  1. With the arrival of new characters in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, there’s always a slight hesitation about whether you should immediately get them. There are now two undead units you can add to your collection. One of them is the ****** Trooper (Peridea). The ****** Trooper (Peridea) is one of the Night Troopers who worked alongside Grand Admiral Thrawn. The character has a few tags that make it a unique choice for synergy, and its abilities could make it a powerful asset if you want to prevent your opponent from using any lifestealing abilities against your team. Still, it might not be for every Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes player, so you’ll have to decide if the ****** Trooper (Peridea) is a character you need to get. View the full article

  3. Rayquaza is already one of the more fearsome Legendary Pokémon you can add to your collection in Pokémon Go, making it a highly sought-after choice. You can make it even stronger by evolving it into its Mega Rayquaza form but getting there takes some effort. Unlocking Mega Rayquaza’s form will take time. You also need to be patient while waiting for specific events to roll around. You need to use Mega Rayquaza energy to evolve it, and you also need to track down a specific item to make it happen. Without this item in Pokémon Go, you can’t evolve your Rayquaza into Mega Rayquaza. View the full article
  4. When taking on Mega Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you need to bring a full team and plenty of friends who can work with you. When facing off against Mega Rayquaza, you’ll want to know all its weaknesses and the best Pokémon to counter them. Mega Rayquaza is normally an Elite Raid, but it will be considered a standard five-star for a short time, allowing you to team up with your friends using Remote Raid Passes. You’ll need as many allies as you can bring with you to face off against Mega Rayquaza, but you also want to prepare your team to ensure they have what it takes to put a dent in it. These are all Mega Rayquaza’s weaknesses in Pokémon Go and the best Pokémon you can use to counter them. View the full article
  5. Mega Pokémon in Pokémon Go are easily the strongest team members you can have with you, providing several bonuses and enhancing your teams when battling. You also want to give them the best attacks, and Mega Rayquaza has some good ones to choose from. As a Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon, it can be a fearsome force and boost your team’s Dragon and Flying-type attacks. Here’s the best moveset for Mega Rayquaza in Pokémon Go. View the full article
  6. More games should have destructible levels. If the humble Worms series, long a mainstay of laughing with your friends over the most diabolical ways to ******* one another with makeshift traps, can do it, other games can, too. While we do have shooters and action games like Battlefield 5, Just Cause 3, and Red Faction Guerrilla to scratch this *****, it's largely been up to smaller teams, like those responsible for Teardown, to give us interesting ways to play with level structure. The latest example of this is Infest, which marries turn-based strategy with roguelike deckbuilding and, most importantly, features a wildly open ended approach to environmental destruction and manipulation. 8. A brand-new Darksiders has just been revealed at the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase, and while we didn't learn much, we do know that we should all "be prepared to ride again..." As detailed by PlayStation.Blog, the currently untitled Darksiders project was given a brief teaser trailer that takes place in a fiery "chamber impossibly old." In this chamber, there are "three colossal stone heads, suddenly set ablaze with otherworldly flames. The Charred Council awake, and roar a single word in unison: Horseman." Darksiders fans will remember the Charred Council as a trio who keeps balance in the universe and prevents one being from becoming too powerful. As those familiar with the franchise know, the Darksiders franchise stars the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. 2010's Darksiders starred War, 2012's Darksiders II featured ******, 2018's Darksiders III put players in Fury's shoes, and Darksiders Genesis let players control Strife (and War!). Could this game bring all Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse together for one grand adventure? Or will this be another spin-off title like Darksiders Genesis? We shouldn't have too long to wait to find out, as THQ Nordic said it will have more to "share on where the world of Darksiders is going soon." This new Darksiders project was just one of the reveals from the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase, and it joined an unannounced Tarsier Studios title, Way of the Hunter: Lintukoto Reserve, the Gothic Remake, Titan Quest 2, Wreckfest 2, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Space For *****, and The Eternal Life of Goldman. 9. Getting a Meteorite in Pokémon Go isn’t easy as it’s a rare item you can’t obtain while exploring your local neighborhoods. There’s a specific way you can get one, and it’s a hefty requirement if you’re looking to give it to the only Pokémon that can use one: Rayquaza. The Meteorite won’t always be available. You’ll want to check with the most recent events in Pokémon Go to see if there’s one you can grab. If there’s not, you’ll need to wait until the event rolls around. When you get a Meteorite, you’ll want to give it to a Rayquaza as this Legendary Pokémon needs it to evolve into Mega Rayquaza. View the full article
  10. ******* States Olympians like basketball star Anthony Edwards got an early look at Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 today, and I am not salty about it at all. I’m sorry. I just lied. In case you couldn’t tell by the headline, I am bitter and jealous about it. I’ve been sweating my buns off in my Herman Miller, wishing it was the end of the month already so I could play the new CoD. But I am not an extremely gifted athlete, so here I rot. 11. One of the most notable figures in the competitive Call of Duty scene is stepping down from his role with the Los Angeles Thieves. JKap will not be coaching the L.A. Thieves in 2025, he announced today on social media. The CoD esports legend had been coaching the CDL franchise since December 2020 after he retired from competing in September of the same year. 12. Warzone fans, rejoice: there’s plenty of SMGs to dominate foes up close with. But one of the best close-range guns is actually an ******** rifle. Added in week four of season three for Modern Warfare 3, the JAK Revenger Kit was one of the best Conversion Kits added yet. It took the season three battle pass AR, the BP50, and turned it into a 60-round SMG that shreds up close. I love it, and I am apparently not alone. It’s one of the favorite close-range guns in the game, still to this day. View the full article
  13. There are a lot of things to love about modern gaming, but not all of what gamers have gotten used to in recent times is beloved. In a recent r/Gaming Reddit thread, a user asked others what common aspects of gaming they hate the most. This question stemmed from the original poster venting about how much they dislike inventory management. Many games, particularly RPGs, require players to store or get rid of excess equipment or resources thanks to a finite number of storage space, usually requiring in-game upgrades to expand that space. Many replies in the thread agreed, wishing that many games would just let players have infinite storage so they can pick and choose what they want to get rid of. View the full article
  14. Enlarge / A thing that exists through ROM hacking, and ROMHacking.net: Super Mario Land 2, in ******. (credit: Nintendo/Toruzz) [/url] If there was something wrong with an old game, or you wanted to make a different version of it, and you wanted people to help you fix that, you typically did that on RomHacking.net. After this week, you'll have to go elsewhere. For nearly 20 years, the site has been home to some remarkable remakes, translations, fix-ups, and experiments. Star Fox running at 60 fps, Super Mario Land 2 in ******, a fix for Super Mario 64's bad smoke, even a Pac-Man "demake" that Namco spiffed up and resold—and that's not even counting the stuff that was pulled down by corporate cease-and-desist actions. It's a remarkable collection, one that encompasses both very obscure and mainstream games and well worth preserving. Preserved it will be, but it seems that the RomHacking site will not go on further. The site's founder posted a sign-off statement to the site Thursday night, one that in turn praised the community, decried certain members of it, and looked forward to what will happen with "the next generation." 15. I've never learned to drive, but every so often a well-meaning friend tells me I'd be good at it, because 'look, Edwin, you play all those driving games, surely they've taught you the basics'. Friend, here is what driving games have taught me: traffic lights are there for regional flavour; drifting is the same thing as cornering; other cars exist to serve as bumper cushions when overshooting a turn. Certainly, nobody wants a guy whose ideas about automobiles come from 2018's Wreckfest to be involved in the school run. On which note: THQ Nordic have just announced Wreckfest 2 - a fresh helping of destruction derby with fancified visuals and newly animate drivers who flinch and gesticulate when other drivers smash into them. Witness the carnage in the announcement trailer below. Read more View the full article
  16. The pixel art gacha game Sword of Convallaria has brought more than 20 Legendary characters for players to collect and use in their strategies when completing stages in the Fool’s Journey. Every player starts with Maitha, and can get more characters through summoning. How characters work in Sword of Convallaria You can’t use your characters in the Spiral of Destinies mode. Image via XD Entertainment. You’ll notice that you can’t use your characters while playing the Spiral of Destinies mode, only in the Fool’s Journey and Crossing Worlds modes. When in the Fool’s Journey’s Elysium, you can collect the characters you meet in the Spiral of Destinies, and one won’t affect the other. You won’t have a ******* chance to get a character while summoning if you already met them in Spiral of Destinies. View the full article
  17. China recently approved a number of new game imports, including a mobile game based on Final Fantasy 14. This information seemingly confirms that a Final Fantasy 14 mobile game is not only coming, but also decently far into development. View the full article
  18. Over the years, a number of classic ****** 'em ups have made their way to PC, letting players check out retro shmups like Ikaruga alongside more recent takes on the genre, like Vampire Survivors, Brotato, Exit the Gungeon, and more. Now, another shooter from the past is heading to modern computers in the form of X-Out Resurfaced, a newly remastered version of a game that first came out on the Commodore 64 all the back in 1989. 19. Uboat stands out as one of the best military simulators on PC to date. Rather than feature a broad view of the Second World War as in strategy games like Company of Heroes 3, Uboat focuses on Germany's submarine warfare with the same granularity as World of Tanks, War Thunder, or World of Warships. It's also been in Early Access on Steam for a very long time, gathering acclaim while its creators worked toward its final version, and has now, at last, come out in full with an accompanying launch discount. 20. It's a ***** of a thing to showcase a remake weeks after kiboshing the developers of the original game. In early July, Gothic creators Piranha Bytes were reportedly shuttered as part of Embracer Group's **** race to trim costs following their decade-long acquisition binge. Watching THQ Nordic's new Gothic Remake trailer (below) feels a little like watching a vivisectionist parade about in somebody else's skin. Still, the remake's developers Alkimia Interactive aren't to blame for Embracer's *****-ups, and I am selfishly happy to see Gothic return as an Unreal Engine 5 production - even if I didn't play the original back in 2001. Sin did play the original game, and in her 2016 retrospective, she paints an absorbing picture of a dark fantasy "microsociety" in which every community "has a reason to exist, a means of providing for itself, a social order, and a long term goal". It's a setup that reminds me of my beloved Roadwarden, even as the sight of grumpy lizards slinking through undergrowth has me silently mouthing "fus roh dah". Read more View the full article
  21. The Games has officially dropped into Roblox, featuring exclusive user-generated creations (UGCs) and unique items, purchasable with Shinies and Silver Badges. Much like The Classic and The Hunt events, The Games launches from a main hub area. Three rows of portals are featured in the hub, along with hidden treasures scattered throughout the map. The main goal of The Games in Roblox is to complete quests, collecting Badges and Shinies to earn rewards and boost your team’s points. 22. Gothic Remake is a faithful recreation of the 2001 RPG that promises plenty to enjoy for new and returning players alike. The release of Gothic over two decades ago sparked the start of a new franchise that received several sequels and successors, but there hasn’t been a new entry since 2006’s Gothic 3. While that isn’t changing, the THQ Nordic Showcase on Aug. 2 detailed how the franchise is returning to its roots in the remake. View the full article
  23. Titan Quest 2 won’t stray too far from the established formula, but players can expect to face some difficulties from combat, which has been crafted to be as challenging as possible. The sequel to the original title, first launched in 2006, was unveiled a year ago. Now, a gameplay trailer for Titan Quest 2 was shown at the THQ Nordic Showcase on Aug. 2, giving players insight into what to expect. View the full article
  24. Concerns about the use of AI in the gaming industry have significantly risen this year. But amid all the discourse, there’s a new platformer coming that takes an entirely different approach. The Eternal Life of Goldman, revealed at the THQ Nordic Showcase today, is an entirely hand-painted platformer inspired by ancient fables—and it looks absolutely gorgeous. View the full article
  25. Titan Quest 2! Now there's a name you can set your watch by. No colons, no bespoke jargon, no tortuous subtitles like "Gaia's B.O.U.N.T.Y." or "Hyperion's Wild Rumpus" - just the steadying prospect of a titanic quest that, who knows, may involve actual titans. The action-RPG beneath the moniker appears similarly straightforward: it's about following a plot thread through a mythological world in top-down view, smashing Ancient Greek giga-****** and the like to obtain shinier, pointier varieties of gear. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that there's an endgame in which you farm monsters for crafting materials. Like Pandora opening her box, but without the accompanying tidal wave of sickness, curses and ******, THQ Nordic have released a new trailer that talks you though all of this in detail. Here it is...
