  1. After numerous interactions, it seems as if Payday 3 is trying to get the attention of Fortnite to set up some kind of collaboration. Epic Games recently released a whole new season of Fortnite, which revamped the game's loot pool and brought several new locations into the title. View the full article
  2. Before you even get to control your character in Wanderstop, you've already ******* up. Alta has lost in the arena, her defeat a swift and ignoble end to three years as unbeaten champion. She is, in her own words, a ruinous "failure". To retrain and come back fiercer than ever, she pops into the forest looking for a legendary trainer, only to find herself waking up exhausted in front of a picturesque tea shop. The Steam demo that follows will see you harvesting plants, making tea, and arguing a lot with the shop's owner, a gentle giant who thinks that maybe what Alta really needs is just some time to rest. After all, you can't fail at drinking a cuppa. Read more View the full article
  3. It's safe to say that League of Legends has had a rough start to the year. While the community for Riot's MOBA is often forthcoming with concerns and complaints, players' dissatisfaction levels are nearing new highs. The reasons? Well, there are a fair few, but the main one is LoL's gradual move towards more expensive or gacha-style cosmetics while removing or changing popular progression and reward systems - namely, Hextech Chests. These were booted out of LoL at the start of 2025, but with community sentiment souring, Riot has done a u-turn. Hextech Chests are returning next week as part of the Act 2 update, and to further make peace with players, the unlock costs for new champions will be halved. Read the rest of the story... 4. Brookhaven Hospital gets all the credit, but for me, one of the scariest locations in Team Silent's peerless original series is the train station in Silent Hill 3. Deserted, quiet, but haunted by something invisible and malevolent, it's the physicalization of everything that makes survival horror work - you feel vulnerable, but thanks to the fixed camera, you have no idea what's lurking nearby. Seemingly inspired by that eerie location, Post Trauma also takes cues from old-school Resident Evil, Dead Space, and maybe some other erstwhile hits like Forbidden Siren and Parasite Eve. The first bit of good news is that you can try it right now. The second bit is that the release date is now confirmed. Read the rest of the story... 5. League of Legends has undergone a ton of changes in the past year. The primary point of contention between Riot and its players have been Hextech Chests, which are now officially coming back as of the next patch. The League community has been up in arms ever since season 15 started and the entire economic landscape of the game was revamped. Hextech chests were removed, battle passes were made worse and less rewarding, and the numerous freebies the game previously gave players for leveling up, playing well in a match, or completing missions were nowhere to be seen. Instead, gacha pull systems where $250 skins are sold were plastered across the client, the skins themselves sometimes just chromas of existing cosmetics. We’ve come full circle, however, as Riot officially announced on Feb. 26 that it would bring back Hextech Chests, giving players 10 chests and keys per Act as part of each Act’s battle pass, which amounts to 60 chests and keys per year. 7. After reading some of the key details about Baldur's Gate 3's writing process, I finally understand why every character feels so incredibly fleshed out. BG3 continues to be one of the biggest games out there even as it approaches its second birthday, and that's due in no small part to its instantly iconic cast of companions. From the loquacious and somewhat pompous Gale to the fearsome-yet-lovable Karlach, each one of the game's main characters endeared themselves to fans with their personalities and backstory. 8. Fans who bought a physical copy of Monster Hunter Wilds will need to download a 15GB update before playing it. Day-one updates are fairly standard today, as are required downloads for physical games, especially when they're the size of the latest Monster Hunter entry. Still, anyone hoping to play Monster Hunter Wilds from a disc should be aware of the fact that they may not be able to dive into it quite as quickly as they may have expected. View the full article

  12. I love roguelike deckbuilders, but I'm always on the lookout for a game that takes the genre one step further. Games like Balatro, Slay the Spire, and Inscryption are all unique in their own way, but Into the Restless Ruins is doing something equally as interesting. If you're yet to try the game's original demo, which has been around for some time, it's just been massively updated for Steam Next Fest, making it better than ever. Read the rest of the story... 13. The discussion about third-party apps’ accessibility in League of Legends seems to be picking up steam instead of cooling down. Now, a Riot Games developer has addressed the issue, claiming the company could take action soon. On Feb. 25, another thread has made its way to Reddit, where players compared League to Marvel Rivals. They outlined how NetEase has banned third-party devices like Blitz in its hero shooter, and many think Riot should do the same. An LoL developer, Chris “Auberaun” Roberts, replied in the comments, saying Riot agrees some of these devices cross the line, and therefore might take specific action. View the full article

  18. Throughout your time in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, you'll enter Agrabah's Artisan District alongside Jasmine in hopes of upgrading your pickaxe. However, upgrading your tools requires collecting three Artisan Alloys around the distract by locating small wooden chests. While they're not locked behind complicated puzzles, they require some parkour. All Artisan Alloy locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley Each Artisan Alloy is located in the Aladdin's Realms Artisan District and its surrounding areas. You won't have to return to the Windcaller's crater where you first found Jasmine, but you will have to traverse nearby rooftops. Fortunately, your first Artisan Alloy is the easiest to find. Once you talk to Jasmine in the Artisan's District, pick up the large plank behind her and dig up the smaller one in the ground. You'll need numerous planks throughout these quests, so watch out for them. From here, turn right and run toward the nearby market stalls and gold pots. The first wooden chest is sitting comfortable next to a small door and a stack of barrels and contains an Artisan Alloy. Screenshot by Destructoid The next two sections require picking up two additional planks on top of the ones you already have on hand. With a large wooden board, a small plank, and an Artisan Alloy on hand, head back to the ramp where you initially came from before heading through the brick door across the rooftop. You'll find a gap separating you from the rest of the chests, which you can patch up with the large plank. Once you place it down, turn right to find a wooden chest and another plank. Screenshot by Destructoid Now that you have two planks and alloys, head past the massive wooden barrel and turn right to find a third plank. You now have everything you need to push the barrel aside and create a ramp down to the third Artisan Alloy chest. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you have all three Artisan Alloys, head back to the Aladdin Realm's Artisan District and use the purple crafting station next to Jasmine. You'll find a pickaxe upgrade recipe here, allowing you to equip it in your inventory and unlock the ability to break orange rock formations. The post All three Artisan Alloy locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

  20. After weeks of intense backlash from the League of Legends community, Riot Games has officially announced the return of Hextech Chests. The decision follows widespread frustration among players and content creators after Riot initially removed the popular loot system. In a statement released today, Feb. 26, Riot addressed player concerns. Acknowledging that Hextech Chests were more than just a means to unlock in-game rewards, Riot admitted they “didn’t fully grasp how much this mattered” to the community. The reversal comes as part of broader adjustments aimed at restoring player trust, but the new system doesn’t fully mirror the one players were mourning. View the full article
  21. Humans. I hate them. In Dungeons and Dragons, that is - they've got the best abilities and the most boring everything else. They're a lodestone that tethers the players and the DM to medieval fantasy tropes, when we could use DnD to do literally anything. So imagine my delight when Wizards of the Coast teased its next DnD crossover with Magic: The Gathering - a new supplement set on the twin planes of Lorwyn-Shadowmoor, a world with absolutely zero humans.
