4. Pokémon Go’s latest season, Might and Mastery, arrived at the start of March, and with it, trainers across the globe got access to the adorable Fighting-type Pokémon Kubfu, who will be the main star for the next few months. For those unfamiliar with the Sword and Shield DLC Pokémon, Kubfu can evolve into one of two forms of Urshifu, which has taken off the loading screen for the game this season and has been heavily advertised as the flagship Pokémon for the next few months—not that you’d know if you caught Kubfu and were wondering how to evolve it. 7. Skins and cosmetics are often seen as a downside to live-service games, with critics arguing against aggressive monetization schemes and tactics. But they can sometimes be quite impactful in a positive sense, driving players to purchase heroes or characters who have particularly striking cosmetics, as one Reddit thread shows. Marvel Rivals, a game with a fair amount of good looking characters and skins, seems to have inspired its players to purchase particular heroes precisely because of their skins. In one March 9 discussion, Rivals players spoke out, highlighting the characters they purchased and got good at so that they could rock some flashy bling and actually have something to show for it. “I bought the Infinity War bundle and went “***** now I actually have to play [ America],” one player wrote, adding how they’ve been quite successful with the hero since. 8. There are so many amazing RPGs, including the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Baldur's Gate 3, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but many, including the likes of Greedfall, go massively under the radar, despite being incredible games in their own right. Whether down to a lack of promotion, lower-budget, some expected jank due to the size of the development team, many of these RPGs go criminally overlooked. View the full article

12. FragPunk is a chaotic five-vs-five shooter that feels new despite following a similar format as multiple big games. However, outside of the mayhem created by the Shard Cards that completely change every round, you can also expect to lose your mind in the game’s menus. There are a lot of menus in FragPunk, to say the least, and the general layout may leave you confused for the first couple of hours. Tabs upon tabs of screens, all in the game’s vibrant art style, is what you can expect regardless of whether you’re looking to customize your weapon or find which challenge to do next. 13. Activision has officially announced the date that Verdansk will return to Call of Duty: Warzone. It’s long been known that Verdansk, which was the original map in Warzone, would be making a return at some point, with Activision announcing back in August 2024 that it planned to bring the map back in Spring 2025. The publisher has now finally announced when exactly this will happen, stating on social media that the map will return in a month’s time. Read More... View the full article
14. Mecha BREAK has been slowly clearing its path in the mecha-esports scene, being one of the first modern titles to follow this formula. Now, the game’s developers have announced the creation of Mecha BREAK esports, with the likes of Team Liquid and Disguise set to participate. “We proudly announce the 10 teams competing in our Pre-Launch Global Invitational,” the devs said in a March 10 X (formerly Twitter) post. It announced that “teams from North America and Japan” have assembled to participate in the event taking place in Zhuhai, China, which will also feature domestic teams. View the full article
15. Today’s LoLdle quote is a bit of a mouthful: “Arise, death, and greet the king who conquered you back!” While there’s at least a couple clues in there, it may be tough to figure out which champion says these words if you’re not familiar with League of Legends lore. Both the words “death” and “king” play into this champion’s gimmick, but there are at least a couple of other champions it could apply to. You may initially think it’s another League character like Tryndamere, since he staves off death with his ultimate and his epithet is the Barbarian King. Maybe you think it’s Sion, a resurrected super-soldier who’s defeated enemies of all sizes and standings, including a king. View the full article

17. Disney Dreamlight Valley's Spring Into the Lucky You event has officially arrived to mark the beginning of a new season. Or, well, close to it. From March 10 to 17, you'll collect three-leaf and four-leaf clovers to craft an exclusive furniture item and obtain a themed shirt. How to find three-leaf clovers in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid Three-leaf clovers are DDV's common variety you can find in any biome. They appear as small, bright green clovers that sparkle as you approach them. One three-leaf clover spawns every 15 minutes, letting you farm them if you play for a while. Three-leaf and four-leaf clovers only spawn during Disney Dreamlight Valley's Spring Into the Lucky You event from March 10 to March 17, 2025. If you log into the game at any point before or after these dates, you may find a few stragglers, but you won't spot any new spawns. How to find four-leaf clovers in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid Four-leaf clovers are a much rarer variety that can also spawn in any biome. However, unlike their three-leaf counterparts, they appear once every 90 minutes as one large clover. You can also only have one four-leaf clover in your Disney Dreamlight Valley village at a time, so you won't be able to sit AFK for six hours and have a bunch spawn. Treat these like an hourly scavenger hunt between farming and questing. Alternatively, you can craft four-leaf clovers using ten three-leaf ones and 500 Dreamlight. That way, if you have dozens of three-leaf clovers and need one or two more four-leaf variants, you'll have another way to without sitting around for an hour. You'll find its recipe under Refined Material in your crafting table. How to use clovers in Disney Dreamlight Valley Clovers are an event item in Disney Dreamlight Valley you can use to craft the End of the Rainbow Cauldron and obtain the Lucky Shirt. Getting the Lucky Shirt requires collecting seven four-leaf clovers and redeeming its relevant Dreamlight Duty, while the End of the Rainbow Cauldron uses the following resources: Four-Leaf Clover (10)Iron Ingot (10)Gold Ingot (20) Screenshot by Destructoid If your goal is to "complete" DDV's Spring Into the Lucky You event, you'll want to grab this shirt and at least one cauldron. Better yet, you can make several cauldrons if you want one in each biome. You have one week to do it, so be sure to find as many clovers as possible. 18. Activision has confirmed the release date for the return of original Verdansk map to Call of Duty: Warzone. Verdansk returns to the battle royale on April 3 alongside Season 3, Activision said alongside the following tease: “Get ready for the drop zones and familiar terrain that players loved, alongside new updates to explore.” There’s even a teaser trailer, below, to whet players’ appetites. Verdansk returns to Warzone as part of its fifth anniversary celebration. Since launching in March 2020, the free-to-download Warzone has seen more than 125 million players. Fueled by stay-at-home gaming during the pandemic, Warzone changed Call of Duty forever, and in the years since has become tied to the release of each annual premium game in the shooter series. However, Warzone has suffered a troubling 12 months, with an ongoing backlash over cheating that Activision is struggling to get a handle on, and a perceived lack of content fueling what many in the community believe is a shrinking playerbase. The pressure is on Verdansk to breathe new life into Warzone, and Activision will be hoping a spot of nostalgia for the way the battle royale was at launch will help it along. The April 3 release date for Season 3 of Warzone and ****** Ops 6 is a little later than expected, as the countdown on the current battle pass had suggested a reset on March 20. Last week, Activision said "we’re taking the time to deliver a great experience." Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. 19. FragPunk is slowly but surely cementing its position among competitive shooters, particularly those following the CS2 formula. Unlike the Valve title, though, FragPunk has a strong anti-toxicity mechanism in the form of its honor systems, and players believe it might be the perfect solution. “Nice to see this game takes toxic players seriously,” a March 9 Reddit thread reads, praising FragPunk‘s honor system that severely punishes toxicity by lowering disruptive players’ honor grade. At Grade E, the lowest of the low, players gain 50 percent less gold and XP from playing the game and are completely barred from queueing for ranked. Higher grades have less severe punishments, with high honor players rewarded, which is similar to League of Legends‘ system. Competitive shooters are known for less-than-stellar player behavior, especially Counter-Strike 2, where there are few systems in place to curb toxicity (the Trust Factor is a strong attempt, but unfortunately not enough). 23. Alta used to be a champion fighter. Now, she can’t even lift her sword. After she collapses in the forest, a kindly teashop owner called Boro invites her to join him. Maybe a spell of cozy gardening, cleaning, and making tea for customers will help her feel better? But it’s only an offer. You can go back into the forest at any time. Obviously, I tried to leave. Firstly because I know how to accurately roleplay a stressed, overly devoted burnout who puts all their value in their vocation. And secondly because, come on. This game was written by Davey Wreden, the creator of The Stanley Parable. There’s got to be some kind of secret to ignoring the clear invitation of the game, right? Read more View the full article
