War Rats is sort of trash, but I love it all the same. Oh, you're giving me a 'ratvolver' and letting me build 'turrats' and there's a dramatic close-up of swinging rat ****** in the intro montage for each stage? Yeah, go on then. It's got the vibes of something made by the guy you knew in secondary school who exclusively drew pictures of cartoon dicks but, like, they were undeniably really good dicks. Absolute ***** prodigy, that guy. Pablo Dickasso. Anyway, I'm probably making it sound like there's a serious ***** to rat ratio here but it's really just those ******. There are some great rat animations though. It's a 2D strategy tug-of-war where you push through stages summoning troops and building structures, and when you do, you're treated to a bunch of rats with hammers piling up construction barriers. When enemy rats fall, either to your own guns or your army of Ratineeers, gangs of regular-sized rats come to nibble on their corpses. They also say things like "Tell my wife…squeak". The developers of New World have been busy updating the title and bringing it back to the forefront of the gaming world. Destiny 2’s Sundered Doctrine dungeon brought an enticing story, interesting mechanics, and even a way to focus loot if you’re brave enough to complete the dungeon quest. And its drops are nothing to scoff at, either. Sundered Doctrine has four weapons with fresh and unique perks. To focus your drops, however, you must first complete the Drowning Labyrinth quest for the Sundered Doctrine dungeon, which is time-consuming in itself (but at least you’ll be stocked on drops by the time you do). Avowedattempts to fix a lot of the failings of RPGs, from shrinking the bloated open worlds of games like Assassin's Creed to making exploration feel genuinely meaningful thanks to a plethora of emergent moments and interesting loot. It also somehow manages to have the best first-person melee combat, something that its competitors like Skyrim have failed to do for decades. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a huge game full of secrets and strange circumstances. Now that we know more about how Elden Ring Nightreign actually plays after its recent network test, you're probably starting to coordinate friend groups to play the co-op title on release. You're probably wondering, does Elden Ring Nightreign have crossplay so you can play with friends on other platforms? Let's take a look. Screenshot by Bandai Namco Is there crossplay in Elden Ring Nightreign? Unfortunately, FromSoftware has confirmed that there will be no crossplay support across platforms. There will be support for generational crossplay between platforms, which means PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can play together, as can Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. However, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players won't be able to play together, and PC players will only be able to play with other PC players. This means if you want to play with friends, you will all need to be on the same platform. On the plus side, Elden Ring Nightreign appears to be following the same release plans as Shadow of the Erdtree which means it will be released globally on all platforms at the same time. If you and your friends all agree on the same platform to play on, you shouldn't have any issues playing together come release. Is there PC cross-platform support? At the moment it appears Elden Ring Nightreign will only be available on Steam when it comes to PC. As such, there will not be PC cross-platform support because it is only available on one PC platform: Steam. This is to be expected as the base Elden Ring game and Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are both only on Steam as well, most likely due to the multiplayer features of the game utilizing Steamworks and Steam servers. It's important to note that based on this logic, matchmaking in Elden Ring Nightreign will platform-specific as well, meaning PC players will not be matchmade with console players and vice versa. Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader will soon join PC Game Pass alongside the freshly launched Avowed in an RPG-heavy week for the subscription service. Rogue Trader is a classic-style CRPG set in the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000. Most PC games that you can play on a modern PC would run faster on an Nvidia RTX 5080 or 5090 than, say, a GTX 1070. But some games, from a particular phase of enthusiasm for particles, destructible environments, and smooth-moving hair, will take a notable hit if their owners upgrade to the latest Nvidia cards. That's because PhysX, once a dedicated physics simulation tool and card that became a selling point for Nvidia's gear, has been largely deprecated on Nvidia 50-series cards.
