  1. It’s only a matter of time before the Nintendo Switch’s successor is finally revealed, but it seems like the official announcement is actually close. And the console’s release date may not be much later, either. There has been a deluge of Switch 2 rumors and speculation for several weeks now, including peripheral-makers showing off controllers and JoyCons for the unannounced Switch successor at CES this week. But the latest one is a rumor that comes from a source that’s gotten to two substantial announcements ahead of time recently. View the full article
  2. Path of Exile 2 players grew increasingly desperate while developer Grinding Gear Games was away for the holidays, even resorting to apocryphal rites in hopes of summoning patches to address their early access woes. But for YouTuber Slipperyjim8, the interregnum provided just enough time to descend into a 16-day spite-fueled mania of data collection and monster killing to prove whether or not PoE 2's item rarity stat does, in fact, produce more loot... 3. Powering up skills in Path of Exile 2 is a crucial step towards endgame character builds, and to do this, you will need access to plenty of Greater Jeweller's Orbs. Path of Exile 2's skills are arguably one of the biggest changes from its predecessor, taking away lots of the limitations and replacing them with player freedom. The new Support Gem system has helped greatly in increasing skill power. View the full article
  4. Full-motion video games, also known as FMVs, were popularized in the 1990s with games like Phantasmagoria and Night Trap. Instead of using renderings or computer-generated visuals, FMVs featured pre-recorded videos for cutscenes and character animations. This allowed developers of the time to create the most immersive experience they could, especially on PC, given the limitations of the era. View the full article

  6. The popular and well-reviewed ****** Myth: Wukong game is on ***** at Amazon. Right now you can get it a physical PlayStation 5 copy for $56.99, a 13% off discount from its original $65 price. ****** Myth: Wukong was one of the few recently released games that didn't see any discount during ****** Friday. At this price, it's also less expensive than getting the digital only edition at the PlayStation Store. ****** Myth: Wukong (PS5) for $56.99 ****** Myth: Wukong was released on August 17 of 2024 and was an immediate success. This game from Game Science is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is easily one of the best looking PlayStation 5 games. The grand, sweeping story is inspired by the Monkey King lore with a main campaign that takes about 35 hours to complete according to howlongtobeat. It boasts punishingly difficult Souls-like gameplay (I personally found it harder than Elden Ring) and epic boss battles. It didn't make it into our list of best PS5 games of 2024, but only because it was too new (had to be out for 6 months or longer). ****** Myth Wukong review by Mitchell Saltzman "As GameScience’s debut action game, ****** Myth: Wukong is mostly a great success, despite some major technical ****** marks and localization issues that are likely to cause some frustrations at launch. Combat is fantastic thanks to a great balance of careful resource management and lightning-fast, twitch-reaction gameplay that tested my skills as much as Elden Ring ever has, despite being a more traditional action game than FromSoftware’s style. Not only that, but there are a ton of exciting boss battles, a great variety of enemies, and the world they inhabit is an absolute treat for the eyes and ears. Its story has its moments but relies a bit too much on having prior knowledge of the events of Journey to the West, and it really could have used a map to make its rewarding exploration measure up to the strength of its combat. That said, its strengths more than carry it through, making ****** Myth: Wukong a great action game that could be even greater if GameScience can squash the bugs." 7. Square Enix has something of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for the Final Fantasy 14 community in regards to mods. 21. After showcasing his high placement on the Diablo 4 leaderboards last year, the world’s wealthiest man has moved on to greener pastures and is flexing his skills in arguably the best ARPG of all time, Path of Exile 2. However, recent streams cast doubt on his prowess and high-level hardcore ladder placements. As first reported by PC Gamer on Jan. 10, Elon Musk has previously shown himself playing what is supposedly one of his hardcore characters in PoE 2, standing at level 95 as of Jan. 7. For the uninitiated, hardcore mode in PoE 2 and other ARPGs is one containing permadeath—if your character dies, they die for good. Getting far with a hardcore character is an impressive feat of its own, but having one at level 95 requires such immense skill that only the rare few succeed. View the full article
