for PC graphics cards, but also the custom chips the firm makes for consoles, such as the PlayStation 5, and sales are evidently in decline. It's the latter that AMD has specifically pinpointed as being a driving factor in the decline of sales in its latest financial statement. Meanwhile, AMD's Radeon GPUs still power some of the best graphics card models you can buy right now, including the Radeon RX 7800 XT, but the company has struggled to keep pace with Nvidia on ray tracing and upscaling.
