  1. The folks at BioWare are likely letting out a collective sigh of relief now that Dragon Age: The Veilguard has become its first critical success since 2014. Reviews are glowing, touting it as a refreshing adventure, and fans are heaping praise upon it too. It's going pretty well for BioWare and The Veilguard, which is always a great sign. It hopefully means that the long-anticipated Mass Effect 5 will finally come to fruition after fans have waited far too long for it. View the full article
  2. Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion include a massive library of lore dedicated to Lords, Gods, Demigods, and a powerful set of entities known as Outer Gods, discussed or referenced throughout the game in item descriptions, environmental details, NPC dialogues, and more. Because of the cryptic nature of Elden Ring's lore, some Outer Gods are referred to as such directly, while others seem to fall into the same category or are treated by characters the same way an Outer **** would. 3. Due to ****** Myth: Wukong's massive success, a sequel seems all but certain, and the successor will have plenty of content options. After years of teasers, ****** Myth: Wukong immediately found a receptive audience at launch. Though initially plagued with some technical issues, the game smoothed out and was received well. It may be a simple game in some regards, but the return to such simplicity and some fantastic presentation have a lot of appeal. View the full article
  4. The gods of Genshin Impact, called the Archons, are the ones who watch over or rule their nations. The Seven, as they are referred to, are known across the land as holding great power and responsibility placed upon them. Some of the Archons are more engaging from a story perspective, whereas some haven't yet been displayed at their full potential. As the Archon quests of Genshin Impact are connected to each other and are slowly coming closer together as the game progresses, examining the Archons against each other can highlight the information and viewpoints placed on them so far. 5. fter years of content patches and tens of millions of copies sold, Stardew Valley finally has an official, mod-free approach to using cheat codes—akin to those in The Sims. As part of the farming sim’s beefy 1.6 update creator Eric Barone added support for Console Commands, so if you’re only modding for the easy money and item dupes, the process just got easier... 6. Like most RPGs in recent years, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has more to offer players than just its main story; among many hidden bosses is the Betrayal of Felassen, a high-level boss that offers unique rewards. The Betrayal is a part of the "Heart of ***********" questline that's found early on in Veilguard but will take you most of the game to complete. The specific sub-quest that the Betrayal is part of is entitled "Gate of Deep Sorrows," and you'll find it in the Converged City in the Crossroads. View the full article
  7. *********'s Creed Shadows has been a little overshadowed by its many controversies and bad decisions, angering fans and detracting from what could potentially be a rather enjoyable entry in the series. It's set to implement a number of features that fans have been requesting for a long time, such as a ******* focus on stealth as well as the option to go in guns blazing - or katanas blazing, in this instance. However, perhaps one of the biggest changes it's adding is to the modern-day sequences. View the full article
  8. Welcome back to another wonderful week of discounts with the guy who lives and breathes gaming. And not just any games, my friend—the best ones actually worth buying / playing / storing in a shameful pile to probably never be touched again. Personally, I'm all about the surprisingly early 30%+ discounts I'm seeing on Dragon Age Veilguard and Star Wars Outlaws. So maybe start saving there. In retro news, I'm commemorating the 19th anniversary of Resident Evil 4, a port that blew PS2 owner minds like a .223 calibre Semi-Auto Rifle round to the melon. Though I'd already dropped about 60 hours incessantly replaying this via my (better looking and sounding) GameCube version, I recall being instantly re-smitten when I booted this on 'Station. The new big cherry on top? Separate Ways, a roughly 2.5-hour mini adventure that slipped us into the impractical heels of a TMP-packing Ada Wong. Truly, RE4 was in the top 3 games of a console flush with all-time greats. Anybody who skips the Remake is Ganados levels of *****. This Day in Gaming - Age of Mythology (PC) 2002. PS5 Pro Enhanced Bargain Need a cheap Pro showcase title? ******’s Souls - $124.95 / $104 Even without a Pro Enhancement, the visuals of this '24 remake of a '09 PS3 classic already knocked my chainmail socks off. That said, there is indeed a vaguely described "PS5 Pro" toggle in the Display Adjustment menu. It seems to be a 4K-like 60fps Fidelity Mode, which, I think, looks noticeably better than the base experience thanks to additional tessellation density and a new contact shadow system that adds finer micro-detail to stonework (which is everywhere). Basically, I'm fixing to replay this all over again now. As a busy reviewer who's always on The Next Thing, I need a bona fide reason to look backwards; PS5 Pro Enhancement feels (and looks) like a worthy one. Arcane season two’s storyline continues to evolve in League’s lore, and players of the game will find many familiar faces returning to the show. 15. Hogwarts Legacy launched to enormous success, becoming the best-selling game of 2023 and earning itself a number of impressive accolades. Naturally, players would assume that more content was on its way, but that never really transpired. Instead, fans were left a little in the dark about what to expect, just getting a few smaller updates like a photo mode and, of course, the last-gen and Nintendo Switch versions. Luckily, rumors have been circling about the future of Hogwarts Legacy, and to some, it seems bright. View the full article

  18. Today’s Connections puzzle in the New York Times features a tricky word in the easiest group, and while the puzzle is solvable even if you have no clue what it is, it is still worth asking—what does “cask” mean, and how does it fit the solution? We’ve got you covered with the answers and hints you need. Literature-minded people might fall for a ****** red herring. Screenshot by Dot Esports What is ‘Cask’ in Connections hints and answer (Nov. 10) Per Merriam-Webster, a cask is “a barrel-shaped vessel of staves, headings, and hoops usually for liquids,” or the quantity contained within a cask. Odd and rarely-used the word may be, it is actually part of the yellow group of words in today’s Connections puzzle, the easiest of the bunch. Unsurprisingly, many players today ended up finding other groups first in this one. I personally got the purple one first because of how much the words involved stood out in their sheer oddity, figuring out the yellow group in third place. View the full article
  19. Although Capcom has been known to make demos before a new MH release, Monster Hunter Wilds introduced a series first experiment with an early access beta on the Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. The beta allowed players to explore and hunt in one of the new areas, the Windward Plains, and experience the first open world in Monster Hunter's storied history. Plenty of new features shined in this beta, including ******* switching, pop-up camps, Seikret riding, and a following Handler who is both useful and isn't incredibly annoying, unlike a certain character from MH World.
