Baldur's Gate 3 has ten recruitable companions, with six being origin characters and the majority having their own personal quests. All of these characters have connections to the overall plot as well as the world as a whole, but one of them notably falls short. Minthara has some of the smallest amounts of content compared to the other companion characters despite being met in Act 1, and doesn't have the nostalgia factor of Jaheria and Minsc. Killcams and kill effects can be every bit as disruptive as they are useful in Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6. In case you didn't know, a killcam is a short video that plays every time your character dies, showing their death from the perspective of the player who killed you. These have been an online multiplayer staple for some time, and can actually be quite helpful when learning the ropes of a new map. But they quickly become frustrating and repetitive, especially considering you have to manually skip them every time - or at least you do on the default settings. View the full article
The brand-new "Kell's Fall" mission in Destiny 2 has a pretty neat puzzle for Guardians to figure out; play the right notes on the organ in the Bailey in order to explore all the secrets the mission has in store. The organ itself is front-and-center as players begin the mission, but without knowing what to do with its mysterious notes, there's no telling the actual function of the instrument. The organ starts out with only a few notes available, so players will need to run the mission a few times to fully unlock it. View the full article
With the release of the Season 1 Battle Pass in Marvel Rivals, players will be able to acquire up to 10 new skins for pre-existing characters, most of which are matched to the gothic vampire hunter theming of the season. While the majority of the new skins are incredible, there are a few that leave a bit to be desired. View the full article
Pure Rock Crawling is about steering off road vehicles across rocky terrain. It's about pumping the gas pedal and wrenching the steering wheel just so, such that you lurch forward and over the obstacles, rather than tumbling backwards. It's MudRunner without the mud, with a knockabout simplicity presumably as a result of its apparently one-man development team. It launched last October but I hadn't heard of it until today, when a new map was added, and now I want to play it. Read more View the full article
The 2025 edition of charity fundraising speedrun event Awesome Games Done Quick has been running for the last week, featuring such wonderfully absurd runs as an Elden Ring saxophone-controller boss showcase and a Crazy Taxi speedrun performed with a live band. As a Fallout sicko, I was pleased to see Tomatoangus (also known as Tomatoanus) tackling a New Vegas all-romances run, a somewhat niche speedrun record we've written about before... Monster Hunter Wilds finally allowed players to try out the next-generation installment in the franchise with its open beta last year, letting players hunt a handful of exciting new monsters in a gorgeous desert landscape. While the Monster Hunter Wilds' beta offered an incredibly fun glance into the full release, it wasn't without its share of issues. Although it was expected that not every feature would be included in the shorter experience that Monster Hunter Wilds was offering, it was still missing one vital mechanic that would have benefited both new and returning players. Minecraft is the best PC game, according to me and the RPS staff who dare not cross me. I played it for three hours today and, among the many build challenges and adventures, a small story formed around a baby pig. We named him Porky, we caged him as our ****, and in an unfortunate accident, we watched as he fell to his death from the sky island that was our home. RPS in peace, Porky. How many befriended pigs like Porky have there been across the last several hundred hours of play? I'm not sure - dozens, hundreds - but soon such pigs might have a new form. After 15 years, Mojang are adding new types of pig to Minecraft. Read more View the full article

Classic Offensive, a long-running Counter-Strike community project with an ambitious goal of mixing the best of 1.6 with the innovations of Global Offensive, was finally about to see the light of day after eight years of development, but with the app retired from Steam after an automated review, it seems Valve is either unsupportive or uninterested in this project coming to light. CS:CO went into “early access” in 2016 and first went through the Steam Greenlight process back in 2017, and its long and arduous development process was coming to a close late last year. Its design goal was to use a wider range of the Source tools available in games like Portal 2 to make a return to the core gameplay experience without a focus on matchmaking, skins and gambling, mixing elements of 1.6 and CS:GO to create something unique and more community-focused. The Counter-Strike mod, penned for a 2024 holiday season release, was ultimately pushed back to early 2025, and today, it seems to have hit a dead end after the app was retired from Steam with no comment from Valve, despite previous interactions. Marvel Rivals is still breaking records, as the concurrent player count within the past 24-48 hours, reaching higher than titles such as Helldivers 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5. Within less than a month, the title accumulated over 20 million players worldwide, which is no easy feat. With so many heroes to choose from, engaging battles, and competitive play, it's no wonder the alleged "Overwatch killer" is doing so well. View the full article
