When two new heroes dropped with Marvel Rivals’ Season 1 on Jan. 10, we all knew Competitive was about to become a chaotic mess. Players rushed to instalock them without even a Quick Play warm-up or a spin in AI mode. My history with Overwatch had me bracing for frustration. The early outline of Tribbie’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 has allegedly been leaked, and while she was expected to operate within a certain role in team comps, it seems like she will have an unexpected gameplay design that will force her to be played in an entirely different fashion than anticipated. Tribbie is one of the new characters from Amphoreus, described as The Messenger. The character, who is considered one of the Chrysos Heirs, is represented by a trio of short red-headed girls. Lords of the Fallen publisher CI Games has said that it won’t be “integrating any social or political agencies” into its games. During an investor call attended by Strefa Inwestorow (via PC Gamer), CI Games was questioned about the company’s stance on “DEI in gaming.” In response, marking director Ryan Hill said that the company was focussing on “excellent user experience with compelling thematics and characters created specifically for core and adjacent audiences.” He said: “While some video games have recently taken the opportunity to embed social or political agendas within their experiences, it is clear that many players do not appreciate this, and as a result, we have seen a number of high-profile releases underperforming commercially during the last year alone. Marvel Rival has broken its all-time concurrent player record following the release of its first season of content. The hero shooter released its first season yesterday.
