  1. New leaks about Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 have highlighted new Relics that may be the first adequate set for *****’s build in the game. Version 3.0 is the next major patch for HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG and will kick off the title’s third year of content. With it, players will unlock a new destination called Amphoreus and, with it, meet a new roster of allies – the Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0. All of this, in turn, will bring forth new main story missions for Trailblazers to explore as they continue venturing through the galaxy. View the full article
  2. Epic Games surprised players by announcing that fan favorite DC characters would be making their return to Fortnite. DC characters like Catwoman haven't been seen in Fortnite's item shop for nearly a year. Some of the skins have been away even longer than that. In the past, the battle royale has seen major collaborations with DC. While many characters have come to the game, Fortnite characters even made their debut in comic books alongside icons like Batman and Superman. Some fans were uncertain if the skins would return after Disney bought a 1.5 billion dollar stake in the game and deepened its partnership with Epic Games. View the full article

  6. Microsoft has announced the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2024, headlined by Indiana Jones and the Great Circle but also including the likes of ****** Team Racing: Nitro Fueled. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the highly anticipated release from Wolfenstein developer MachineGames and is Indy's first proper foray into the video game space. Players are tasked with uncovering one of history's greatest mysteries in the first person single player adventure, and arrives as a day one title on December 9. "Generations of gamers both new and old should care [about this game]," IGN said in our preview. "Because as good as the studio’s recent Wolfenstein reboots were, The Great Circle might be even better." ****** Team Racing: Nitro Fueled is something quite different as a colorful kart racer akin to Mario Kart. "****** Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s difficulty, memorable track design, and addictive power-slide mechanic make it a kart racer worth playing but it's not without its frustrations," IGN said in our 8/10 review. It didn't review as well as previous entries, however. "EA Sports WRC feels like a great racing game trying to ****** its way out of an unfinished one," we said in our 6/10 review. Overthrown arrives the same day. "Lift and throw anything as you build and manage your kingdom in this chaotic city builder for one to six players," the synopsis reads. "Harness the power of your soul-stealing crown to defend your citizens from bandits and mutants, farm the land, and gather resources." Aptly arrived in the midst of winter, Wildfrost is a tactical roguelike deckbuilder set in the town of Snowdell. The sun has frozen over and its survivors stand as the last bastion against an eternal winter. Flipping the traditional hero saves the day narrative on its head is the next entry, the side scrolling action game Carrion. "Carrion nails the power fantasy of being a horror movie monster, but makes exploration a chore that pads the adventure," IGN said in our 7/10 review. Finally, wrapping up the month is Road 96, the wild and wacky procedurally generated game about taking a road trip. "Road 96 is a fascinating and frequently tense adventure that manages to keep its story on track despite the odd bump in the road," IGN said in our 8/10 review. Those not subscribed to Ultimate can look forward to some new titles too, as Xbox Game Pass Standard is getting the likes of Forza Motorsport and Humanity while Xbox Game Pass core is getting DayZ and Goat Simulator. A handful of games are leaving Xbox Game Pass this month too, though those looking to continue playing afterwards can save 20% on their full price by purchasing them while they're still available on the subscription service. Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. View the full article

  9. With Dune: Awakening's launch fast approaching, the survival MMO space ******** a difficult one to navigate. Developers for Dune: Awakening can look to the initial failures and eventual successes of another major game in the space, Fallout 76, as an example. Where it appeared at first that the Fallout IP simply wasn't enough to compensate for the underwhelming gameplay at launch, 76 had many things working against it. While it would seem these massive franchises have equally massive built-in audiences, it turns out things are slightly more complicated than that and these MMOs cannot rely on name recognition alone. 10. Grand Theft Auto 6 is easily one of the most hyped games of 2025. But not only has a release date for Rockstar Games’ latest installment in the epic ****** series not been confirmed yet, there hasn’t really been any new trailers for the game, either. As pointed out on the GTA 6 subreddit, today marks the one year anniversary of the release of the upcoming game’s first trailer. It quickly took the world by storm, but things have been real quiet since then outside of occasional comments and updates from the development team. Many of the replies in the thread echo the frustration over a lack of news, but some remain optimistic that a new trailer is coming as soon as today. View the full article
  11. Pokémon TCG Pocket might be a highly simplified form of the Pokémon TCG, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a competitive meta. For the past five weeks, over 1,000 players have taken part in streamer Ursiiday's weekly tournament, and that's allowed us to see a noticeable shift in the meta. 12. Pictures purportedly showing off the Lenovo Legion Go S, a budget version of the popular Legion Go gaming handheld PC, have just been leaked. These new rendered images show off the front and back of the device, along with the trigger buttons and I/O. If the ***** is legit, then it shows Lenovo is potentially removing some of the more interesting features from the original Legion Go handheld from this new budget device, instead going for a more modest design. This new Lenovo handheld will be another Steam Deck rival that hopes to capture the interest of gamers, but as our original Lenovo Legion Go review proved, competition to make the best gaming handheld PC is strong, especially if you get the pricing wrong. With that in mind, if Lenovo can nail the specs and the price, it has a chance here to provide a strong budget alternative that gamers will actually want. Read the rest of the story... 19. When I downloaded Creeper World IXE's demo, I had it pegged as a bizarre original. It is, in fact, the latest in a series of real-time strategy games in which you position turrets and terraform maps to repel surging, simulated tides of purple liquid. This is a war between flesh and mineral, solidity and fluidity that dates back to the age of Gillen. Alex Wiltshire (RPS in peace) interviewed creator Virgil Wall back in 2019 - amongst other things, we learn that the original Creeper World was based on a "********" - and Sin has an enthusiastic piece from 2021 about Creeper World 4, the first 3D instalment. What does Creeper World IXE bring to the party? Well, 1) it ain't 3D, and 2) it's billed as an exercise in "dominating" the titular Creeper, rather than keeping it at bay. For too long has this sloshing, coruscating hooligan been allowed to wash over and corrode our precious starports. We will take the ****** to it in the shape of an upgradeable 2D starfleet, equipped with lasers we can use to chisel away the geography and re-rout the flow of villainous Vimto. 20. The Steam Link was a little box ahead of its time. It streamed games from a PC to a TV, ran 1,500 0f them natively, offered a strange (if somewhat lovable) little controller, and essentially required a great network, Ethernet cables, and a good deal of fiddling. Valve quietly discontinued the Steam Link gear in November 2018, but it didn't give up. These days, a Steam Link app can be found on most platforms, and Valve's sustained effort to move Linux-based (i.e., non-Windows-controlled) gaming forward has paid real dividends. If you still want a dedicated device to stream Steam games, however? A Raspberry Pi 5 (with some help from Valve) can be a Substitute Steam Link. As detailed in the Raspberry Pi blog, there were previously means of getting Steam Link working on Raspberry Pi devices, but the platform's move away from proprietary Broadcom libraries—and from X to Wayland display systems—required "a different approach." Sam Lantinga from Valve worked with the Raspberry Pi team on optimizing for the Raspberry Pi 5 hardware. As of Steam Link 1.3.13 for the little board, Raspberry Pi 5 units could support up to 1080p at 144 frames per second (FPS) on the H.264 protocol and 4k at 60 FPS or 1080p at 240 FPS, presuming your primary gaming computer and network can support that.
