  1. Players caught cheating in Counter-Strike 2 are being handed pretty hefty punishments as part of the game's newest update, receiving trade bans on their Steam account. The cheating stems from Counter-Strike 2's new Armor Pass, which tasks players with collecting stars, allowing them to unlock new and exclusive cosmetic items. Some players have found a way to exploit this Counter-Strike 2 system, with Valve now taking action against cheaters. View the full article
  2. Back in July, the Powers That Be at Rock Paper Shotgun's parent company Ziff Davis ***** off all 36 members of Humble Games, in response to "challenging economic times for indie game publishing". Now, Humble Games's former general manager Alan Patmore and global publishing VP Mark Nash have founded Good Games Group, a new indie publisher who will work with many of the same development partners from their Humble days. They're also partnering with Ziff Davis again, providing support for Humble's previously released games. Read more View the full article

  4. The NES Hub is compatible with NES consoles featuring the same design as the North ********* model. | Screenshot: X RetroTime has found a good use for the expansion port Nintendo included on the underside of the NES but never utilized. Its NES Hub connects to that port and adds Bluetooth connectivity, allowing up to four wireless controllers to be connected to the almost 40-year-old console. The NES Hub is currently available for preorder through 8BitMods for $57.28 and is expected to ship as early as December 2024. Installation doesn’t require any soldering, hardware modifications, or for the NES to even be opened. The NES Hub simply snaps into the expansion port and is designed to perfectly sit hidden inside the cutouts under the console. The most complicated part of the installation is connecting a small Bluetooth antenna and sticking it to the... Continue reading… View the full article
  5. The developers of A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead have revealed its microphone noise detection, an optional feature that lets the game’s monsters hear sounds players make in real life. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror video game based on Paramount Pictures’ popular post-apocalyptic franchise, which revolves around ****** extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing. The first movie, starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, met with criticial and commercial acclaim back in 2018. 6. I'd like to think videogames make flying easy. Even in Microsoft Flight Simulator, if you customize the settings and tweak the difficulty, you can make an intercontinental journey in a 747 feel like a breeze. Freedom, exploration, spectacle - these are some of the things that games do best. If you take the mechanics of a plane simulator, blend them with the galactic narrative of Star Citizen, and throw in some of Cyberpunk 2077's hard-edged aesthetic, you get G-Rebels, a new flying and dogfight game that's just been announced. 11. It's hard to overstate just how vital great UI is to a game. Every single setting, mechanic, and feature is unified under one style and presented to the player in a way that should, hopefully, enhance the overall experience. Sometimes UI becomes the soul of the presentation, with Persona 5's bold red, white, and ****** combinations defining so much of your time in-game. Elsewhere UI is diegetic, with ***** Space's holograms existing within the game itself, pulling you right into the worst day of Isaac Clarke's life. The importance of the Skyrim UI is no different, but that's why this brand-new mod is worth checking out. Read the rest of the story... 13. How do you interact with the brazier in The Sacred Hunt quest? Diablo 4 has a fairly long Spiritborn quest to unlock a place called The Spirit Hall. It involves some exploration, a lot of fighting, and a ****** that is seemingly immune to all damage. That isn't why we're here though - there's a point in the quest where you must interact with a brazier in some way to proceed, but it's a little murky on what you actually need to do - that's where we come in. The latest Diablo 4 DLC is here, and we delved deep in our Vessel of Hatred review to give you our honest opinion (we enjoyed it). If you want to undertake The Sacred Hunt quest you'll first need to get your Spiritborn class character to level 15, so get that boxed off. It might also help to hire a Diablo 4 mercenary to make the tough fights ahead a little easier. Read the rest of the story... This time, the studio partnered with Ubisoft to bring three armor sets inspired by the *********’s Creed franchise, along with a few additional items to complete the look. 21. As Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero players either learn the game's systems for the first time or become reacquainted with the classic Budokai Tenkaichi techniques, one new mechanic is gaining plenty of extra praise. It wouldn't be a Dragon Ball game without the ability to counter ****** moves, setting the stage for a dramatic switch-up that could turn the ****** on its head. While such an action is exciting in its own right, Sparking! Zero has gone the extra mile to give players the anime brawls they've come to love. View the full article
  22. Image: Nintendo It’s not a successor to the Switch, but Nintendo does have a new piece of hardware to announce: a motion-controlled alarm clock. It costs $99.99 and will be available in early 2025, though Nintendo says Switch Online subscribers can purchase it early right now. GTA 3 has the atmosphere, Vice City has the soundtrack, San Andreas has the freedom, GTA 4 has the story, and Grand Theft Auto 5 turned the whole series upside down with its limitless online mode. But for me - and I know this makes me sound old - the best GTA game is still the 1997 original. Grungy, ******, and low-budget, it fits the tone of Rockstar's ****** sim exactly, and it's reminiscent of an age when videogames were underground and dangerous.
