The next instalment in the long-running Call of Duty series has been revealed — Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6. The June Xbox Showcase and ****** Ops 6 Direct gave us a deeper look into the upcoming title, with new details on the story and gameplay features never before seen in the series. One of the most talked about features is Omnimovement, ****** Ops 6’s new movement system which allows players to sprint, *****, and slide in any direction and chain together combat moves. Omnimovement will be present in multiplayer, campaign, and zombies, fundamentally changing gameplay across all modes. The campaign takes place in the early ’90s, around the time of the Gulf War and the fall of the ******* Union. It will see the return of some familiar faces with several new characters added to the crew. During the ****** Ops 6 Direct, developers voiced how they focused on mixing things up with a wide range of mission types, varying from storming a palace to planning a bank heist. So, fans can expect locations and mission requirements to keep them on their toes. Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 will release on October 25, but you can experience the game early by playing the Open Beta. The early access to the beta will be taking place August 30–September 4, and you can get involved in one of three ways: 1) By pre-ordering the game, 2) With a qualifying Game Pass subscription, or 3) Through a special offer from EE. EE recently announced a partnership with Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 that will allow 150,000 fans to access the Open Beta without needing to pre-order or have a Game Pass subscription. It’s available to any EE customer, including new customers who sign up. All you need to do is log in to the EE website or create a new EE ID before August 29, then go to [Hidden Content] to register your details. EE also has pre-orders available now for physical versions on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and offer the ability to pay in three interest-free payments. If you pre-order a physical version, you’ll get an email with a code that will grant you access to the beta once it’s live. Alternatively, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will automatically have access to the beta, as well as the full release of Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 on day one. They can also pre-install the game, and seeing that it is lining up to be a hefty download requiring a lot of hard drive space, this can help you get into the action as soon as possible. If you’re looking to get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can get it for £12, cheaper than anywhere else, with the EE app. You don’t have to be an existing customer — all you need to do is download the app and sign up for an EE ID, with no other purchase or contract required. The Xbox Showcase also revealed new flavours of digital-only consoles — including 1TB ****** White versions of the Series S and Series X. EE will have both available when they launch this holiday season, and pre-orders will open soon. To stay up to date on pre-order info and upcoming releases, you can sign-up to receive updates from EE. You can curate your notifications to focus on particular consoles or brands, so you only get info related to things you care about. All it takes is a few moments, and you won’t have to worry about missing any big game launches again. View the full article

Valorant Console is now available to players in the ******* States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil and promises to bring the "same uncompromising, competitive experience that we've provided PC players for years: a precise, team-based, tactical shooter." Incursion Imminent VALORANT is now LIVE on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. [Hidden Content] — VALORANT (@VALORANT) August 2, 2024 As previously discussed, cross-play will not be available between PC and console players as Riot Games wishes to "maintain Valorant's renowned standard for competitive integrity." PlayStation and Xbox players will be able to play together, however. While that may not be the best news for some, Riot Games has reassured fans that their Friends List, Collection (Skins, Player Cards, **** Buddies, etc.), Battle Pass progress, and Agent unlocks will carry over. Furthermore, both PC and console players will "receive simultaneous platform releases of all live patch balances, new agents, maps, premium content, and additional live service features." “We’ve received so much valuable feedback from players during Limited Beta, and feel confident to deliver on our gameplay promise for console player," Arnar Gylfason, production director of Valorant, said. "Whether it's hitting that perfect shot, executing a flawless team play, or wiping out the ****** team, we look forward to seeing console players experience the same gameplay thrill as VALORANT PC players.” Valorant is free-to-play, but Xbox Game Pass members will be happy to know that all current and future Agents will be unlocked. In our Valorant review for PC from 2020, we said, "Valorant is the most fun I've had with a multiplayer FPS since Valve's Team Fortress 2. The flexibility of its magically-infused cast paired with a deep arsenal makes for a magnificent competitive canvas, if a tricky one to initially pick up. I'm already pondering new strategies to pull off with my friends in the future, and that joyous daydreaming won't stop anytime soon." Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story? Enlarge / There is something so wonderfully obscene about having a town with hundreds of people living their lives, running into conflict, hoping for better, and your omnipotent self is stuck on which bookcase best fits this living room corner. (credit: YesBox) [/url] Naming a game must be incredibly hard. How many more Dark Fallen Journeys and Noun: Verb of the Noun games can fit into the market? And yet certain games just appear with a near-perfect, properly descriptive label. Metropolis 1998 is just such a game, telling you what you'll be doing, how it will look and feel, and what era it harkens back to. You can verify this with its "pre-alpha" demo on Steam and [Hidden Content]. There's plenty more to come, but what is already in place is impressive. And it's simply pleasant to play, especially if you're the type who wants to make something entirely yours. Not just "put the park inside the commercial district," but The Sims-style "choose which wood ****** for the dining room table in a living room you framed up yourself." You start out in a big field with no features (yet) and the sounds of birds chirping. Once you lay down a road, you can add things at a few different levels. You can, SimCity-style, simply plot out ******** zones and let the people figure it out themselves. You can add pre-made buildings individually. Or you can really get in there, spacing out individual rooms, choosing the doors and windows and objects inside, and realizing how hard it is to shape multi-floor houses so the roof doesn't look grotesque. You can save the filled-out house for later reuse or just hold on to its core aspects as a blueprint. Read 4 remaining paragraphs | Comments View the full article

Often called a "DLC-sized mod," the fan-made Fallout London is better described as a brand-new game available for free within Fallout 4. The makers of beloved anime series Anohana are reuniting for a brand new film which has just got a release date. Fureru is the latest project from the Super Peace Busters creative team, who are made up of writer Mari Okada, director Tatsuyuki Nagai and artist Masayoshi Tanaka. The trio first worked together on the Toradora! anime, before moving onto arguably their best-known work - Anohana, an anime series about a group of friends shattered by loss during childhood. They then followed this up with yet another bittersweet anime, 2015's The Anthem of the Heart, and then their most recent film - Her Blue Sky. The first teaser trailer for Fureru, which was revealed towards the end of last year, mainly used clips from their three previous projects to build hype for what's next, and potentially set the scene for the type of emotional rollercoaster we're all in for. The first World Of Goo was a cheerful parade of goopy engineering with a sense of never-ending novelty (well, never-ending for about four hours). Every level would introduce a new goo type or a twist on the basic bridge-building puzzle that challenged you to get a gaggle of gurgling ****** to the nearest pipe. World Of Goo 2 pursues that sense of novelty with just as much twitchy eagerness as its predecessor, throwing new toys and goos at the player in an effort to keep you on your sludge-coated toes. That pursuit doesn't always result in pleasing new levels, though. There is a "hit and miss" feeling to things this time around. But those hits are hits. For anyone who has spent the last 16 years yearning for more sticky structure-building: I hope you like comically unpredictable fluids. Read more View the full article
