  1. With a month to go before Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes us back to 1937 to plunder tombs, punch Nazis, and occasionally ****** wise in the face of danger, MachineGames has unveiled a "deep *****" look at what's in store—although if I were to indulge my inner pedant (and I'm going to), I'd say the video is really more about breadth than depth... 3. Prime Video’s It's In The Game: Madden NFL has its first trailer, showcasing the ups and downs of development over the last 36 years. The four-part documentary kicks off on November 26, and includes interviews with a number of EA developers as well as NFL stars (some of whom are upset about their in-game ratings) in a bid to shine a light on Madden’s trials and tribulations over the decades. The trailer reveals concern about the state of the game from John Madden himself, who apparently wasn't a big fan the first time he saw a game demo. It also includes a short segment on the negative reaction to some of the Madden games, with disgruntled fans letting EA know how they feel in various comments (“still trash… big pass” etc). There’s even a clip of YouTuber ****** Joe doing one of his famous rants, screaming: “Every year it’s the same thing!” There are hints at dramatic events such as EA struggling with deadlines, signing licensing deals, and competition from other video games. There’s no mention of the infamous Madden Curse, but it seems like any documentary on Madden would have to at least touch on it. FIRST LOOK: @PrimeVideo has dropped the trailer for a new series chronicling the rise of the @EASPORTS Madden franchise. [Hidden Content] — Boardroom (@boardroom) November 11, 2024 Here’s the official blurb: It’s one of the biggest video games of all time, a groundbreaking brand that became a worldwide phenomenon, spanning generations — but it almost never happened… Now, 36 years after the first game's release, EA Sports gives viewers unprecedented access to the makers of the game that changed the game, and our culture too. 12. The citizens of Cities Skylines 2 are either incredibly *******, and just don't know how to use parking lots, or they're all evil geniuses, who've jointly conspired to annoy me in the most excruciating way possible. I spend hours building their roads. I make sure they have bus lanes. I check the heat maps to ensure proper traffic flow. But still - still - they insist on parking their cars on the side of the street. In Age of Empires, I can build a castle, cultivate a kingdom, and win a decades-long war. In Civilization 6, I can take over the world. But in Cities Skylines 2, all I want to do is build one efficient parking lot. Inspired by that humble quest, Parking World is a new Steam strategy game puts vehicles at the center. Read the rest of the story... View the full article
  13. How does the BO6 battle pass work? It's commonplace for anything remotely games-as-a-service-adjacent to come with a battle pass, and although the names of these systems can vary wildly, it's usually just the same progression model wearing a different hat. ****** Ops 6 has opted to change up how its battle pass works, and while it looks similar to a lot of other games, there are a few differences. Players will likely be focusing on the ****** Ops 6 battle pass for the new BO6 weapons on the horizon - any new guns being added to the FPS game will generally be locked behind one of the tiers on the battle pass. These new weapons are behind free tiers, thankfully, and just require some time and effort to unlock, meaning that you'll be able to add them to your best BO6 loadouts in no time. Here is how the new BO6 battle pass works. Read the rest of the story... 14. Intel has publicly held up its hands and admitted that its new Intel Arrow Lake gaming CPU release didn't go according to plan, saying that it found the experience "humbling." However, the company says it's already working on new updates that could help boost performance, in an effort to make its new Intel Core Ultra gaming CPUs more appealing to gamers. Intel has had a truly terrible year, with the previous Intel Raptor Lake lineup suffering from catastrophic voltage faults that caused irreparable CPU damage, and the new Intel Arrow Lake launch hasn't helped on the gaming front, as we found in our recent Core Ultra 7 265K review. 16. Microsoft has teased the addition of Spyro the Dragon to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. In a thinly veiled X/Twitter post from Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft published a short teaser showing a chest, with the message: “Hey uhh who left this chest here?” The official Spyro account replied with those eyes that mean something is definitely happening but hasn’t been properly announced yet. — Spyro (@SpyroTheDragon) November 11, 2024 This is all pointing to a Game Pass launch for Toys for Bob’s well-received collection Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, which launched in 2018 to critical acclaim. It includes remakes of the first three games in the Spyro series: Spyro the Dragon (1998); Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! (1999); and Spyro: Year of the Dragon (2000). As of September 2023, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy had sold over 10 million copies. Wave 1 of Game Pass' November 2024 lineup wraps up with the November 19 day one launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which means Microsoft is set to announce Wave 2 soon. The addition of Spyro to Game Pass would continue the drip-feed release of Activision Blizzard games on the subscription service following Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of the company last year. Game Pass already has Blizzard’s Diablo 4 and Activision’s recently released Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6, with plenty more to come. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN.
