  2. A SteamDB listing has emerged for Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition. Curiously, as of the moment of this writing, there has been no official announcement for this game, be it on PC or consoles, so it'll be interesting to see when a proper reveal comes out. 4. The new season of Apex Legends is an exciting one, with players eager to dive in and try out the suite of changes in the game. Unfortunately for many players, an “untrusted system file” error code is delaying those plans, but some intrepid legends have already found a solution. The new season of Apex launched today, and the season 24 changes made so far feel fun. The weapon buffs and late-game armor nerfs have made fights feel much faster and force you to rethink how you approach enemies, while Ash’s buffs to her dash are snappy and fun to use. None of that matters if you can’t even get into the game, however, and some players encountered the “untrusted system file” error on PC whenever they tried to open their games after the season update. 5. A fate worse than death, or at least slightly inconvenient in The Sims 1, is having their Sim turn into a zombie. With the new release of The Sims 1 and 2 in a legacy collection for the game’s 25th anniversary, a new generation of players will have unfettered access to every expansion pack ever released and all the strange content inside. This means new players will also encounter strange situations and problems that aren’t as common in later games, including what to do when your favorite Sim has become a member of the undead. 8. Capcom is adding a number of new features to the series with Monster Hunter Wilds, the biggest of which is arguably the title's open world. Monster Hunter titles usually have reasonably large environments that tend to be more famous for their density, but these environments are put in separate instances behind loading screens. Wilds requires no loading screen to enter hunting areas, and I could venture right out of camp into the Windward Plains in the game's latest beta to get a feel for a portion of the world. 10. Less than a day after announcing their plans to reset Marvel Rivals players' Competitive Mode ranks, NetEase Games is crying Uncle (Ben?). After being swamped by a tsunami of "negative feedback, " the rising star hero-shooter has pulled the plug on what many fans have labeled its first big misstep. Word that Marvel Rivals players would lose their hard-won competitive ranks came in a Dev Diary Post about the big mid-season patch set to drop on February 21, 2025. In its defense, the post wasn't all bad news: it confirmed that the patch will add Human Torch and The Thing to the game's roster, finally uniting all members of the Fantastic Four together as playable heroes. However, most Marvel Rivals players (myself included) were far more interested in the news that the patch would also shave our ranking of the game in Competitive Mode down to half of what they were pre-patch. Marvel Rivals rewards players who reach certain ranks with unique costumes and "Crests of Honor they can proudly display on their plate profiles, so losing these ranks could cut players off from receiving rewards they practically broke their fingers to collect. Within minutes of this announcement going live, Marvel Rivals players descended on social media like a fleet of Ultron units. Reddit posts like this one made it clear as crystal that an overwhelming majority of fans weren't happy about this decision, and users on X (formally known as Twitter) punctuated that opinion with some hilarious but frustration-fueled posts. [Hidden Content] Luckily, NetEase Games responded to their player base's ire almost immediately. In a second Dev Diary Post uploaded just hours after the one that started all this, the dev team announced they were quashing the planned rank cut. Acknowledging the massive backlash the decision unleashed, NetEase confirmed that players' ranks will remain untouched until Season 1 ends and that players who've reached "Gold III" rank will receive the exclusive Blood Shield costume for Invisible Woman. [Hidden Content] While there's bound to be some lingering ill-will, the breakneck speed with which NetEase addressed their concerns shocked and delighted Marvel Rivals players. Other hero shooter dev teams would have taken days, if not weeks, to acknowledge a controversial move on their part, let alone address it. By mending a bridge that wasn't even broken yet, NetEase has confirmed its commitment to its fans. If responses like this Reddit post are anything to go on, Marvel Rivals players are grateful for the change and willing to forgive, sending a message other game developers might want to listen to. 11. New Line Cinema just shared the first look at Karl Urban as Johnny Cage for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2, and this has the potential to be the best rendition of the character yet. The upcoming sequel to the Mortal Kombat movie reboot from 2021 had been silent for too long. The studio knew it had to break the silence in the most hype way possible, and it sure did. We'd known Karl Urban would be playing Johnny Cage in the new movie for a while, but this is the first time we get a look at the character, and he looks just right. [Hidden Content] Anyone unaware of Johnny Cage's persona might get the impression they're looking at a regular Duke Nukem impersonator, but there are a lot of cool elements at play here. The character of Johhny Cage is a true badass, but he's also a movie star in the world of Mortal Kombat, meaning he needs to have his badassness comedically exacerbated by 200% for the public. Thus, we got the perfect reveal via a fake poster from an '80s style action slop blockbuster with lots of explosions, motor bikes, leather jackets, and what I assume is a pair of $500 sunglasses. Why Karl Urban is the best choice to play Johnny Cage As most Mortal Kombat fans know by now, the character of Johnny Cage was inspired by Jean Claude Van Damme, but the studio couldn't get Van Damme to play Johnny Cage in the first movie. Lynden Ashby, the actor who played Cage in the OG Mortal Kombat, absolutely nailed the part he got, but, through no fault of his own, couldn't capture the entire nature of the character. That's because the meta aspect of the character required a real-life action star playing a ****** guy who was actually unsure of his combat prowess. One of the surprisingly great things about the original Mortal Kombat rebook was the comedy. Props go to Josh Lawson, who played Kano, for making the movie worthwhile with his brilliant comedic takes alone. This time we have Urban, a fan-favorite action star with great comedy chops of his own, so I'm sure that part is once again more than covered. Mortal Kombat 2 is set to release on October 24. The post Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage has been revealed, and he looks realer than ever! appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

  18. The last two entries to the franchise, includingAssassin’s Creed Shadows, have continued to promise a return to the franchise’s roots. While some elements of this promise have come true, it is impossible for the franchise to progress backward. 21. We're officially one week from the release of Avowed, and developer Obsidian and publisher Xbox have released the PC system requirements for the upcoming fantasy RPG. As per usual, there are both minimum and recommended system requirements which we will dive into below. Screenshot via Xbox Minimum System Requirements for Avowed If you're looking to just get in and be able and run Avowed on lower settings, you'll want to pay attention to these minimum system requirements. It looks like Avowed will be pretty well optimized, as the minimum requirements don't require anything taxing at all. In fact, the minimum recommended GPU is a GTX 1070 or equivalent which released almost a decade ago back in 2016. Here are the full minimum system requirements for Avowed: *Requires a 64-bit processor and OS OS: Windows 10/11 with updates Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 / Intel i5-8400 Memory: 16GB RAM Graphics Card: AMD RX 5700 / Nvidia GTX 1070 / Intel Arc A580 DirectX: Version 12 Storage: 75GB Recommended System Requirements for Avowed Of course, you'll need some heftier hardware to run Avowed on higher settings for the recommended system requirements. In terms of the graphics cards recommended, you'll need an RTX 3080 or equivalent, meaning something released in the last few years. Interestingly enough, you won't need more RAM, as 16GB is the amount required for the recommended specs as well. Here are the complete recommended system requirements for Avowed on PC: *Requires a 64-bit processor and OS OS: Windows 10/11 with updates Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X / Intel i7-10700K Memory: 16GB RAM Graphics Card: AMD RX 6800 XT / Nvidia RTX 3080 DirectX: Version 12 Storage: 75GB It will be interesting to see how Avowed takes advantage of the newest DLSS4 features. Even though right now to get your hands on a 5000 series GPU, newer cards will still be able to access DLSS4, which could prove useful with the vibrant landscapes in Avowed. Let's take a look at how you can complete the challenge, and if it's worth doing so at all. EA FC 25 Jess Park Future Stars SBC tasks The Jess Park Future Stars SBC has only one task, and here are its requirements. Task - Jess Park Future Stars SBC Min. 1 Players from: England Min. 1 Players: Team of the Week Min. Team Rating: 85 EA FC 25 Jess Park Future Stars SBC solutions Here's a solution you can use to complete the latest Future Stars SBC in EA FC 25. Any 87-rated TOTW item Cancelo 86 Palmer 85 Simons 83 de Ligt 84 Cuthbert 83 White 84 Romagnoli 83 Grimaldo 86 Goretzka 83 Acerbi 84 The only decent part of the SBC is its completion cost, for the card is extremely underpowered. It doesn't have two playstyles+, and the stats are mediocre at best. Trickster+ as a single playstyle+ isn't effective in the current meta (unless it's the Mbappe POTM card we are talking about). She also has only 4* Weak Foot and 4* Skills, making her slightly limited in front of the goal. Park has decent roles, and 90 Pace and 92 Dribbling is decent. However, you'll have to place her in a future evolution if you want to use her in a competitive fashion. The Morgan Rogers Future Stars SBC, in comparison, offers far more value in terms of the fodder used to complete it. 23. Sigil Shards are among the new resources added to Destiny 2 for Episode: Heresy, helping to make delves into The Nether more manageable and control potential rewards. However, Sigil Shards aren't explained very well to players, and you'll want to know how to make the most out of the currency. Destiny 2 will often feature specific resources or currencies tied to an Episode or Season. For Episode: Heresy, that has been Metastasized Essentia scattered around the Dreadnaught, Essence of Desire, best earned from refining Metastasized Essentia, and Sigil Shards. However, after earning the resources themselves, even more important is that players know what to do with them. Where do Sigil Shards come from? Screenshot by Destructoid Guardians can earn Sigil Shards just by playing the game during Episode: Heresy, but there are some strategies that are proving more fruitful than others. There is always the chance that a defeated enemy will drop a ****** Taken orb. If players destroy it, three pickups will spring forth, each rewarding two or three Sigil Shards. Thankfully, it's easy to earn Sigil Shards while tackling other Heresy tasks. The Nether, for example, provides Sigil Shards from all chests. Players can earn even more if they get the Rune that rewards Sigil Shards from Metastasized Essentia nodes encountered during the activity. Of course, that's all in addition to the Sigil Shard orbs occasionally dropped by enemies. Sigil Shard farming [Hidden Content] As of this writing, there is an incredibly easy way to farm Sigil Shards. Best of all, it doesn't require an unreasonable time investment. That said, it's unclear if this is an intended interaction in-game or if it's a bug that Guardians can take advantage of while active. If players head to the enemy-rich Altars of Sorrow Public Event on the Moon, there should be no problem amassing piles of Sigil Shards. So long as Guardians are using a weapon with good AOE potential, like an Indebted Kindness with Voltshot, or even some ability spam with a new Bolt Charge Arc build, there will be no shortage of Sigil Shard orbs littering the battlefield. After the phase or event ends, players can go around shooting the orbs and collecting all of the Shards. The only downside to this method is that players can only carry 300 Sigil Shards at a given time. In the grand scheme of things, a stack of 300 isn't that much. So, Guardians must spend the resource almost as quickly as they amass it. What are Sigil Stones for? Screenshot by Destructoid Whenever Guardians collect Sigil Stones, it translates to XP gains for Mastery of Resolve reputation ranks. In addition to vendor XP, players can also use Sigil Stones for Runic Enhancement and the Tome of Want. Runic Enhancement allows you to spend Sigil Stones on Runes that can be equipped through the Shaping Slab or via altars at the start of The Nether runs. The costs of Runes can vary, with the selections increasing in price from right to left. While these Runes only work in The Nether, each offers worthwhile buffs, like the Tier 3 Healing Rune, making Healing Orbs more effective. That can be pretty handy in the new activity with limited healing options. Alternatively, players can use Sigil Shards to focus specific rewards through the Tome of Want. As players participate in Episode: Heresy, they'll occasionally collect items called Crumbing Scriptures to be used in the Tome of Want. These Scriptures allow players to choose a specific reward through the Tome, but finding Scriptures isn't guaranteed. After Guardians complete the "Tome of Want: A Primer" Quest, 100 Sigil Shards can be used if a Crumbling Scripture isn't available.
